My personal tip is to name your island something that doesn't confine you to a single vibe. Your island will evolve and maybe you'll want to turn "Fairyland" into a city-core paradise! Now the old name doesn't fit. Make up an entirely new name (or try a generator online) so YOU can define what it means. :)

yeah definitely! I named my island sea sick when I first restarted but then realized I didn't really want it to be the theme I chose when I named my island, I've now just restarted and I've named my island eventide, after a botw mysterious island, now it can truly be whatever I desire at any time!

@@love-he4fv Eventide is such a beautiful name for your island. Eventide is one of my go-to last names for OCs. I got mine from Skye Eventide, a huntress from a book series named ‘Coven.’. ^^

I named my island Hilton in honor of my favorite vacation place, and it's a modern paradise. Fairy tale inspired islands are cool, but I opted for a theme that's very hip and trendy.

Before i saw this comment i had actually already done this but didn’t even realize it! My island name is yume which is japenese for “dream”. Now I’m rlly happy that I did since instead of fairycore, I want to do cottagecore now

I named mine Paradisio cause I’m unoriginal, which is fine cause this is my first island so I’m just going for a simple town/village island and the name doesn’t really conflict with it too much 😁

Getting DIY's: don't forget to check the beach each day for the DIY bottle. Also, one of your villagers will be crafting from 8am - Noon, Noon - 4pm, and 4pm - 8pm ( if I recall the time blocks correctly). It's a different village for each of the time blocks, so it's a good way to get DIYs. If you've unlocked Cooking recipes, one of your villagers will be cooking something and will give you the recipe. Nook Miles islands will usually have a DIY bottle on the beach as well. Get the slingshot as soon as possible to shoot down balloons. They will hold a variety of things; crafting materials, clothing, furniture, DIYs, or Bells. Another thing I've re-learned recently since starting my newest island is to clean up the beach of shells and coral several times a day and sell them! You get both Bells and Nook Miles for doing this. I also discovered that while I can sell a coconut for 250 bells, I can sell coconut juice (made from a single coconut) for 500 bells!

oh i thought it rotated every 3 hours from when u first log on. so when u first log on, a villager is crafting, and then after 3 hours from ur first log the next villager crafts, and then 3 hours after that villager the last one is crafting.

I made the mistake of learning food recipes too early in my first run. Once recipes are unlocked, the game tends to favor those over crafting recipes. I never got the diy recipes I needed, only food recipes. This play through, I am waiting on the food because we can buy pre cooked meals anyway, and I already have way more diy recipes in two weeks of playing then months of playing on my first run.

