It's interesting to me that this prominent clergyman treats Romans chapter one in the way he does here. What St. Paul states is that God gives sinners up to practices that will harm their bodies: "God gave them up to dishonorable passions," that is, to same-sex sexual relationships. Such relationships are not only dishonorable but harmful to the body. And in spite of medicine taken to reduce the harmful effects of homosexuality, the bodily effects remain a societal problem. They are "contrary to nature" and therefore lead to infection and anguish. Why does God give them up to these passions? Paul says that it is because they have ignored God and His good plan for our lives.

UMC has fallen to the patterns of the world. UMC is now an activist organization that promotes unity,DEI,Climate,racism,etc. The mission of the church is to teach the Word of God,redemption and salvation. Romans 12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. To offer your body as a living sacrifice is to turn from homosexuality and other sin, the transformation from the renewing of your mind will turn you from homosexuality and other sin. If you are a practicing homosexual your mind has not been renewed and there has been no transformation.
