🤔Now that Mio said "fasten your seatbelt"... I recall an incident back in 2002 where I used to watch F1 races. David Coulthard accused Montoya of having a small brain and Eddy Ervine said if you fused Montoya with Coulthard you will get a perfect driver hence 1 has big balls and no brains, and the other 1 has brains yet no balls. To play the way of the Dragon Butcher-style you must have both in abundance. 🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎

That is so true.
Thank you for this! It's awesome because there's this local retired 2300 fide player in my town, Mauricio, im only around 1900 USCF, and this guy crushes me with the dragon, the same idea with nxd4 and be6! I looked at master games in these lines, but the problem is, what I learned was being processed through my 1900 brain, whereas it's so helpful to hear the position explained by an IM who really understands what's going on, now it makes much more sense to me!

Hey, Mio 😎👋...As I watched this video, I'm thinking🤔I remember Bobby Fischer's famous saying, when playing againsT the Dragon, "play h4, h5, sac, sac, MATE". Well, decades later, thanks to your great analysis and videos on how to play the Dragon, white never gets the chance to play h4-h5-sac-sac MATE and iT is black who crushes whiTe insTead 😁.

Really enjoyed this video, and lovely to see this attacking line you showed us before again. Question: You seem to prefer playing the Dragon through modern move order with 2...d6 instead of Nc6. Which one would you recommend if one doesn't know all the annoying side lines like Rossilimo or Levenfish? My preference is to play hyper accelerated dragon, but is that optimal for tournaments (under 2100) Thanks!

10 years ago I was also playing this line. But the problem is instead of 14.hxg6 white can push the pawn with h6 instead (the player who played this move against me is my friend who is a FM but most of the time white will play 14.hxg6) then 14...Bh8 15.a3 Rab8 16.g4 b5 17. g5 b4 18.Nb5 and now black has a choices between losing an exchange with 18...Rxb5 19.Nxb5 Qxb5 20.gxf6 or get awkward position with 18...Nd7 19.Bxh8 Kxh8 20.Qd4+ f6 21.Qxb4 Qb6 22.gxf6 Nxf6. That is why I stopped playing the dragon because of the 9.O-O-O line combined with 11.Kb1 and 14.h6 give white too good position. (I don't want to go for another theoretical line 9...d5).
