The Best Tips For Acrylic Pour Painting! / Fluid Art!

B.R.Turner.ART
This isn’t a full tutorial video but I thought I’d add some really helpful little tips that I use! I hope you find these helpful!
The first tip is to filter your floetrol!! The easiest way I’ve found is just a cut up pair of pantyhose and a rubber band!!! This ensures that you’re getting pure floetrol and no buggers that form from air mixing with the floetrol in the container and it starts to coagulate.
This filter method prevents it entirely 👍
The next tips is on your larger pours or cups use a drill for mixing! This saves so much time!!! Mine is an old Milwaukee from work that I’ve repurposed as my mixing drill! It works wonders! (Milwaukee is the best)
Mix until your paint is the consistency of warm honey, and make sure all your colors are mixed exactly the same to assist with proper flow during the tilt! This can make or break your painting and is a huge step! Don’t want to skip that one!
I hope you find these tips helpful and I will have much more to come!
If you have any questions please feel free to leave them down in the comments 👍
And for my pour this is another FREESTYLE pour using a bit different colors this time, all custom mixed my be and all liquitex with a few artist loft mixed in

    That's a great idea to have that mixer! What I love about the paintings I have seen so far of yours's is that you use the simple, original formula (not a bunch of expensive and fancy stuff) and your techniques could be called "simple" too, but everything comes out so beautifully. They are so vibrant and colorful and super appealing. The colors just explode HAPPINESS! True that! hahahaha

    Your a hard man to follow! I practice your hand movements when I wake up in the middle of the night and it's harder than it looks 😀 When I mix paint, I'm there trying to get the right consistently with water and my paints always seem too thick, so I check your video of "Tips" and I notice you don't add water. So I might have another go and find a Pro Mixer. Oh and I so enjoy your video's. Thank you B T

    Very beautiful & vibrant! Love it! I don't need to filter my floetrol. Mixing before opening, forces most clumps to the bottom of jug. When emptied, I pour water into it & it becomes my water container. I rarely need to strain it. That way, floetrol residue gets used up! 😁

    Hey B.R. Your unique freestyle pours have VERY much inspired me to start doing a couple of my own!! I am about 6 months into the hobby. Last night I did a freestyle pour based on one of your videos! The problem was that this morning many of the beautiful ribbons of paint had lost their shape and form. I did my best to replicate everything you did in this awesome tutorial. But, I think the problem was my consistency of the colors were off. Do you think you might be able to demonstrate to us (your big fans!) how you mix your color paints in particular? Mound upon mound, etc. I think that would really be super helpful. Just a thought 😀

    I love all your bright colours and your technique. 🇨🇦 The next time my cup slips and splashes rather than being that ring that drives me nuts because it doesn’t stay a circle, I will tell my husband I’m free styling! My accidental splashes don’t look half as nice as your planned ones. I’m going to take another look at my paint thickness and layering. Also do you measure your paint to the size of your canvas? I always end up with too much or too little and the nice stuff slides right off or won’t move at all. 🙄 I’m going to start making notes and putting them on the back of the paintings successful or not because I have too many ways from too many KZread videos and I have to begin again with just one thing because so far, after a year, the only thing I can accomplish is balloon smooshes,,,,sometimes.

    The mixer is great because if you move it up & down and don’t come to the surface ...it doesn’t cause bubbles. I wrote Mina V. About this and lo & behold there you are using a mixer. It’s tiring to mix paints for large canvases that is why I told her about the mixers on amazon.

    Use Elmer's glue all....

  • @jbird4910

    @jbird4910

    Some artists use only paint thinned with water. Others just add a PVA glue or Elmer’s school glue. Balancing the cost between paint and additives is tricky because not all materials are good or equal quality, and mixing cheap products with better quality ingredients, or vice versa, is a false economy. Paints sometime crack from a too-thick paint-to-additive mixture, especially if not mixed with some PVA glue. Recipes abound online. Read lots of them before choosing one. Take notes.
