MI resident here...not sure about the other resorts but the one in Sandusky does offer a bunkbed suite with the bunked room themed with African wildlife

The best things, my response: 1. Lots to do. I have done a lot of the activities in the past. But being 31 years old, I'm not into all the fun stuff as I once was. But when you have kids, there's always something to keep them busy. I will someday have to try the outdoor park. Ususally, when I go to the Kalahari, it's during the colder season for conferences. I have looked to go during the summer, the prices are too high for me. If I go there during a conference, the rates are often lower. 2. Kalahari, I agree and I enjoy that they have dining options, but ususally when I've stayed there, the conference provided the meals. So if the meals are included in my reservation, I normally eat with the conference. If I eat outside of the conference, then it's extra money that I'm then spending. I was blessed because one of the last times I went to the Kalahari for a conference, the Staybridge hotel (where I stayed at) across the street offered dinner Monday through Wednesday at no charge. The food was much better at the Staybridge as opposed to eating the conference food at the Kalahari. 3. African theme, I enjoy that the hotel displays stuff from the country of Africa especially if it's homemade. I wish they'd sell more of that in their shops. That to me is awesome when art pieces are authentic. However, if I'm coming to the Kalahari as an outside guest to use their waterpark, I was shocked when I see that one waterpark ticket goes for like $65 dollars. That is crazy, but I'm sure it's all supply and demand. If supply is limited, they will charge higher prices. For me because I'm an adult that doesn't have kids, I have more options of hotels that I can stay at in terms of price. While the resorts are nice, it's sometimes the hotels that are just across the street that might offer you a better price and a better experience.

I actually have never heard of Kalahari resorts. I am going to go look for your previous videos on the subject to learn more. Sounds like a fun place!

I’ve been to the Sandusky location many times and I would like to visit at least one other location just to experience the differences. I currently have a friend at the Texas location and they say it is absolutely massive and there is much more to do than the Sandusky location. When I was young, 12 or so, our Sandusky Kalahari had 3 sit down restaurants; last time I was there (2019) it was down to 2 and they converted one into a gigantic gift shop which was slightly disappointing because as I remember that former restaurant had the best breakfast buffets. Overall Kalahari can make for a fun overnight stay but Staying 2-3 days for me is the sweet spot to do anything/everything you want to do. They normally also have special events going on throughout the day!

It all depends on the amount of space that's probably available. I believe the one in Texas was the fourth location built? By that time, they might of had a larger budget to work with. It also depends on location. The Kalahari that's closest to me is the Wisconsin Dells. They could always try to build larger, but then they'd have to demolish their existing footprint, plus there's so many other hotels in the area. Wisconsin Dells is called the waterpark capital of the world for a reason. It's not like the Kalahari in the Dells is the only waterpark to go to etc.

We stay there all time. I like all their waterslides.. And day passes.. You also get free tickets to Timharti Zoo. But they should include Tom Fooleries indoor park if you stay their. I stay in 2 queen and fold out couch with balcony. The rooms arent theme oriented considering its African theme hotel? The art area has been closed over year and half. We went Mt. Olympus too that place was scary. Full germs. Drugs ghetto downhill. So sad.. Wilderness we went in April the Take Fleight ride is a must do for everyone.

The worst things, my response: 1.Expensive-to try to find a good deal, you could try to see if there's a conference coming up at the Kalahari Resort. Often if there is a conference will have conference rate for the Kalahari. 2. Rooms-I remember your room tour on youtube, I felt that they were a bit dated. It didn't seem to be the most functional. I would hate being in a room near the hallway by the front check in desk near the lobby, that's a high traffic area when people are walking to the large game room. I wish the rooms in the Dells were also adjoining. There's always the option of two queen beds, but what if sometimes it's nice if you can book that extra room. Perhaps if the prices are too high, one way to combat against this is if the Kalahari could expand onto their hotel. The Kalahari in the Dells I believe is the smallest as they only have about 750 rooms. Other Kalahari's have near or well over a 1,000 rooms. The reason why I say this is because they have all this convention space as they expanded it, but often the entire hotel is sold out where then you have to stay elsewhere. If more rooms are built, you'd have a higher chance of having a surplus during certain weeks which then prices could be lowered in order to reach the equilibrium of supply vs demand. 3. Spread out, I feel you. It often takes up to a half hour to get from one part to the other part. So hopefully your room isn't on one side. I also don't care as much for the lobby, when they inserted a couple restaurants/shops, I feel it's so cluttered now. The wilderness, I'll have to check out someday, it's been about 20 years since I've last been there. I live in Wisconsin and tend to participate in a lot of disability conferences as a way to give back. I have high functioning autism by the way. Where are most of their conferences held? At the Kalahari. So while it's nice meeting up with friends, networks, and other people I haven't seen in awhile, the Kalahari itself has become a bit of an eye sore for me. I've been there too much.

I appreciate your sharing some information about attending conferences there. You make an extremely good point about the number of rooms (and also about there not be any adjoining rooms), especially now that they have expanded the convention center. Also, thank you for sharing the things that make staying there and attending conferences there personal to you. I appreciate hearing from viewers with different needs, as I am currently struggling with a physical disability myself, which may end up being permanent and could really affect my ability to travel in the future.

My Personal Top Best: At the Kalahari, there is something to do for everyone. Since I don't drive, I have a bit more independence when I'm at the Kalahari. And you better like walking (as I don't mind it as it could be a 20 minute hike). My family might want to sleep in and I could walk out of my room to go to the conference for an early morning breakfast or I can walk to the AMC movie theater to see an afternoon show etc. The Kalahari may be expensive, but they have everything which is very nice for an all inclusive resort. My Personal Worst: At the Kalahari, sometimes the Pricing is just too high. I was looking to perhaps book a room for my sister and her friend this summer and the room rate per night was like a few hundred dollars. We could easily stay at another hotel for half the cost if not less. Also, the rooms in the Kalahari, the functionality could be better. If I'm bringing my friends, it would be nice if they'd offer adjoining rooms or something where you could have two queen beds in each room. Each person often prefers having their own bed and my sister would not like to sleep in the same room as me. She is a light sleeper and I snore.

It can be tough to get a good deal at Kalahari. They tend to offer more add-on packages than actual deals. But they do have a special offers tab on their website, so check there, and just keep checking because they add things all the time.
