I always took the laugh react there to be about how she reacts to her emotional pain by spraying an entire mouthful of whipped cream directly into her mouth, which is relatable in that eating-all-the-ice-cream-after-a-heartbreak way?

Indeed: It's like a metaphorical gun to the head. Plus the show is filmed before a live audience; always has been. So, while studio laughther if often manipulated to best fit the scene, I don't know that the assumption that it is strickly a laugh track is accurate or not.

it's not funny because she was talking about how she wants to die.

yes that is reason the audience laughed
Big Bang Theory actually always had an live Audience while Shooting. It was one of the only Shows left that did that. Sadly we never got Tickets. Anyways, i am pretty sure that "the laugh Tracks" are just the people watching :)
Since I am learning Chinese and then watching someone react to something that has Chinese in it and that person actually knowing Chinese was awesome to watch.
The first season only had 17 episodes because there was a writers’ strike back then. A lot of shows had short seasons in 2007-08.

Lots of great shows were affected by that strike, in the end those crew just had to salvage what they can and end the series quickly. Some of them left the bad ending, like Prison Break, Lost, Heroes, etc. TBBT and other shows like Breaking Bad were lucky ones.
My son has very much the same traits of social interaction, adheres to routine, no filter of what he says. Highly focused on topics of certain interests. He cant read others feelings much like Sheldons character. He is diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. I dont think many will agree that sheldon is or isn't possibly Aspergers Syndrome which is also on the spectrum but knowing my son I can very much relate to Sheldon and how the other characters interact with him. The character's developments through the series I enjoyed alot .
By the way, as far as I know they don't use a laugh track. It's filmed in front of a live audience. Sometimes you can see the actors waiting for the laughter to die down before delivering their next line. Now, I would bet there's some editing involved and they add some laughter at times but I wouldn't call it a "laugh track". I think at the moment you were talking about, the audience laughed because Penny sprayed whipped cream into her mouth directly.

that part still shouldn't be laughed at you know. she said she wants to die

it is a live audience - i watched taping online - it is like a play the audience is all hyped up and they will laugh more than they might have if it was not live
I think the laugh track at Penny saying she wanted to "crawl in a hole and die" was in reference to her spraying the Redi-Whip in her mouth.
Its a live audience, not a laugh track, and I hear that if the audience doesn't laugh at something, they don't use it in the show.
Normal people - watches one episode per day Me - finishing entire season in one day
6:22 That “吓死我了!” is the most accurate pronunciation.
Its filmed infront of a live studio audence fun fact if in rehearsals they done a scene and the crowd dont laugh they wont put it in the show
Finally done with season 1!
I wonder how many people are now familiar with Schrodinger's Cat thanks to this show. (I'm one!)

That was exactly me
The laugh track was because of how she inelegantly sprayed that cream in her mouth after saying that, but I get why one wouldn't exactly think of that as the funniest moment ever ;)
6:21 - Sheldon's "哎 呀!吓 死 我 了!" was pretty good!
Dang, it said it was posted 6 seconds before I opened my app.
It’s not a laugh track it’s a live audience
Rhank you for saying that about thst he didn't fix anything and that he just fixed a relationship with Penny's ex. I had noticed that point about what he did, too.
The Big Bang Theory never used laugh tracks. As was still customary when it debuted, it was filmed in front of a live studio audience. The people thought it was funny that Penny poured whipped cream straight into her mouth.
Long live concrete.
I love this show. Its so funny. Can't wait to see your reaction to season 2 ❤️
in season two the writers give penny more of an edge so it makes it even funnier - season one was more of the writers learning about the characters they created - most season ones are like that
when a woman asks a man a question like that it is best not to answer and just listen - i learned that from experience
I'm betting Howard taught Sheldon the wrong Chinese on purpose because he thought it would be funny.
The ending of the Big Bang Theory season 1 always makes me laugh 😂
Every episode of Big Bang Theory was filmed in front of a live studio audience.
is it still a laugh track, if it's actually a live audience reacting in real-time? The decision to laugh at that point was the audience's choice.

Yes, there is still an audio recording that is a separate track than the actors'; and often a live studio audience is told to laugh, especially as they have to watch the same scene multiple times.
I am so addicted to your big bang reaction!!! Always check your channel to see if there is any upload. Can't wait for season 2
Did you know that Penny and Leonard actually dated in real life for awhile? Now she is married to some super rich Equestrian.
I think the laugh track was meant for the whipped cream
Another great episode! Can't wait until you start season 2.
Great video! I enjoyed your reactions ❤
1:57 - You'd think Howard would try to use Penny's ex-boyfriend's iPod to try to find the blog.

@@sirdogegd9567 That looked like a 6th/7th gen iPod classic. They were made to be like feature limited PDA's (you can store notes, calendars, etc on it) and considering the time period in the show (early 2000's) most people would be storing notes and calendar stuff on whatever portable device had at the time.
The Big bang theory is played in front of a live audience...i don't know if they used a laughing track over here...

might not be mean intentioned but is kinda racist sheldon assumed that chinese descendants would know mandarin and that all people would know the language of their ancestry country, and he was speaking it wrong adding insult to injury

"Why the laugh track there? That's not funny!" yeah this show has some very inappropriate moments of laugh tracks (or is it laugh prompts? since there is actual live audience)