-Sell your tree fruit, use your coconuts for moving trees. Coconut don't sell for as much as fruit does. -Plant pumpkins to make the big bells. Water them every day from harvest till they're full again. If you water them every day, you'll get 3 pumpkins per plot. Water them once, you'll get 2. Don't water at all, you'll get 1. I have about 17 million in the bank because I'm a pumpkin farmer. My rule is that if it rains or snows, I must harvest my pumpkins because I will only have to water them once (the next day) in order to get 3 pumpkins, as the rain/snow counts as watering. Quite the time and tool saver! - if you pick the heads off your flowers, "place" them somewhere and it puts it in a vase. They're so pretty 😍 -Learn how to hybridize/breed the flowers but be careful who you learn from. People with the best intentions are spreading false information online unknowingly and that can mess up your whole breeding program if you're not careful. -your villagers have a limited inventory. Gifting them clothes and items is fun, but don't give them garbage items you don't want anymore. They can only keep so much, so as their inventory gets full (i think it's 36 items, but don't quote me on that #), they will start to replace their own items with the stuff you gift them. *Choose wisely*. Learn their favourite colours, styles and their personality online. Google "Flurry's favourite colours animal crossing" and read everything you can about your villager, then gift accordingly. Hot tip: fossils don't take up space in their inventory and are worth enough to give you all the friendship points. More expensive gifts bring your friendship level up, wrapping it is an automatic +1 point. You'll get their photo in no time. I have about 10 of Chester's photos. He gave me another one today when I gave him the glowing star clock in green (his colour). Anyone know what to do with all their photos?! Shrine of all the villagers, a photo outside their door, one in your house on the wall, one in front of the tombstone in a fake cemetery.. anyhoozie, I need more ideas because I don't have the heart to throw it out! These are my children, for Creator's sake!!! -Watch a video on how to catch the tarantula and scorpion. -watch a video on how to hit your rocks to get the most out of them, the way it's shown here, you slide all over the place. There's a much easier way. And don't waste a fruit to break your rock, unless you really want to move it, but if you do, be sure to eat a coconut, not a fruit, because again, coconut aren't worth ad much. You can get more rock from an island or hitting your other rocks. They're not worthless, but they're going to accumulate. Oh, and all the non-native fruit are worth more on your island than your native fruit, so if you are visiting a friend, bring your native fruit (as long as it's different from theirs) and sell it on their island. -go diving every single day and don't leave the water till you get that scallop. Pascal will show up and ask for it, always give it to him. He'll give you pearls (which sell for 10k but are worth more for material to build your MERMAID collection! 😍 Which he will give you the DIYs for in lieu of a pearl. If you don't have room in your storage (which, be honest, you don't), place your items outside. I had a whole shark park before CJ finally showed up. He's fun. Save 3 of every creature you want his live-in boyfriend Flick to make into a model. The bugs are much cooler looking than the fish, but Flick is completely biased, so ya can't blame him. -Nothing is permanent on this game, until you accidentally throw a pocketful of pumpkins in the garbage cause you're falling asleep and not paying attention and think you're storing them in your storage shed. FML. Anyhoozie, that is my reminder that I was tired earlier and it's time for bed. Step away from the game kids, remember that there's a whole world of outside stuff to explore in real life. Don't lose yourself to the game. Even though Nook now owns your soul, he won't be mad if you put the game down to go out and get some fresh air. -

Thank you for the helpful tips! I'd like to bounce off of one of the ideas: It was around 10:00 and the person said to prioritize getting more durable tools. This is helpful, however, you should stock up on flimsy axes so that you can break them easier! I know it sounds counterintuitive, but after you break a certain number of axes, you get the recipe for the golden axe! Also, if you want to get wood, but don't want to cut down your trees, that flimsy axe is your best bet! So get those durable tools, and those flimsy axes!! ✨💛💛✨

Consolecaito's tip is 100%. So frustrating when you really do not want to start from scratch but have to incorporate a residence services plaza up next to the airport.

Trees : 22 in total give stuff (5 wasps, 2 furnitures, bells) the rest can be fruit trees so you're always sure you get everything

A tip for existing and new island: be VERY SURE to check and make sure your flowers have not overspread to areas you don’t want them, ESPECIALLY if you plan to use time travel. I learned the hard way and ended up with the island overfilled with flowers.

Before I even got the ladder and volting pole the whole island was covered in flowers 😭 not a single place to drop anything

One of the tips I would like to share, when trying to get a "3 Star Island" you only have to worry about the part of the island you started off in at the beginning of the game! not the entire island completely, like crossing the bridge ect. So just add the flowers from the hills around the plaza or by villagers houses, decorate that chunk of the island only. :) I hope that's still a thing! that's what I did when I restarted my Island!

Loved these tips! I restarted shortly before 2.0, alot of these are still very helpful. Along side the durable tools tip; you can customize them to reset their durability! A lot cheaper than crafting or purchasing new ones every time they break 👏

E Js rap was everything! Also during the most heavy metal part of the song, I got a peaceful hobby lobby commercial, lol

You can build up bells in the very beginning by selling DIYs! I made the Leaf Umbrella over and over til I had a decent cushion.

Really good! I love starting over. And over. The swimsuit tip is really important. On my last island I used that and it really made things much better. I bought a new switch just so I could have an island to restart when I get the urge!

First of all, loving the new intro, it's very you! Second, omfg EJ that's my new fav AC song!! 😂😂😂 And the best advice I have for new players is do your dailys around your Nook Miles Plus! For example: need to water your produce but don't see it in the plus section of your Nook Miles? Wait!! Don't water those crops yet!! Knock out the first round of Plus activities & when it pops up, then go give those pants a good long drink. Knock out your dailys as they pop up in your Plus section & you can grind all day long!

