GTA 4 was really ahead of it's time. For a 2008 game, the amount of details is really impressive. Talking about the story, GTA 4 is like the typical drama movie about a man and his long journey in search of vengeance against the one who ruined his life in the past. GTA 5 is that comedy/action blockbuster movie directed by Michael Bay with three amazing characters ;).

GTA V is more of an arcade sandbox with pretty graphics whereas GTA IV is more realistic in terms of physics and mechanics, I actually prefer GTA IV's graphics since it's more dark and gritty to fit in with the story and stuff.

GTA IV is such a good game, if Rockstar would ever acknowledge making a remastered would be profitable, can't see any other reason why not too. Since the game is so poorly supported by Rockstar they should remaster it. Sometimes taking some steps back is not a bad idea.

Some things are better like the damage to walls and what happens when you shoot tires. But how the water reacted to the helicopter in the bay was completely not realistic neither was the way the cars behave when you drive and how nico behaves is when he falls is an overreaction and also not realistic.

Luke P It's not even looks realistic. Yes, GTA 4 have the best physics in GTA franchise but there is no way that helicopter can reject the water like this on the video. In GTA 5 it's looks exactly like in real life. There is a lot of the videos on YT that shows how it's looks.

Drexter Charles WoW came out same year as GTA SA and it looked way better, Fallout 3 came out same year as GTA IV and looks better, and I think GTA V is one of the best looking games of all time but graphics don't really Matter in a game I think GTA San Andreas is the best GTA game even though it looks like shit compared to GTA V or IV.

I just finished GTA5 for the first time last month. Was it fun? Well yea but nowhere near as awesome as GTA4. Tried to do a second run and quit after a few missions which is something I didnt do with 4. The city in 5 is unmemorable at best while Liberty City was alive and youd fall in love with it so fast.

Jumping out of a moving car is actually pretty realistic in gta V. People don't start flipping around like athletes when they hit the asphalt at a high speed, they'll just kinda slide. Just spend 20 min on liveleak and see for yourself ;)

Most of the changes have a reason, people complained that when you wreck a car enough the handling and speed are shot, you can see there answer to this in GTA 5 and newer dlc cars, instead of being deformed on impact, the bumper comes lose a bit and gets a few scratches.

Bro, if you see carefully.. gta 4's AI is glitched in all exlpressions! (died, fall, shooting, scared, etc.) but in gta v, you'll see the AI isn't glitched in all expressions! Gta 5's AI is so smooth!

traci beacheli played gta 4 for the fun party game modes ive played gta 5 for 3 years so i think its ok to say that right now as i have recently started playing gta 4 AGAIN, that it is more fun not saying their is more stuff to do but i like it better becuse of the better driving physics, ragdoll, weapon sounds, and overall more urban nyc environment the (ex) unlike in gta 5 in gta 4 when driving and you happen turn left the entire car sways into that direction which is called *"weight shift"* while in gta 5 when you turn left the car stays almost completely level which is way unrealistic, they did this in gta 5 so that cars with more high suspensions wont flip over and would be less troublesome in online but having this implementation of this feature makes the game more fun as this can make you drift in heavy vehicles with higher suspensions, as the job that i withold studys alot about the shifting in weight of vehicles; i can say and this is very very realistic, their is also kickboxing in gta 4 you dont die from a punch to neck unlike one game... This is one of the very reasons why i think gta4 is currently better than 5 which has gotten boring....

traci beachel I wonder WHAT content? Booooring yoga? Cycling? Tennis or golf which I played 3 maybe 4 times? GTA IV has darts, bowling, video games (QUBIX) and smashing a car like a pancake and ride it was pure fun. Cars in GTA V are undestructible. Bigger map doesnt mean better.

I'm pretty sure GTA V has the same shadow effects as IV when you're in front of a car. It's one of the first things I noticed when I got it on PC.

in gta 5 only the car you are driving casts shadows, in gta 4 every car casts a shadow

The thing I hate the most about 5, is that every single time you try to run over someone you get the same baked animation from them. Once you're about 10 feet away, even if they're not looking at you, they'll turn around and go into their scared stance before they get hit by your vehicle. Every single npc does this and it's always about 10 feet away from when you're about to hit them. If you try running over a crowd of people the whole crowd at the same time will do the same animation. It's like killing robots that know when you're about to kill them. It's very hard to run over npcs without them doing this. If you're interested, you can try it out for yourself.
