    Gentlemen, excellent piece of work! I can confirm the findings regarding the RWS evo Green and changed to the Barnes TTSX. Surprised that the lighter bullet worked better.

    First time seeing your content. Nicely done. I'm exceptionally fond of a few solid Cu rounds you didn't try, but the TTSX is the only one here that I'm familiar with. A truly nasty thing delivered accurately. Liked and subscribed. Smiled the whole way through at Gingers (I am as well) reviewing ballistic terminal performance.

    Interesting video guys. So many variables but it is generally good news that we have a number of lethal options available. I am sure that you have seen the NatureScot Reasearch Report 1312 report on minimum bullet weight - some interesting results - worth a look if you haven't seen it.

    Thanks for thanking the time & effort to do this enlightening test. As impact velocity is a big factor in how (most) monolithic bullets perform can you give an indication of the MV for the Fox bullets please (I can get a reasonable 100 yard impact figure from that). You mentioned you’d loaded them to ‘factory spec’ but the Fox load data available online give loads but not velocities.

    When you talk about the Nielsen Sonic bullets, and partly also the tin RWS bullet - you consistently say "expand" and talk about expansion - which leaves me wondering why you don't mention that they are designed to fragment - not expand. I think that's a somewhat important distinction in lead free bullet design - that there are two camps, one expanding the other fragmenting, and you need to choose between them, and also evaluate them based on that.

  • @TheDeercast

    @TheDeercast

    Both the RWS and Nielsen Sonic bullets are designed to both expand and fragment - for example, on their website RWS describe their bullet as a “lead free expanding bullet” that “partially fragments”. You can therefore use either terminology as both are correct. Ultimately all bullets are designed to enlarge and create a large wound channel, but some achieve this in different ways.

  • @larshcdk

    @larshcdk

    10 ай бұрын

    I don’t know for sure what RWS marketing says about their tin bullet - but Nielsen sonic is for sure not designed to expand, only fragment. So evaluating it as a expanding bullet by measuring expansion on the shank that is left when the fragments fall off goes against the intended design of ensuring a exit wound. But great test - look forward to hearing more about your results on game! :)
