It was either supposed to be Bruce Lee or Hsu dying in the film.

Since I was a kid I always struggled to watch this scene. The look on their faces when they realise they're surrounded it's like instantly they knew they wasn't getting away. Such brutal deaths too man. Honestly this movie has more gore and brutal death scenes than any slasher film I can remember seeing

Hsu should have pretended to believe the boss' lies like Cheng later did. The cousins could have left without getting into a fight and inform the police. They should have known that man was a dangerous criminal they couldn't win against just between the 2, he'd likely had a firearm or large resources of backup.

This is the 1982 Cantonese soundtrack, with Pink Floyd music at the beginning of the scene. I assume the one you like must be the 1973 soundtrack, with the Peter Thomas brass band sound.
