I have to make a BIG recommendation on putting the laminating sheets on your paper. Put the laminating sheet down on your Cricut mat sticky side up and then lay your paper slowly and evenly on the laminating sheet. Comes out PERFECTLY and much quicker.

@Jeana Small it actually didn’t always with the holographic laminating but only once or twice. I would recommend cutting the laminate to within the black outer line. It worked better that way.

@@leolego2 Yes it does if you actually do cold laminating on stickers. The video shows the application of sticker to paper. The tip above is to add paper to sticker. In other words....she puts the laminate down face up of course. Then she lays her design paper face down so the laminate is sticking to the top of the stickers when flipped over to be cut in the machine. It's basically a slightly different approach to the same or think of it as both different personal preferences to the same out come. Top of stickers are laminated with water proof cold laminated material and then of course cut out via a digital cutter. Sorry you couldn't visiualize what DaniGem was attempting to explain. I myself actually have a slight different take on it. I almost always lay the laminate onto the sheet and slowly remove the backing while at the same time smoothing the laminate into place so again this is just a personal approach that works for me. Each to their own but all might be worth trying if you are new to the process.

@@danigemd9662 that’s what I do. It takes a bit longer but it works! I feel like my holographic clear sheets add a slight tint of yellow to my stickers. It’s extremely faint and almost not noticeable .

Great video! A tip for you that I just learned myself, when pulling off the extra, turn your mat upside down and it works easier. (Like how you did when you took the stickers off 😊)

Nesting images is a common practice among professional printers as well. You get the most space from the paper that you have. The proper term is gang printing. Home printers might call it 2-up, 4-up, and so forth. So a 2-up is producing 2 exact copies of the same file on the same side of the paper with scale adapted automatically to the size of paper you're using. 4-up is the same principle with 4 identical copies of the same file. Some printers may have a way to enter custom "x"-up where "x" is the quantity that you enter that is equally divisible. Wider format and large format printers have this as a common feature. But when you can buy a house or a large format printer chances are you already know this :)

You can always send your design to a sticker company to make the stickers for you! Also, I would recommend redbubble to any beginning artist/seller. You upload your art and they print on demand and will ship out the product for you but you get a percentage of the sale and you're out $0. Good luck girl!

Omg last night it took me like almost 2 hours to add photos to design space and edit here and there. Then when it came to adding the laminate, I was so dumb not to watch tutorials, my holographic paper just started sticking to my sticker paper and curling and next thing you know, it all went downhill except one sticker at the corner 😂

It really depends on the sizes of your stickers and what products you're using. In this case with this set of stickers and the products I used (including cost, tax, & shipping) - each sticker cost me about .08c - .10c to make. So you definitely save money by making them yourself BUT you're paying for the convenience of having them already made and ready to go if you order from a website. Since I have some stickers that do really well compared to others, I've ordered those off a website because it became daunting to have to print off a new set each day of the same stickers. So I ordered my best sellers just so I could have them ready to go as soon as I receive the order. But all my others, I basically make to order (so I'm not wasting supplies). Hope this helps!

Thanks for the detailed review of the process. So, if I understand correctly, the Cricut "knows" where to cut based on a white border you've already laid down around each one. You don't have to give it an offset or bleed width, right? If that's the case, that's pretty cool since it's really easy in Photoshop to lay down sticker borders.

Anytime! I design all my stickers in an app called Procreate on my iPad and draw the white edge around the design before exporting to my laptop where I print my stickers from (using Cricut).

Wonderful tutorial! I'm curious if these stick well to hydroflask water bottles and other bottles with similar texture. I've tried several different papers and cover with laminate but the edges come up on the hydroflask surface. Would love some feedback. Thank you again!

You're welcome, thanks for watching! So I started with a Cricut Explor Air 2 then upgraded to the Cricut Maker. The Explore Air 2 will do anything basic you need, and much cheaper than the Maker. I used it for writing in cards, cutting paper, cutting vinyl, stickers, etc. The Maker does everything the Explore does plus thicker materials. So I definitely recommend the Explore Air 2.

This video is fantastic! I am so excited to make stickers for my students. I got all the way to cut & now my machine will not read the cut lines. I think it is too glossy! Help! Any suggestions? I have dimmed the lights, cleaned the sensor, not sure what to do. Never had a problem with just the print & cut on matte vinyl.... seems like it is the laminate.

Hi, This was very useful and helpful to me. I have question, does the sticker made by this way can resist from the water going inside the coating from the edge? Because I followed your video with different laminating sheet (because it is out of stock). But fail to resist from the water. (I put it into water fully and wait about an hour)

Question, I have scotch laminating sheets, would those work as well??

Thanks! When I first started before I tested a bunch of different types of laminate, I did but I haven't since I found the few types I like.
