I have problems with it but I also respect it to an extent. Twilight princess being number 13 is the biggest atrocity, especially as the only criticism was repetitive wolf link combat. However Ocarina of Time not being number one? Wow that's actually impressive and took some balls. I have never and probably never will say which I feel is the best because I think each is different to truly claim that, but I am sick and tired of hearing how Ocarina is number one because it's not. The game is great but any of the predecessors could compete with it, I am just ready for people to take off those rose glasses already. Plus Skyward Sword beat Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? That game is the most repetitive, Ghirahim is just odd. The crafting systems that they started were good but too early and too farmy to actually be enjoyable.

My problem with Majora's Mask is the overall feeling of restriction. Zelda games at heart, to me, are about the sense of exploration at your own pace. Exploring every region, every town, every scenic spot and taking time to appreciate the beautifully crafted environments. Majora's Mask took that feeling away for me mainly because of the imminent feeling of time ticking away and thus the peaceful freedom of earlier titles was sacrificed because of the 3 day time cycle - which I think is awesome if you're into that kinda thing - just not for me.

Totally agree. I see why people like it - it has a lot of interesting characters and let's you experience being and seeing the different races - but the time crunch really stresses me out and did exactly what you said... Prevented me from exploring as I would have wanted. And you basically NEED a walkthrough to play it, annoyingly

@@juniorpedraza4805 I still think it's a good game but I found I couldn't plsy without a walkthrough, especially for side missions, and that really bummed me out as I don't like having to resort to walkthroughs - I want to be surprised and experience things as they happen. I am playing right now as a second time and it's less stressful but not without the stress from the time and very frustrating a lot of the time. Every time I think I'm enjoying myself I find out I missed something or did something wrong and lost a lot of progress and its infuriating. But the good moments are great

Agreed. Twilight Princess was one of my favorite Zeldas, and while I understand people don't rank it high, it still did a large number of things right - it took advantage of the Gamecube/Wii's capabilities to create a bigger, more intricate Hyrule, it brought nifty new items into the mix, Midna was one of the series' best companions, it had a great final boss fight, and it even had a slew of great little mini-games when taking a break from the adventure. It's almost a little sad that it gets constantly pelted for its wolf segments.

(BOTW is a good demo but they forgot to put a Story, Fun, Reward or things like that it make for a game that become really boring quickly.) TP is actually the 3rd most hated 3D Zelda. Botw and SS are more hated but TP has hater too. And it definetly deserved it. Twilight Princess is way too easy and the overworld is very empty. Until the gerudo desert, it copied ocarina of time with extra sub gameplays. And after that, it's more like a Marathon of dungeons. TP is very uncreative.

​@@thegamechumps6126 yeah, I think that if it wasn't for the eternal intro or the light bugs to return to the human form it would have been my favourite zelda. The thing I don't hate but i do dislike a bit about it is that the relationship between link and zelda is next to non existant, like, purely professional, and the supporting characters outside midna are kinda weak, yet somehow this link is one of my favourites. Now I'm playing Ocarina of Time with 4K textures in 3DS emulator and feels incredibly good.

It would be interesting to see this list made by someone old enough to live through them all when each title was brand new and just released. I guarantee it would be A LOT different.

I remember playing the original, then when adventures of link came out it was phenomenal. I poured so many hours into it and when I beat it, I had a great sense of accomplishment considering its one of the hardest games ever made and definitely the most difficult Zelda game.

Well, it is the worst 3D Zelda I've played. Not to say that TP is bad by any means, it's just that Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Ocarina, and BotW are outstanding. (All strong candidates for the best game in their respective consoles.) I haven't played Skyward Sword yet, tough. Still, I agree that TP deserved to be higher on the list. At the very least, it should rank higher than Phantom hourglass and 4swords, I think. ^_^

@@joaomarcoscosta4647 Idk if you have your nostalgia glasses on, and maybe I'm just wrong, but I'm my opinion TP is a lot better than both Oot and WW. Oot is definitely an amazing game, especially for it's time, but compared to other games made later, like TP, SS, and BotW, it just doesn't compare. WW was a great game but I feel like it could've been a lot longer... Maybe I did miss a lot of extra content, I wasn't trying to speed through the game, it just kinda happened. It's by far the shortest 3D mainline Zelda game, and because of that, you aren't able to see character progression like you can in other games (Groose in SS (you really need to play SS), Midna in TP, Zelda in BotW, etc.), But each to his own I guess :)

The Phantom Hourglass was so fun.

