In an emotional and joyous atmosphere, Greece proudly hosted the inaugural Biennale of Contemporary Keramics on June 7, 2024, in Santorini. The event attracted a diverse audience from state representatives to art lovers and media and featured an exceptional showcase of 20 original artworks by leading Greek and international ceramic artists, all inspired by the archaeological richness of the Akrotiri excavation Site and the Artifacts and Frescos of the Prehistoric Thera.
The Biennale of Contemporary Keramics 2024, “Clay Echoes: Unearthing Hidden Narratives," is the first-of-its-kind biennale in Greece that emphasizes the nation’s cultural heritage, with ceramics connecting deeply with historical roots. This connection is symbolized by the adaptation of the letter 'K' from the Greek word “ΚΕΡΑΜΟΣ” to reflect the foundational element of Ceramics.
