Ren plays guitar, bass, piano/keys etc. He's incredibly versatile!! The Big Push includes Romain Axisa on lead guitar and Gorran Kendall, (in this video on acoustic and vocals on Feeling Good). They both have their own channels too.

There is something tremendously uplifting about seeing young people making music with such freedom and joy whilst showing respect to the heritage that preceded them. Your conversations are always interesting as well. Thank you.

I think some guitarists are coerced into playing bass due to a lack of bonafide bassists , whilst a select few gravitate to the bass as their " specialist " instrument. Pioneers such as Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clark, James Jameson and Bernard Edwards ( to name a few ) were instrumental ( unintentional pun lol ) in my brother, David, taking up the bass. David has been a pro bassist for almost 50 years now and has covered most genres of music. He took up double bass in his early 20's after falling in love with the playing of Danny Thompson ( of John Martyn fame ). I have been involved in music a long time too. My dear friend, English singer songwriter, Martin Stephenson, was playing a wee gig in The Queens Head in Belper, Derbyshire and he asked me if our David might be up for accompanying him on a set of his songs. David knew a few of Martin's songs but had to busk his way through most of the set, simply by asking Martin what key the song was in and listening and improvising. Here is a bit of footage I took of that evening many years ago. David had played double bass on a few songs, then he swapped to his electric 6 stringed bass .... Martin's reaction when he looked up and realised David had swapped instruments was priceless 😂 .......... All so incredibly talented and so young! OMG I would have loved to be standing out in that street or walking by on that day. ♥ Don't know why but I can almost imagine the spirits of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendricks, in those young men.

You two have me in stitches - your great, you kid of remind me of my mum and dad and their back and forth. I'm following along your Ren reactions and lovin it. I'm from Eastbourne which is kind of in the neighbourhood of Brighton where Ren is from. I discovered his videos about a month or two ago and can't get enough of his videos and now reactions too LOL. I have lots of health issues and really relate to his struggle and find him an absolute inspiration. Thanks for just being you guys.

Yaas! One of my faves from these super talented lads. Love how the sound bounces off the buildings like that, wish street performances were more of a thing throughout the states so people could just stumble upon them (permitting processes are such a pain here). Ren is my favourite artist of all time and this is my favourite performance from TBP after their “I Shot The Sheriff/ Road To Zion/ HipHop”. The other members are Glenn Chambers - drums Romain Axisa - black guitar (but plays all guitars and vocals) Gorran Kendall - on the other guitar (plays all guitars and vocals) They’re absolutely brilliant. Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. The Brighton Police are so used to the crowds that The Big Push garner that they never us d to move us along! Then, when people would call the Police after hearing shouting late at night (Tale of Jenny, Screech & Violet), they would turn up & see that it was “Just Ren” and let him continue! I lived above shop (at the end of Violet’s Tale) & watched the recording from my window (in the dark)! 🙏♥️🙏

Well. this evening started ok and got better. I love this piece from the Big Push. Be well you pair. big hug.

If you're serious about checking out the other band members then both Gorran Kendall (singer of Feeling Good) and Romain Axisa (lead guitar) have their own channels and solo material. I recommend If and Two Pence Shy by Gorran, and Goodbye Good Days and 75 Beats Per Minute by Romain. I feel blessed to have seen these four guys perform around Brighton many times, and on stage. I hope that Ren can return in a better place from his treatment and that they find their way back together again at some point.
