Drogoz gameplay is always amazing to watch

I have never had luck with combustible. I can usually get 30 kill games with fusillade and wyrm jets, but I usually don't go above 10 with combustible. It completely kills your ability to spit salvo, and the damage and cc aren't worth losing that. Radial knockback is very unpredictable, so it's hard to do anything good with it.

I’ve recently tried playing him but I’m having a really hard time to hit the spit- I either miss it, or hit it too early🤔 any tips there? Also how do you stay up in the air for so long? I seem to run out of fuel very fast.

Drogoz Main of 3 years here. I can confidently say Combustible is not worth taking due to exactly what Andrew was incidentally showcasing here. Although combustible does BIG satisfying numbers, it rarely ever secures kills due to 2 big factors: 1. Fire Spit does not apply cauterize, meaning that 900 burst you just did is not gonna go long without being healed. That extra 300 damage is a burn, taking 2 seconds to apply. The resulting 1200 damage that you've dealt with 1 fire spit may seem like a lot, especially when you spread it out across multiple targets due to fire spit's large AoE, but this damage is near inconsequential with any area healer like IO, Grover, Lillith, Rei, even Furia with solar blessing can effectively counter this damage. 2. The knockback from the fire spit does not mesh well with the rest of your kit. Knockback is an EXCELLENT cc when used correctly, but when going for as much damage as possible with your fire spits, that knockback is going to be more of a hindrance to you and only a minor inconvenience to the enemy team. With drogoz, you are rewarded for your primary accuracy with extremely high dps. 850 every .85 seconds. The problem with combustible is that you are sacrificing the potential to unleash that incredible DPS for a little extra damage on an ability that already does pretty inconsequential damage. NOW, what I will say is that fire spit is an EXCELLENT ability for finishing kills from tricky angles, and combustible definitely enchances this aspect of the ability, but when you COULD be taking fusillade and putting out damage numbers that can merk a squishy character so fast you don't need a finisher move, it really seems hard to choose combustible. Fire spit already does an incredible AoE burst of damage, it doesn't need anything extra, but by taking fusillade you are enhancing your primary fire AS WELL AS your salvo, making both do significantly more damage with direct impacts, with the latter being much easier to take advantage of this bonus with due to the increased flight speed of salvo rockets. Since your fire spit no longer knocks targets back, it's much more reliable to combine both abilities and get that 900 burst from fire spit on top of that salvo damage, killing out any low health characters quickly and efficientlly, with room to focus a specific person with the salvo, getting direct impacts and doing insane damage to that person. Wyrm jets is just bad. It makes you fast. Drogoz is already fast. Buy nimble. This is more than enough. You are depriving yourself of a damage boost from either other talent. You are making your life harder by making your shots harder to hit at the higher speeds you are flying at. Wyrm jets is a lot like playing cardio on viktor. You are incentivizing yourself to play hit and run on a character that is way better at hitting than running. You are actively choosing a playstyle that will result in less overall damage due to shorter engagements and less risk/reward due to the fact that you can just run away when you're low- ending the egagement with no net gain for your team and wasting your time and ability cooldowns. All of these talents are viable and can win games, but this is a case of 1 talent being far and away better than the others to the point of the other talents being bad in comparison. There is a niche for every talent, but with Drogoz, fusillade will carry you through any engagement if you are playing a good main damage for your team, landing your shots and punishing the enemy team for not having enough shields or healing to eat thousands of damage in seconds.

That's very well written, even tho I still play Combustible because its fun to knock people around. Do you have any suggestions for a Fusillade loadout, or do you use something like the one Andrew has in the video?

Most good drogoz players, especially in high elo, all use combustible. When you’re able to read the knockback of combustible hits, it’s a free airshot for an actually good drogoz. I myself am not very good at him, but I have played with and against many good dia+ drogoz and nearly all of them use combustible.

I would argue wyrm jets isn't bad, just very situational. It just needs a no hitscan comp and good map like Jaguar falls then Wyrm jets Drogoz is unkillable. Though you also need a good aim as well to hit from far away otherwise you will just be feeding.

the thing is, if you do poke damage and they heal it up, you're still drogoz. your ult is better than a lot of support ults and also charges faster. i don't think it's better than fusillade but i do think you're heavily overlooking how valuable extra free damage on a character with a Free Pick ult is, and it's definitely not "far and away" from fus.

maybe try drogoz speed boost when touching certain roofs? you''ll have to experiement at which fps though. It would be crazy when you figure that out.

