    I got the GHAD-39 a few months back for like $28 USD. And it’s the best airbrush for its money I’ve used. I literally just bought the Morbius 2mm & 3mm yesterday and can’t wait to use them both.

    Looks like an interesting AB, lots of features, looks to be inspired by H&S and, to an extent, Paasche too🤔🤔 The new H&S Ultra comes in at about £95 iirc. It would be interesting to compare the two🤔🤔 The "Beemer" is coming on well👍👍 The season's greetings to you and yours🎉👍✌️💜😊

    I have worked with both the Gaahleri Mobius .2 and .3 as well as with the Harder & Steenbeck Evolution .4 and Infinity .2 airbrushes (not the 2024 models) and the Badger Omni 4000 and 150. First the Mobius, I was able to work with them without issue, the .2 needs very thinned down paint indeed. Personally I prefer the .3 as it is much easier to work with and the MAC valve is not something I ever use so I prefer to not have it in my way. The .2 sprays finer but not even that much. Cleaning is them is OK, my biggest problem with them is the tolerance around the seals. This is not as good as with H&S and Badger. You can easily get paint into the whole brush if your not careful. I have them just a few months so I cant say anything about life expectancy but I think the H&S will outlive them for sure and the Badgers probably too. Second the H&S, both brushes are great, the quality of both is a step above the Gaahleri and the Badgers. The .4 nozzle is great and can spray about as fine as the Mobius .3. The .2 is just as with the Mobius only suitable for very thin paints. The Infinity .2 can spray a little finer than the Mobius .2. The evolution .4 is able to do almost all, from base coating to fine details to Varnish. Third Badger, I like the Omni 4000 much better then the 150. Again its very all round. My biggest problem with both badgers is cleaning them, I don't like it. The Omni 4000 is doable but needs a tool, the 150 is just so bad, I don't use it just so i don't need to clean it. Cleaning is why I got a H&S instead of the Iwata High End line, I don't want to fiddle with a micro nozzle and special tool. (The Eclipse is better it seems but its nozzle looks so much like the Omni I went with H&S) What would I recommend? Get the H&S Evo .4 for almost all your airbrush work. The quality of the brush is insane, cleaning it is so much better then the Omni 4000 the .4 can do almost everything well. Some people don't like the trigger though but that seems to be fixed with the Evo 2024. Yes its more expensive then the Gaahleri offering but as you can use it for 90% of the jobs its gonna be used a lot, and its money well spend. Now for extreme fine details when you have enough airbrush experience you can get the Mobius as a second brush. Its cheap and as you'll need it much less often paying a little less seems fine. If you don't care and want the finest sprays patterns and the best quality, and money is less important get the H&S Infinity .2 or .15 Another great option with great price/performance is GSI Creos / Mr Hobby PS-267/270/274/289. I have never used them so I cannot compare them to the above models but many people who have used them love them.

    I might have missed it, so what is your verdict when compared to the Sotar 20/20? Ive been using the Sotar & Iwata hP-C for years now and this brush seems interesting. Thanks for the review!

    Pretty similar in terms of actual performance, Mobius is better in terms of finish and price point, but I do like both and have a fondness for the Sotar as it feels so good in the hand for intricate detail work. The Mobius is a fine brush though, can't really go wrong at that price point and both brands have the necessary back-up for parts and longevity - looks like Gaahleri intends to stay the course and shake up the market a bit.

    Depends on budget really and what you are looking for. You need to decide if you want a quiet one and/or a tank or not, those are the two major decisions. A tank and quietness are useful, I recommend looking on Facebook Marketplace or Ebay for some reputable brand compressors second hand and try your luck. I've covered a bunch of compressors on the channel, all are viable options. Harder and Steenbeck now make the Hansa brand, like I bought, they are solid units and made by Werther in Italy who make many compressors for different brands anyway. Pricey but long life, as stated, mine was bought over 23 years ago and spare parts are abundant.

    It seems like the Mobius is even better than the 98D, although the 98D's Ace line should theoretically better than Mobius's premium line?

  • @scalewarmachines

    @scalewarmachines

    I think premium trumps ace? Maybe? Either way, this is a much higher end offering. The 98D is like an Iwata Eclipse or maybe an HP, the Mobius more like a HiLine or HP-CH, in terms of features at any rate.

    I for the life of me cannot fathom how the new Supreme model is going to better than the Mobius. If the quality control of the Mobius was up to snuff, it would easily be the best airbrush ever made. But in its present state of "hit and miss" quality control and shocking amounts of damaged units being received, It's just merely the prettiest airbrush ever made. . . The big name makers got lucky that the Mobius doesn't perform near as well as it looks. If it did, it would be game over for everyone but Gaahleri 😮. . .

  • @scalewarmachines

    @scalewarmachines

    5 ай бұрын

    Yes there's a quick start guide in the box, whether that is enough to fine tune it is another question, this is not really a plug and play airbrush, you will need to be a bit more experience than a beginner, for example, as it is a bit fiddly to get set-up. As you can see though, once that is done, it sprays fine.

    Do you realize your needle packing failed? That's why you have paint leaking backwards.

  • @scalewarmachines

    @scalewarmachines

    5 ай бұрын

    Do you mean paint in the rear section of the airbrush? That’s because I retracted then removed the needle when I was trouble shooting the paint splatter initially. There was still paint in the cup when I did so, so paint entered the rear section but the packing seal on this brush is fine. The film is edited with video editing software, so you won’t have seen that happen but it doesn’t leak.

    The new Badgers are not what they once were. I have had several in the past and they were good. I recently purchased another one and was not impressed. The plating was horrible as was the machining. It looked like it was done in someone's garage. I am all for buying American, but I want the best value for my money. Badger is going to have to pick up their game. There is absolutely no way they can compete with the Gaahleri or Pro Con Boy series of airbrushes. I also have H & S and Iwata's and the same holds true for them too.

The gold is just “bling”, it’s less blingy than some I’ve seen though, without naming names…