OoT easily the best game ever created by Nintendo. Never ever there will be a Zelda with such legendary atmosphere, it is hard to even express in words what a giant of a game it was.

He's right. TP is boring, full of backtracking, and uses an obnoxiously "pale yellow and dark brown" color palette just to make the whole game look like "Twilight" only it doesn't look very good and gets annoying very fast...

The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past is the definitive 2D zelda for me

I'd have BOTW probably like number 5 or something. It's cool that they changed things up for both Zelda and for open world games, but for me it didn't really scratch the Zelda itch.

I am so glad they they are doing the remake of Links Awakening. It is my all time favorite, and was the game that came with my original game boy. If it does well, I believe Nintendo will continue to release remakes while working on the next new release.

@@metamarx8409 Point? That's $79.99 here ($92.xx after tax), and everyone who even remotely likes Zelda in the slightest bit will buy it, just like everyone in the US who likes Zelda. Yes a lower price point would be nice but it's a fully remade, 1st party, "AAA" Zelda game, of course it's gonna be $60, it's not a 3DS game.

Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks are two of my favorite Zelda games. Twilight Princess is personally my favorite game of all time, but Spirit Tracks holds a special place in my heart. Spirit Tracks was the first Zelda game I had ever beaten, had some pretty sweet puzzles, the bosses were actually really good, and the music... MY GOD THE MUSIC. I’ll actually listen to the ost of Spirit Tracks every now and then, and the final boss music sends chills down my spine every time I hear it. Twilight Princess is just... Epic, as KingK has said before. I love the locations, Lake Hylia and The Twilight Realm to name a few of my favorites. The music is also amazing, and some tracks are downright terrifying to fit some of the themes of the game. A lot of people think that the overworld is barren, but all the secret caves, grottos, and bugs got me exploring it like crazy. Twilight Princess definitely has some of the best secret caves. The Dungeons are also incredible in terms of game design as well as visuals, and the bosses, while not all winners, make you feel like you’re taking down these colossal beasts. There’s plenty more to discuss with these two games, but this comment is already very long. These two games are both fantastic in their own ways, and if this mans and any one else doesn’t share that same opinion, then that’s perfectly fine. Just wanted to share mine though.

The moment I saw him place Twilight princess so low, I said, “oh hell naw let me check the comments sections. I better see people going H.A.M. for TP”

1) Twilight Princess, 2) Breath of the Wild, 3) Skyward Sword, 4) Wind Waker, 5) Majora’s Mask, 6) Ocarina of Time, 7) a Link to the Past, 8) Adventure of Link, 9) the Legend of Zelda, and 10) Link’s Awakening! That’s all folks! Oracles, Seasons, and Four Swords, all come in last, if at all to me. Let’s hope all 10, along with the Castlevania and the Tmnt games, are released on the switch! Then I’ll be very happy! These three titles, along with Mario Bro’s, was Nintendo’s staple and what made their money.. that is, until other consoles adapted them and Nintendo stopped.

Into you - Close minded because I disagree with an unpopular opinion lol? I hear where your coming from, but like I said the “majority” of Zelda fans would agree. Didn’t say all. I’ve played both Four Swords and Twilight and there’s no arguing Twilight is better statistically, but that doesn’t mean someone can’t like Four Swords more. Just that it’s inferior is all.

Twilight Princess at number 13, and Wind Waker at number 8!? This is officially not a true Zelda game list.

Not only is it whack seeing the DS games ranked higher than twilight princess, but saying that spirit tracks is better than phantom hourglass is just wrong.

I personally found twilight princess and wind waker better than Skyward sword. Edit but the top 5 is fair.