The only time I use arcane wording is when there is a sky or tyra on the other team and even then it’s eh

spit size maybe? I'd use salvo separately from spit since spit scatters them. And yeah, that ying ult on final saved them, since ability damage doesn't caut

I truly know why I main him- my current fav build is a full aggressive combustible build: rain of fire 4, condescension 4, masterful 4, reload card 2 and fuel 1. Buy life rip and trigger scent, and haven vs androxus or morale boost vs multi tank comps

Horizontally, yes but vertically, no. If you want to fly upwards faster then pick Wyrm jets. Though, I think jump boost from lethality could also help with vertical flight

I like combustible best and also find it satisfying to play, but comp dependent for sure.

Why does Tyra get extra hp and damage reduction at the same time and drogoz doesn't get either

Drogoz can be easly killed by lian/vatu/andro/imani/kinessa/strix... and to be honest most of the time I can do nothing. The biggest issue i struggling is my team its riddiculous how many times i have 1 disconnected player and i have 1 bot which is healer or tank in casual matches. Paladins is good game, but players in matches depends its playable or not. Some days ru or uk nicknames attack paladins and trolling, spaming doing wierd stuff, but other days i see teams without tanks/healers winning game against team having 1 or 2 bots.

I have a disabled hand so using a keyboard is super hard for me so i use controller and i cannot get drogoz down on controller

You can configure your controller to play champions that have things like that. Personally, I go to settings and change my inputs for specifically drogoz to make it so that left trigger 2 is my jump/fly and left trigger 3 or L3 is the fire spit. Helps out a lot with being able to use him cause you can fly while looking and moving

10:49 Meditation (old Veteran) is really not appealing, and mostly useless. Maybe if they made it so it also reduces the out-of-combat time a little bit, then that's a good item to have!

Andrew if you have a contact please tell them to get rid of the cheaters and listen to player reports because they make the game unplayable. They already ruined 3 matches in a row for me and im not going to keep playing paladins if the same 3 people can just constantly come back with their accounts and continually cheat. So until it gets resolved im just not going to play. Also another thing for a very long time and im talking literal years since the ps5 came out, i cannot play with just ps4 and ps5 players. I try to turn my crossplay to that specific option and i just cant. It says that my platform is wrong or something idrk. I do not want to play against controller pc players or pc players in general because of the cheaters. I would be fine just switching my crossplay to my console edition only to solve the problem until the devs fixed the cheating but that literally doesn't work so im forced to play against cheaters straight up every game and i am not going to do that. Honestly im probably just gonna give up on the game and not look back anymore cause seemingly nothing changes no matter how much time goes along. So appreciate anyone for reading this comment and andrew if you read this comment if you wouldnt mind please type a reply so i know you at least noticed it

Imo Combustible needs to have some sort of drawback since: a.) The new item reworks buff him b.) You can use a card to reduce the cooldown of your second spit to 0 depending on how many enemies you hit with your first spit c.) You generate a lot of ult charge with Fire Spits main damage and the 300 damage over time , which is significant since his ult is an execute. Plus most other champions have drawbacks to talents that augment a certain ability. So something simple as "Increases base cooldown of Fire Spit by 2/3 Seconds" to 10/11 seconds would be reasonable.

Nah, don't nerf Drogoz, he's like the most balanced damage char. Look at all his counters, and how comb makes spitfire salvo oneshot burst essentially unusable. All his 3 talents are very strong and give unique playstyles (I personally prefer my flight reset combustible build over wyrm jets though, it's faster paced)

The only problem that Drogoz has is having way many counters.

No. use cover and good positioning. the sky is LITTERALLY the limit. and you wont have to worry about hitscan counters unless you 1v1 them Obviously Strix and Kinessa are different because they will one shot you the moment your head pops out and andro is insane against him. we dont talk about andro :c

@@lazyboy6500 bad positioning.. her range is terrible and you can easily get out of it with drog her ttk is 2.2 seconds while yours is 0.8 with salvo fusilade spit combo. or 1.2 aswell with basic ranged attacks

In the first season and beta I was one of the top five drogoz in the world. I haven't played this game for years, but I got emotional when I saw this video. The nickname BestDrogozEU still belongs to me.

This is like a viktor gameplay. Full of what i call "empty" or "useless" damage.
