The BEST Things About Owning a McLaren 570GT

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

These are the best things about owning a McLaren 570GT, in my experience. I've owned this car since August 2022 and have put over 1,200 miles on it. As the McLaren is about to head into the garage for winter, I think now is the perfect time to reflect on the positives as an owner of a McLaren 570GT.
Any questions?

I just drove my 570GT 700 miles in a day between Utah and Southern California in 9 hours. This is the second time I’ve done this run in my 17 months of ownership. The first hour took me a while to get comfy then I was fine for the next 8 hours. The car is reliable. But you need to drive them.

Wow, that’s quite a trip! The reliability in my experience is definitely overblown. I’ve driven mine about 6k miles in over a year and have had no real issues other than an oil leak that was covered under warranty. The car was back to me in a week from that service. Love your GT btw, that two-tone look is great! I was definitely searching for a yellow when I was in the market but couldn’t find anything.

@@CarsLifeYT Thanks for complimenting My GT. It's a vinyl wrap. My wrap master Joey and his crew at Endless Auto was referred to me by Hunter at West Coast Exotics 3 years ago and he's been my guy ever since. He's wrapped 4 of the current exotics in my garage. He's so good I don't care about the exterior color of any car I buy anymore because I know I can get it to look exactly how I want with a wrap. Glad to see you are putting miles on your S. Way to go!

@@skittlesgarage Really cool, I thought that was factory as McLaren offers that combo. Very nice. Always good to not have to worry about the exterior, you might be able to buy less sought after colors for cheaper (i.e. white Ferraris) and just wrap to preference.

Love my 570S!! Thanks much for sharing your experience with the 570GT...hope you continue to enjoy! And you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about the attention. If you're not a 'people's person' - do NOT get a McLaren!! Hahah

Glad you’re liking it! What spec do you have? The car’s been amazing this past year, lots of fun.

What would you say the negatives are now since you've been driving it longer? Like how's the reliability as a daily driver? Do things break more easily compared to other supercars?

Reliability the past year has been great. Keep in mind, I don’t daily it but I’ve put about 4k miles on it since I bought it. The only thing that’s failed has been the Tailgate latch, but that was covered under warranty. I’d definitely put together a video going over negatives but there hasn’t been a whole lot in my experience.

Debating between this and a 2019 Aston Martin Vantage after the winter. I know the Mclaren will be next level for the attention it gets and that’s giving me some pause, especially because I’m a foreigner and do not speak the local language. How do you deal with people that want to sit in it for example? Or sit on it? I think 90% would be positive but there could be some issues.

I love the 2019+ Vantages. Strongly considering one of those for another car in the future. Love the sound. I don’t let people sit in the car unless I know them personally, but I’ll always gladly open the doors for them so they can see the interior. I just try to be nice and share the car with people that appreciate it. As for people that may sit on it, unfortunately I don’t have eyes everywhere so if it’s ever parked somewhere out of sight I just have to hope people are behaving around it or only park it where I know it’ll be safe. The majority of the time the attention is very positive. I’ve had no negative interactions so far.

@@CarsLifeYT Thanks, maybe I’ll follow that principle as well. The country I am in now a girl told me people may smile and be positive but secretly they’ll hope I’ll crash. Multiple other women laughed and said this was true when I asked about the mentality. Anyways, cheers.

Nope. Biggest thing I’ve had was an oil leak that required the engine to come out but that was all covered under warranty.

What’s the cost of servicing this car?

  • @CarsLifeYT

    @CarsLifeYT

Depends on what it is and the year of service, but your yearly maintenance should likely run a few thousand + $3k to renew your warranty each year which I’d seriously recommend you do. All in all you’re looking at about ~$5k+ annually.

Why keep it in storage? Drive it! They love to be driven and used. Should be driven at least 1-2 times a month

Unfortunately in the Northeast we get weather that doesn’t always allow driving these, but I absolutely drive it every time I’m able and having a ton of fun! A bit over 5k miles in the first year of ownership.
