The BEST TI-84 Plus CE is a Little Different...
I review my experience turning my TI-84 Plus CE into a mechanical keyboard! This is the best graphing calculator mod I've done so far. Although the TI-84 KE won't be going on a typical calculator buyer's guide or review, any student in high school or college is going to enjoy using it and get a whole lot of attention while they're at it! Just put some Gameboy ROMs on your TI-84 Plus CE and you'll be good to go!
This kit to build a modern desktop calculator was created by Noah Kiser.

Thank you TLM for this wonderful showcase of the TI-84 KE. I could not have done it without your support and the support of the Cemetech community. I am looking forward to version 2, hopefully with 100% more color! This has been an exciting project, full of challenges and learning experiences.
This was a great video! The editing was awesome and the KE is a super cool project. Great job to you and NoahK!
Too bad you still have to jailbreak it to run ASM programs.

This was really fun to make, but super difficult to plan and shoot. Nevertheless I'd absolutely do it again!
This is a super cool project, and I think seeing something like this for the higher end TI-Nspire CX lineup would be phenomenal and could even improve the usage of the device considering its not QWERTY layout
This reminds me of a project from back in the day to create a hard drive for the ti 85, had the ti 86 not come out I might have attempted it. Wish I had now.
Amazing video and voiceover! When is the video for using the TI-84 as a monitor coming out? Extremely excited for it!

Hakko? Must be nice! Found a tossed out 84 Plus to-day. Not sure if it works, as it looks like the batteries were dead! 😂
Awesome project! I would like to upgrade my Casio FX 991 DE calculator to mechanical. It also has test points, but I don' t know how they work or how to use them.
Nice! I’m about a year late to see this, but just subbed. By the way, what part is used for the lcd ribbon extension?
coolest thing i have ever seen in my life.
Can you make a tutorial (if it's possible) for put the screen of the calculator on a other screen (like a tv) ?

Great project. Would have been great if you used a modern processor (snapdragon, etc) and more ram (256mb) and storage (256mb)
@TheLastMillennial
11 ай бұрын
The point of this project was just to give the calculator a new body and key switches. The circuit board was reused from the original calculator. As for upgrading the components... There's a lot of major issues with that. 1. That would require creating an entirely new custom circuit board to account for the wildly different components. 2. The OS is only compatible with the eZ80. It's also specifically made to only use the original ram and storage amount. Making the OS compatible with a snapdragon would mean re-writing the OS from scratch. At this point you have a completely different device and should just make something better than the TI-84 Plus CE. Maybe more like an HP Prime G2 ;)
Can a left handed version of the PCB board by made? So that the metal faceplate can be flipped?

yo bro is there a way i can download NoteFolio on my ti 84 plus ce? cause the original NoteFolio is a flash app and there is no flash memory on my ti 84 plus ce so is there any way??? OR if you know a good dictionary app for ti 84 plus ce with a search function that would replace it THANKS
@TheLastMillennial
Жыл бұрын
The CE does have flash memory (called Archive memory), the app is just incompatible across calculator models. Unfortunately I don't know of an alternative however cemetech.net ticalc.org and tiplanet.org would be the best places to look.

This looks like a TI 92 or Voyage 200 on steroids. What said your teacher or whatever supervisor in your exam to this calculator? It looks like a small computer for cheating with wireless or some Powerful math programs. Thats the reason why Ti change the Querty to an alphabetic layout on the Nspire series. Then in the USA the Qwerty keyboard Calculators are considered as mini computers and are not allowed in the standardized tests.
