Recently discovered your channel. Not only am I learning a ton about my Canon M50 but I've got quite a list for things I'll be purchasing. Sold me on this tripod that arrived today. Can't wait to use it!
Hello Mark. I did buy this tripod because of your video and recommendation almost a year ago. I have been very pleased with its functionality and quality! I was a little confused why it needed two knobs for the ball head, but since it is there I use it. Thanks again for the video and I look forward to using this tripod for a very long time.
Thank you very much!!! I need this. Have been looking for a light weight portable tripod. This checks all the boxes.

Great to hear, yes it's so hard to know without someone having hands on experience with them.
Thank you Mark for your recommendations not only for the tripod but also the screen protector and camera bag. I have purchased all three items. I was in the market for a new tripod and I couldn't find a good one, then I remembered your previous video about accessories to buy with a Canon M50 Mark II and wham! lol here I am! Thank you and blessings to you always for your help.

Thanks for the great video! Do you carry the backpack and tripod separately, attached to each other, or does the tripod fit into the bag?
Glad I watched your video again. I was getting frustrated with the tripod legs flopping around and not really being stable while working with legs in the shorter (non extended position). I took the two hex wrench's and was able to tighten them down.(no spinning) No more problem...secured.

Hey, great vid. Can you put a german buy link in the description?
Thanks Mark! Bought the t200 and it just arrived! Beyond my expectations. Solid and built like a tank. When I picked up the box when it was delivered I was surprised by the weight but that went away after having playing with all the possibilities that are available. Solid build and can safely handle my cages and telephoto lens's. Next purchase is a lens support rig for the small rig cage and M50 mk ll . Any recommendations? I'm not sure which base plate to get.
@markwiemels

I have not really setup a lens support for the M50, I would look at what Smallrig has for sure, they are my go to for that type of stuff.
@KayJay01
Жыл бұрын
Might be too late, but I can definitely recommend Smallrig's stuff for this. I use the universal base plate by them (1674), a couple 15mm rods (1872), and their lens support (BSL2680) for the lens support. This makes it quite front heavy though, so I recommend some rear counter-balancing with a V-mount for a battery on the back, I use the 3016 and a powerbank holder (BUB2336) and a powerbank. With a couple USB to DC cables this powers both the camera and monitor for hours and hours, and puts the center of gravity back on the camera body which is excellent for stability.
Thanks for the great review.

Hey Mark, do you know if the Smallrig fluid heads are any good? I'm a freelance journalist and have been doing a lot of run and gun video. I'm looking for an upgrade from a dirt-cheap tripod that is pretty lightweight with some video capability. Thought about a manfrotto setup, but I'm worried it might be a bit heavy/pricy.
@markwiemels

I have a number of them, but have always used them locked off, so not using the head for movement. The reports I have seen from others, that do use them for moment, have been mixed.
Hi, I like you reviews, I have seen now a few of them. This tripod seems to be same tripod as Rollei and K&F Concept are selling under their names and colors. Those manufacturer is chinese Fotopro. Any chance that you were able to compare them if they are the same? Prices differs in different parts of our planet, Rollei is cheaper in Europe for example, that might be a good information for possible buyers.
Great vid as they all are Mark

Couldn’t understand why they put threaded holes opposite the allen screw tensioners but you can screw the spikes into the holes to avoid losing them…I’d probably lose at least one in time.

Mark, I'm hoping you actually SEE this question. I bought the Tripod but I must be doing something wrong. The legs are dangling all over the place making it hard to set up. I notice whenever you grab or move it the legs stay stationary where mine just dangle everywhere. Its been that way from the start so I don't think it has to do with those tensioners you mention near the end. Obviously, I'm doing SOMETHING wrong? Bo
@markwiemels
Жыл бұрын
Yes, I suspect they just need to be tensioned. They may not have been tensioned properly at the factory, or became loose in shipping. Not all of my legs we the same tension out of the box, one was a bit looser than the other two, so It wouldn’t surprise me if there were variations like this, for whatever reason, but easy to fix.
I bought this exact tripod a couple months ago, I'm really happy with it. BTW Mark, as someone who wears glasses and uses the viewfinder on the Canon M50, do you have any tricks or tips? I usually end up pushing my glasses up on top of my head, but it gets annoying after a while. Any advice for using it with glasses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@markwiemels
2 жыл бұрын
Good to hear. No good tips on the glasses, I find it annoying too. I look through my glasses at the view finder, I use multifocal so i just have to make sure I use the same part of the glasses each time, and set the diopter for that part of the glasses.
@bodinian
2 жыл бұрын
Take your glasses off then adjust the diopter until you can see your image through the viewfinder. The diopter was made for that exact purpose. It's on the bottom of the viewfinder on the M50
@avi8485
2 жыл бұрын
@@bodinian Thanks Joseph. I'm aware of that. The annoying part is pushing up my glasses every time I want to look through the viewfinder, they just get in the way.
Does this work well for cameras without a cage also?
@markwiemels
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it comes with the tripod plate to connect to the camera.
I don't know why they don't make the centre column a little longer so the legs fold closer together. That's the best thing about the peak design tripod. The base of these are still too wide
@markwiemels
2 жыл бұрын
Yea, those Peak Design Tripods are pretty pricey and highly engineered, but really nice. Won't be getting one for under $100, that's for sure.

@@markwiemels I get that but the head is what's preventing it from folding tighter. They could even make the head detachable for smaller folds or something