@@kfcgamingg1765 it is not, it's barely a zelda game, look for the comment I putted here in this video I explain why Botw even tho is one of the best is not the best, a lot of people complained about the weapon breaking system, in terms of story it barely tells you something and in combat it resembles more a dark souls or an Elder Scrolls game, also 4 same looking short dungeons and no need for the master sword to kill Gannon, some zelda games revolve around that thing specifically. It is a zelda, but is not enough zelda. Yes is more like the original but the original had 8 dungeons with items you needed to continue on them, Botw does not, yes Botw has an real open world but you don't really need to explore it to finish the game, you can go straight to Gannon and kill him. It is good but it is definitely not the best

None of these reasons say that botw is not a good zelda game, at it's core (meaning LOZ1 and the devs vision) botw is what zelda was supposed to be, all the critics you name are not objectively bad, just design choices that you dislike, which doesn't make them bad. Plus, you play with words if you say you don't need to explore the world, you are heavilly encouraged to explore it and fighting ganon with only 3 hearts is an impossible task for any gamer that loads the game for the 1st time, all the critics you pointed out are opinions, not facts. Tho i respect your opinion.

If you want to go by critics and numbers OoT wins with 99 on metacritic and Botw with 98. Done. But that does not make OoT a better game in the minds of a lot of people, certainly it does not makes it the better on your opinion. And in my opinion those 2 are not even the better zelda, my favorite is Majora's and I'm not trying to convince you that Majora's is better than OoT or BotW because it is not, yet I like it most than any other zelda. In the same way you think Botw is the best but it really is not. No game is perfect but they hay their own strengths and weaknesses and every person has its own, but in general opinion is clear that as most of the comments in this video TP and WWHD should be above SS and that's is what everybody thinks because is clear SS did not had such things as their own style or story or dungeons Tha rmade an impact in people, personally I think a lot of dungeons on SS are really good, better than some on WW or TP but the game did not made that impact on me as what OoT or MM did. You acuse me of nostalgia driven perspective fine, I can acuse you of hype driven perspective and you can't do a thing to change it. What we can't change is those things that the game does. And even if you protect those things I said about the story or the weapon system, even if they are there for design reasons they still make the game better or worse. Nobody denies the way OoT makes feel on a epic quest to save hyrule but you can't deny that the game takes you by the hand exploring almost all places one after the other, and that was by design to tell the story that got you feeling like the hero. They sacrificed one thing to get the other and Botw sacrifices almost all the things that makes a zelda game a zelda game. Open word exploration? There is another zelda game that makes that better, non linearity? There is another game that makes that better. You can't deny this things with nostalgia or hype those things are true even if you like it or not. So please try and analyze the facts on what makes every game a zelda game and Botw is no zelda enough to be called the best zelda game.

@@brissiebeaver4382 Its intentional to keep the right flow of first party AAA games to keep the console competitive and financially profitable. They COULD do a ton of remasters and sell a small fortune, but they won't because that's their safety net for profit in a scenario where 3rd parties might start dipping.

I have a personal fondness for dark narratives, because they more closely resemble the real world. That's why Twilight Princess is my personal favorite.

Call me a scrub but Wind Waker's spot shoulda been higher. It's a really great game that challenged the style of previous Zelda titles, that also had a great plot that tugs at your heartstrings towards the end. Although I do agree that there are a couple better games, it shouldn't be as low as it was.

The Oracle games and Minish Cap are massively underrated, and should be much higher on this list.

@@cax1175 It is better than breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild does not play like a Zelda game. So in your opinion a game that does not play anything like any Zelda game is a the better Zelda game? Then Grand Theft auto is a better Zelda game even better that breath of the Wild.

Firstly I respect your opinion. However, I just don't know how anyone could put BoTw ahead of OoT. OoT not only revolutionised the Zelda franchise, but the entire gaming industry. What has BoTw done that's different to any other game we've played on the market today? I know it boils down to more then that when picking a game as your favourite, but OoT was a shear masterpiece. It was one of those games that comes out and just gives you a completely new experience in gaming. I think it stands head and shoulders above all Zelda games.

Hot take: a link between worlds is better than a link to the past. This is coming from someone born in the 90s and grew up with link to the past.
