Hey there, when you paired with one or two Mic 2, can the body also record audio simultaneously?

Question: when recording in horizontal and flipping the screen to vertical, does it start recording vertically in the same video/file or does it create a new video/file? And can you change from horizontal to vertical using the app? Or you have to flip the screen? Or do you have the option to change from horizontal to vertical after like on free form from insta360? Low light footage looks really good. I bought OSMO action 4 last week. Its unfortunate that they are not yet providing a 1 inch sensor on Osmo action yet. I didnt wanted an action camera, but i want my camera to be waterresistant. So Pocket is not for me. 😥😥

Are we able to mount the two filters at the same time, I mean both the wide angle and nd filter in the creator combo?

I guess only thing missing is IP rating. Then again moving components is difficult to waterlogged. Also 4K60 and 120 seems to experience some kind of artifacting cause images isn't clean. Probably need more tuning.

I dislike the ultra-high-saturation and loss of colour gradation in action camera video, but is the camera's D-Log M mode any good? Can we get closer to the colour tones of the A7 family of videos?

Have you used this on a shoot? Would be interested to see some portrait videos with it. I think 20mm is too wide for portrait work but you seem to like the wider focal lengths.

It would be more fair to compare the Pocket 3 with the iPhone 15 Pro's Apple Log for the latter's reduced oversharpeness and forced HDR.

I make homebody vlogs and also traveling around my city in korea but mostly at home videos and im using the Sony zv-1f but im considering to switch to the pocket 3 cc is it worth the switch?? as I mainly make homebody content like cooking and talking to the camera but I feel like if I had the p3 I would go out way more to vlog since its tiny and even hard to notice that im vlogging, is it worth the switch or should I stick to the zv-1f??

The A7CII is too bulky and awkward to carry around, the pocket 3 is so compact that you can rotate the screen and shoot right away!

I want to like the Pocket more. For myself, I don't understand the primary use case. For an infrequent videographer like me, I'm more prone to use my phone (with or without a gimbal). For a pro, I assume they'd use something larger.

With the size of the grip which is necessary for comfort you might as well put a smartphone in a gimbal. With a smartphone youll have HDR mult video more lenses and easier sharing and viewing.

Yeah I don't see why you'd prefer the Osmo to the new iPhone. If you're aiming for extreme convenience over a professional cinema camera, a phone is equivalent quality to an Osmo but has infinitely more features.

One this is wider, than the best smartphones standard wide angle shot. Sure these days there's ultrawide, but inferior sensor especially low light. Two it's a one tap. Or in this case one flip the screen to turn it on. Don't need to tap your screen unless you remember to swipe or tap the camera button your screen. Three it's smaller and lighter. Smartphones are starting to get chonky. Four you can attach a battery pack for extra grip on this too. If you can attach a grip to your phone, you can do to this too. Only reason smartphones are better because of its computational photography. Usually every non smartphone recording devices just use basic light capturing and few HDR boost in order to capture these images. But usually these companies also introduced formats like HLOG for editing later which is similar to HDR stacking but the creators will use this to tune to their specific needs. Otherwise, for just pure video recording, this is fine.

Great video as usual! What do you think comparing this with Sony ZV-1 mark 2 in terms of image quality and video quality? They are both using 1” sensors and one with mechanical stabilisation and one with digital. Thanks. :)

Mechanical-based stabilization will always be better than digital stabilization as the latter cannot adequately recreate natural motion blur and needs to distort the image to simulate ''stability'' - the ZV1 II's stabilization is, to be completely honest, very bad - lots of distortion, warping, blurry edges or blurry silhouettes due to natural motion blur... You can find footage on KZread and you'll quickly notice how poor the stabilization is on the ZV1 Mk II Outside stabilization, I'd say the ZV1 II's general image quality is superior thanks to slightly better sharpness and colour science - but if you're on the move, you'll want a gimbal. Furthermore, the ZV1 Mk II still suffers from bad rolling shutter distortion, which is absolutely ridiculous, as it is marketed as a vlogging camera! So if you plan on filming stuff statically, go for the ZV1 II If you plan on filming on the move, go for the Pocket 3 - don't forget the super neat auto-tracking feature! This can really elevate your videos!

This is not the same as the DJI mic that comes with the transmitter and the receiver, this is the 2nd inception of the wireless mic used and sold for just the pocket 3.

Using Panasonic LX100 with a gimbal camera, You have DJI pocket 10.

Looks good, and much better than the Pocket 2; but is it a 1-inch sensor or a ‘1-inch type’ sensor (look it up) which is far smaller? We need to be careful when it comes to misleading PR claims

It is 1 inch type sensor as there's no such thing as an actual 1 inch large sensor but it is a 1 inch sensor by which new photography has always been judged since the old tube days. History lesson, term 1 inch sensor came from when video used tubes and most common was a 1 inch tube which measured .63" around which is what the diameter is of the modern 1" sensor.

I found a review on "techradar" and the quality of the photos taken by this device is not great (especially at 100% preview), but that's my opinion. The maximum photo resolution is 3840x2160 (in Osmo Pocket 2 it is 9216 x 6912). They are not suitable for larger prints, because many details are missing and when enlarged they will appear blurry. However, they are completely sufficient for running a blog. As a person with a disability, I have to look for lightweight devices for taking photos and recording short videos - I'm considering Pocket 3 (Combo), Osmo Action 4, Insta360 One RS or some compact mirrorless camera (which is best for shots of distant objects). A few friends already have iPhones that produce fantastic photages, but Apple's product line isn't within my budget.

ISO 3200 is CLEEEEAAAAAAAAANNNNN. I wonder if DJI took some learnings from their Ronin 4D, because it's right around this same ISO (3200-4000) where the image is the cleanest and has the most dynamic range with minimal noise.

The ISO test is misleading as the shutter speed is compensating. The Pocket 3 should be a lot brighter and clearer in low light conditions.

Why do all the reviews of this camera assume everyone is a vlogger? I never want to film my ugly face, I want to use it as a travel camera, and to film all sorts of events. I also do walking videos, so the low light qualities really excite me. That is the kind of footage I want to review. I could care less about face tracking.

It's not an 1 inch sensor as it's only about 13,2 mm x 8,8 mm in size which was about the area a 1 inch tube used decades ago. Hence the name. A full frame sensor of a DSLM measures 36 mm x 24 mm which surface is more than seven times larger.

@kiiito If there's enough light the picture looks nice. I miss a log profile and for me it seems as if the picture has been sharpened too much. The low light footage near the end of the video is very noisy and blocky. For many vloggers and as a B or C camera when you can't show up with big equipment this camera should be fine. Edit: In another review I learned the Osmo Pocket 3 has DLog M which is a big plus.

But every company that does digital cameras and uses these Sony closely type sensors use this form of measurement. 1/1.3 and 1/2.3 and even 4/3rds it's just a designation to compare modern products and as long as everyone's using the same form of measurement when comparing apples to apples whats the difference how they got there. There is a connection at least, the outer measurement of said tube measured .63" which is the diameter of the 1 inch type sensor.

​@@richiefrank15productions You're absolutely right. I wanted to point out that in this video it sounds as if the new Osmo had a very large sensor. It's bigger than in the predecessor but still quite small. I must say I like this camera. Though I won't buy one I might recommend it to others.

It's a bit uncomfortable due to the large size.

Does anyone do these walk and talk videos anymore, they went out of fashion years ago. You only see them on product reviews. Surely people are using this product to film 'forwards' at locations products and people now.