Omg EJs song though…love it hahaha just following on from Kuries tip about the nook miles….try to hoard them at the start. Not only do you need to earn a heap but you will need to spend a heap when you get terraforming. It cost about 26,000 miles to buy all the pathing and permits. The only things I spend miles on is expanding my pockets and getting the pretty good tools recipes.

Just restarted and your video taught me a lot of things I did not know or had not noticed and should have known. I also really appreciated the different player contributions. Thank you for a well made and reasonably short video!

To counter what ceo said, ( its good to get more durable tools but...) don't upgrade you're axe! Yes its good for it to last longer but when you're chopping for wood the upgraded axe chops the whole tree down and it won't grow back. I'd use the weaker axe because it gives you all the wood, its cheaper and it doesn't cut the entire tree down. This only applies for the axe btw

To bounce off that tool idea, I like to buy my tools from Nooks. Why? Because you can use customization kits to customize those tools. That will reset the durability of each tool back to zero, as if it's new. If you do it periodically when you remember, you can spend a ton less on new tools and all for the price of a workbench. It's also a good way to do those dailies too.

@@Tabbyhasbees I think it may also work on the crafted tools, but definitely not as many. I prefer to buy from Nooks and keep an extra net or other often used tool in my inventory. Plus, the patterns are way cuter at Nooks

One thing I do is, when you've got the ability to have the good tools, buy several of each so, if playing at night, if they break, you can just go home and get another one.

The 1st day starting an island you’ll have to wait for the 2nd day to buy a swim suit now, you can no longer do it the 1st day. If you donate 5 creatures the 1st day the museum will be open the next day where Blathers will give recipes for shovel and vaulting pole.

Not sure if anyone corrected this or not, but you can plant 50k in the glowing spot, and get a tree with three 50k bags for a total of 150k

Great guide! It's all changed since the update, hasn't it? I used to spend a lot of time on treasure islands cataloging variations, but not any more. With Reese, and the thousands of different items, there's not much point. I restarted for the new year, after using my last island to see what 2.0 can do. Lots of castles, that's what it can do!

If you are trying your best to get a huge load of Bells 🔔all on your own. But since you are doing this all on your own , jus know that I’m with you in spirit. Cuz I’m doing the same thing too , cuz I’m trying my best to plan ahead so I can get what I want. Tip of the Day: But I strongly suggest to new beginners to make your own tools and make xtra of those tools , cuz you will break your first set of tools but if that happens you will have a 2nd set of tools already ready for you to get. But after that you will need to repeat making our tools again , if you end up breaking your 2nd set of tools. But that’s why it’s best to always to remake them , but each time you make and remake them you will get better making and remaking them. But jus don’t go and replacing them , like from Wilbur and or from the Shop. Cuz you are a builder , so you can always make and remake them. But some people will tell you , to get them from other places or to get them from other players but I suggest that you should jus make them yourself. But we all are builders and we all are builders for a reason , so don’t be scared or afraid to make your own tools. But also making your own tools will give you a sense of pride and you will be proud of your own work , but that’s what I’m doing btw. But jus doing stuff all on your own is a good thing to do , so jus take time to build all on your own. But it will take a long time , but it takes tendencies to let it to build on you ie. to let it to grow on you. And have yourself a wonderful builder type of a day.

I just restarted yet again on New Years because I can’t get happy with my islands. Here’s a tip. Invest in a second switch, so if you ever want to restart you have a backup island to save items that way you won’t lose your catalog if you need to restart. I have a regular switch and a switch lite and surprisingly use both of them regularly.

@@Caeleinn you have to have 2 Nintendo online accounts with a different account on each switch then you use the airport to travel back and forth either via your friends list which is easiest or with a dodo code. You also have to own 2 copies of the game, one for each switch.

Under Angela and Donnie's section they said you can't put fish and bugs in your inventory, but I'm able to. I have been able to for quite some time now.

i wasnt paying attention to the intro and got so confused when different acnh youtubers started talking like "that isn't lex's voice" 😭me big dum dum lmao

My personal tip would be to turn every item you intend to sell into a diy item if you can. DIY items sell twice as much as their material.
