@@hooooman. He skipped 30x in the test shots. it went from 20x to 50x. I agree that 30x is the sweet spot for very usable zoom shots for the 22u

With no doubt samsung space zoom is really doing a great job... after fully zoomed in you still manage to get a usable pic...

2:58 theres a huge difference... you can literally very define eyes in the s22 ultra while in the xiaomi is just a black dot, also the detail in the s22 ultra is superior.

It's impressive how the Mi 11 ultra is already 1 year older than the other 2 but the camera quality is still very similar, I'm waiting for what will be the results in the Mi 12 Ultra.

P50 was launched last year but they delayed it. And there's nothing about being slightly older or newer. S21 Ultra is also one year old but it still has a 10x optical zoom and it's still very similar to the S22 Ultra. Year to year upgrades are really overrated. The reason Xiaomi has better results at 5x is that it has 5x optical zoom. So at 5x the S22 Ultra is using it's 3x telephoto lens and digitally zooming in until ut reaches 10x. I think zoom will be much better when they add variable pericope lens. A zoom lens that can anywhere between zoom between 3x and 10x would bring it to the next level. Currently only Sony has that but I can see it being implemented by others in the future.

Did you smear butter on the Huawei's lenses to even the score up? Some of the photo comparisons were comical, especially at 2:46. I've owned the Mi 11 Ultra and tried the P50 pro, there was virtually no difference in image quality so not sure what the photographer was doing to get such poor results.

Did you find that Huawei had a colour accuracy problem and how were the general quality of the images? I just can't get myself to like the Samsung S24 Range. They are so boring and boxy. I tested S22 Ultra against my old Xiaomi Mi Note 10 from 2019 today and was surprised to find out that in some of the scenarios the Mi Note 10 wasn't just better, it literally wiped the floor with the S22 Ultra. I'm super confused

la diferencia del zoom 100x de s22 ultra al s21 ultra (un telefono del 2021) son muy muy pequeñas, aveces imperceptibles porque este año no hubo un avance en ese aspecto y el s21 ultra tambien tenia el 3x y el 10x optico, ya no seria de que telefono lo hace mejor, sino que compañia ._. xd

Quick question, was all the cameras on these phones properly clean in all tests as just a little bit of grease from a finger can really mess up the result??

Yes, all phones are checked before and during the tests. The thing is, the photos after were normal but we left them in to show the inconsistency. If we take tons of photos each time to get the best out of a phone, there would be no point. That's why when sometimes phones screw up, we prefer to leave those in if the rest is normal.

I just got the p50 pro it doesnt perform as in your vids....does yours have defects or somethin? Cuz the amount of blur you had its just ridiculous at this point on the P50 pro

If you are refering to the blurry images in the zoom test. we assume that it had something to do with the very low temperatures. But still, it's a very strange phenomenon. It might have been a software problem that got fixed by now though! 🙂

P40 pro+ should've been in this test. That's the first phone to have a 10X optical zoom. (8.8x technically but it's close)

Something is off with the P50 Pro, i have it and takes a way better photos, this is not even close how P50 Pro really is...

im not any brand fanboy. but im glad i have a mi 11 ultra. i had it from last year. glad my money put on something like this. it will last longer in the 2022. image processing and image sensor have been something of a debate and must have feature since nokia lumia and sont ericson. conclusion is an honour to be having a great cameraphone xiaomi mi 11 ultra. although people may debate on it being a chinas phone, worthiness of miui, lacks of courage to holdinhg such a massive camerahonce in hands as well, and among all its really a performing cameraphone.. i really wish this phones will last longer .. and it stays like a legend .. such as lumia 1050, pureview 360,

I don't even use it for that. 50x is the furthest I zoom for moon shots.

The people who say P50 Pro is not like that don't understand that Huawei has downgraded the zoom. P50 Pro does not have a pericope lens. It only had a 3.5x telephoto camera. So it's logical that it has these results. And the Xiaomi has 5x optical zoom that's why it has better results than S22 Ultra at 5x because at 5x S22 Ultra is using it's 3x telephoto and zooming in digitally. Even at 9.9x, S22 Ultra still uses digital zoom from 3x telephoto. Only when it reaches 10x and beyond does it use it's 10x optical zoom camera. Xiaomi's advantage here is that it has a 48MP higher resolution and bigger sensor compared to S22 Ultra's 10MP lower resolution and smaller sensor. So even if it has less optical zoom the higher resolution gives it sharper results on digital zoom. S20 Ultra also had a 48MP sensor for the pericope lens. Samsung had to use a smaller sensor for persiscope lens because 10x lens and 5x lenses are quite different. The sensor used for 5x lens lays flat on the phone while the sensor used for Samsung's 10x lens is placed vertically. So if they use a bigger sensor, the phone has to be thicker and thicker to fit the sensor inside. And I think the 10x on the S22 Ultra is the same setup as the S21 Ultra but they improved it with software. Despite that it's still amazing. If they could use larger and a little higher resolution sensor I think it would be even more amazing and clear than now.

Take the 10x optical zoom of Samsung with a pinch of salt. Huawei p40 pro+ has it too but it gets activated in 8.8x

If they focus on the closest to farthest picture they can take it will be awesome.

coming from the P30 Pro and P40 Pro. The P50 Pro's zoom performance is utterly disappointing.

Nahh. The s20u ultra had 4.5× optical zoom, so the 100× looked like a smudge on the screen. There's a reason why they dialed back to 50× in the Note20u

I realy like the shaper and clear zoom of samsung....am wishing for the s233ultra

4:05 a quick heads up on german privacy laws (just wanna mention it so you dont get sued or anything) 1. as a generall rule of thumb is theres less than 20 people in the shot it can be interpreted as filming someone specific, which requires a expression of consent, preferably in written form (sollution-> blur the faces) 2. never ever show car license plates, filming traffic is not allowed (sollution-> blur) just a heads up. some peopel take that this shit super serious (historical reasons i guess) cheers

Maybe a little bit of the photo processing problem, its looks like its raw and the huawei's best photo processing isn't working

I think this isn't right as I dont bave that problem with p50, maybe lens was not clean or didn't updaye the phone. Also it has 200x zoom

The mi 11 ultra did awesome job here

P50 Pro it is somewhat better on zoom than S22 Ultra. But here I saw the opposite of the real thing...

My suggestion- use individual tripod for mobiles rather than all together as used in your video. Because mobile which is in the centre has more stability than left or the right side mobile's
