There are a lot of factors that go into choosing the right UFO LED high bay lights. What sort of space are you working with? What sort of durability is needed? How high will they be mounted? In this video, Neil Peterson of LED Lighting Supply takes you through multiple lines of UFO high bays to help you determine which fixture is best in your use case.

Today we're going to talk about our UFO solutions, and how they may be used.
As you can see, we have a range of different types of units and my goal is to go through each one of them and talk in some detail about the features and capabilities of them.
Our products are designed for commercial industrial lighting. You'll notice some of the fixtures are more designed towards commercial where some others are also designed towards industrial. We'll go through each one, one at a time and give you a highlight on the options that are available.
So first of all, the product I'd like to talk about is our HBC UFO High Bay.
It comes in a 100 watt, 120 watt, 150 watt, and 200 watt options. Puts out about 150 lumens per watt. Comes standard with a frosted lens. Comes standard with a hook mount. All these fixtures do come dimmable, so they are dimmable if you need that for a dimming switch and/or a motion sensor.
It also can come with a motion sensor kit that is easily field installable. It also comes with a dome option. The dome is actually an acrylic dome reflector. That will really cut down any additional glare that may happen. And the last feature that is available is again it does come with a standard frosted lens, but it's also available in a 60 and 90 degree optic. Those would be used if the fixtures are mounted at a much higher height.
Next product that I'm gonna quickly talk about is our HB2 line. Which again is another commercial type fixture. It has either an I hook option that it comes standard with or you can get a pendant or surface mount bracket for it. It comes with one lens, it's a clear lens. The only other options that are available for this fixture is you can get an acrylic dome or an aluminum dome for it. Again, those are used for glare reduction, in most cases. But also, another nice product key is it comes in a 100 watt, 150 watt and 200 watt option.
Again, both these products that I just talked about are very commercial oriented where your heat is pretty much constant, your heights aren't over 30 feet, 35 feet. Where you just need basic lighting.
The next products I'm going to quickly talk about are first our HBHO line UFO high bay. This is high performance, you do get about 180 lumens per watt out of the product. It comes in a 100 watt, 150 watt, and 240 watt unit. The 240 watt unit is ideal for replacing a 1000 watt metal high light fixture, it puts out almost 41,000 lumens. It's just a really nice fixture for commercial environments. The optic is actually ribbed so it provides great glare reduction.
Our next two fixtures are more our true industrial grade products. Very heavy duty, impact resistant, really can handle harsh environments.
The first instance is our standard HB line, and it comes in a 150 watt, 200 watt, and 300 watt line. We stock all three of those in both high voltage and standard voltage so if you're 347 or 480. This is a rugged monster. Takes impact, is twice the size and weight of the other fixtures. It does come standard with a tempered glass lens, but you can also get a 60 or 90 degree optic for it. It also comes with an acrylic dome option with it. That a lot of people use when they want uplight.
The highest wattage option is our 450 watt, 600 watt industrial grade fixtures. They're also HB line, very rugged. Also, it only comes in the I hook but they do not come with a pendant mount. They do come dimmable but these things are putting out over 150 lumens per watt so if you need close to 100,000 lumens this is that fixture.
Additionally, the last product that I'd like to mention all of these products, the HB2, the two industrial, and the HBC products all have the ability to have an EMB added to it. We have an UFO EMB that mounts next to the fixtures and it will provide your full EMB support if that is required in some of your applications.

Thank you for the presentation. I have always wondered how it is possible to cool these types of lights passively, or are you also using active cooling? Would be very interesting to know the running temps of the chips and if it effects the overall lifetime of the LEDs.

Any recommendations for which light fixture to use for warehouse/indoor basketball court lighting? I was looking at the last light shown in the video, as well as the light before it. The indoor area was previously a warehouse where they stored car parts & boxes. The lighting is horrible! There's only 10 light fixtures throughout the warehouse. Pretty high up, but not bright enough. We recently changed the bulbs to a higher wattage, but that didn't help. Our warehouse/indoor basketball court is big enough to house 2 side-by-side courts.

Thanks for your interest! Our Lighting Specialist Mike reviewed your comment: "Adding a higher wattage doesn't always result in better lighting. We would recommend reaching out to us with the length x width x mounting height of the space and we would love to help get the lighting where it needs to be!" Thanks for your question! I spoke with one of our lighting specialists, Joe Hawkins. He said: "120 Watt HBC depending on the environment, maybe even 100 Watt HBC." I am looking at these for my warehouse. I currently have 400w metal halide that have a 47000 lumen output. LEDS aren't any more efficient but the old fittings are dying so I will have to change.

I spoke with one of our lighting specialists, Mike, who personally reviewed your requirement! LEDs are more efficient than the traditional MH or sodium vapor fixtures it part because they provide directional light just on the space you are lighting up. Also, the light output will hold steady far into the life of the fixture compared to their metal halide counterparts. Here is an example of a fixture and wattage (150 watt LED) that we commonly use to replace 400 watt metal halide lights in a warehouse: www.ledlightingsupply.com/commercial-lighting/led-high-bay-lights/150-watt-ufo-led-high-bay-light-22500-lumens-5000k Feel free to reach out to him directly: mciaffone@ledlightingsupply.com direct: 617-533-0385

@@ledlightingsupply My 400W bulbs are 47000 lumens though and have reflectors to direct the light downwards. Some of my bulbs are over 20 years old and run 8 hours a day- I doubt LEDs will come close. There is one big advantage to LEDs of course - instant on. And can be fitted with sensors so I suppose they will save money that way. Roof is pretty high - the lights are about 22' off the ground.

below reviews from him fyi: Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2021Size: 200w-With DimmableVerified Purchase 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect replacement in gym for the metal halide I used 8 of these to replace six metal halide lights in a gymnasium. I think six would have worked just fine, but I wanted to make sure I had good coverage. They are really bright!!! I used the 10v dimmer wire and hooked two lights per dimmer. Dimming was smooth and consistent. If I need to do a project like this again I will definitely buy these lights!

Thanks for your message! Most of our fixtures are going to come with 80+ CRI rating. This is a combination of R1-R8. Our rating does not include CRI R9, so it really depends on the application. The higher wattages pack a punch! They are a great solution for high ceiling factories and warehouses.
