Caught the end of this track on a local indie Detroit radio station. Glad I had time to shazam it so I could find out who it was. The lyrics are just great and I really like the guitars.

You heard this on a Detroit station?! Wow! I think I would die if I heard something new and cool from a relatively unknown group or artist on a station here. The last time I remember radio being that in tune to new stuff was probably 20+ years ago when 89X was decent and all the alt rock bands were coming out in the early 90's! What station was playing The Beths here in Detroit?

As someone who used to live in Detroit and is currently back in MI for a couple weeks (have been gone for 13 years), the main commercial stations were very disappointing. I found a college radio station that came in OK around 89.5, but I don’t recall exact Fx. I heard The Beths earlier this year on WMNF 88.5, out of Tampa, which has a number of shows that play great, new music

Just heard this song on a random radio station, looked up the lyrics, never heard of The Beths. That being said, I love it! More please!

I was thinking Bettie Serveert, but you're right. More The Muffs.

The way the drummer sniffs the drumstick at 2:58 had me cracking up. Man this brought me back to the Pinkerton days. Great stuff!

Yet another stellar achievemnet. Great fun music with a smart self-depricating lyric. Outstanding arrangement and production, interesting dynamics, fun hand claps, nice backing vocals with a sick guitar sound and solo. Can't get enough of this band, you kids are killing it. Some chords for you in my comment below.

Something about them is so infectious like more sonuniquley than many other catchy bands....their sings get stucknin my head for days and days atva time more than most....maybe the harmonies

I would say the Pixes, from whom Weezer stole so many ideas. The Beths are clearly inspired by the Boston scene in the early 90s (Pixiers, Lemonheads, Belly, Juliana Hatfield, Dinosaur jr...).

Ok, I'll do my best here - verse D to G, then for "I've got something on my chest" = Bm, A,G.A, (repeat the verse D to G) then for "Please don't try to guess" = Bm. C, G, to A, then chorus = Bm, A, D, E, to Em7, A, back to D. ( repeat all the for 2nd verse) / for the bridge It's tricky, the first "Nobody Knows" = A to G then a quick A, Bm, A, G, - repeat as needed, stay on the last G , then to B Flat for end of the bridge - back to D and the verse section but during the last verse, "Please don't try to guess" starts the same, Bm to C but then goes right to the chorus part = Bm, A, D, E, G.A.D.etc. for choruses, to the D.G part for the outro. Good luck....

@@jackmack7533 Very possibly Em7 or even both with different voicings. The vocal harmonies definitely spell out an Em7 chord in the same register as the guitar as well. They all went to jazz school so m7s and ii-V-I's come naturally right? ;)
