Ha, the only way my wife could get a pay rise was to leave the highly and speciality skilled Aged Care job she has working in for the last 15 years and move to an unskilled factory job that pays about 10% more then she was getting looking after elderly Australians in the twilight years. It was work she used to enjoy doing but the past 2½ years of COVID-19, severe staff shortages and the lack of action by Federal govt to ensure facilities were run to higher standards for the residents and staff have made the profession untenable and so the only way was to leave. Good one _scotty from marketing_ I know, you don't hold a bedpan or wipe the arse of an 85 year old when the involuntarily shit themselves, but there are professionals out there who do. It's also time we *stopped having professional politicians* who become entrenched in the sheltered workshop and then go and fill their pockets with the self appointed perks and jobs for the boy when voted out. How many sitting days last year _scotty from marketing?_ Guess you don't hold governing the country either. Bit useless aren't ya!

In the Election campaign , they had a tactical method they were using to counter ScoMo. As the Libs were trying to wedge Labor to create a divide to attack and use against them so they stuck close to their model . This raises the others stress and they have to make changes then

I was a casual Liberal Voter for a number of years, however I struggled to understand the direction and administration of the Liberal Government under Scott Morrison. I will credit Scott with having an uncanny knack of uniting Australian Society. Whether it was a professional female office worker living in Northcote Victoria or a crusty old Truck Driver up in Gympie, Queensland, they both equally hated Scott Morrison and this government. Impressive, I must say! On the issue of National defense, I would add AUKUS and the absolute scandal underlying our Submarine Contracts. The reality is if we are going to perceive the Chinese Nation as a potential threat to our borders and we are going to defend ourselves against them, we need weapon systems capable of matching theirs . Nuclear powered submarines with stealth technology. That's it. Instead we dicked around telling the French that their Nuclear subs had to be converted to diesel powered subs so that we handicap ourselves in the event of conflict. All for the intent of providing jobs to people living in Christopher Pyne's electorate. We now have to be bailed out by the UK and US and at the same time making an enemy out of France. Je ne pense pas qu'il soit un menteur, je sais!

I believe that the ALP will scrape in on Saturday, and although not my first pick for an alternate they are going to be a whole lot better than the LNP. What will be interesting is that like yourself, many independent media have built their businesses reporting on how terrible the LNP are. I will watch with interest to see how you (and others) report on the ALP. while in power. To be fair to you though, so far you have seemed pretty balanced when it comes to handing out criticisms and if the ICAC gets up it will be from a journalistic point of view, the golden goose that keeps giving.

I disagree with Michael saying that "cost of living" is largely from externalities thus the government has less accountability... If you had 10 years of production sector and consumer sector investment in alternate energy supplies you can significantly buffer against these cost-push inflationary pressures. Significantly.
