I was skeptical about Cucu at first but he changed my mind during that 2nd leg game against Dortmund in UCL under Graham Potter. Ever since that time I've felt fans are having some group mentality toward him where they're being negative. Even these reactors on YT. No one is a freethinker these days. He's had his poor days yes, but to call him a flop is totally outrageous in my opinion

Southgate was more concerned with not hurting the feelings of his regulars than wining the game.At least Chelsea won, one goal and one assist. Bring on the season.

I think people mis-profiled Cucurella initially at Brighton and back in La Liga before he joined Chelsea He has always been more of an aggressive, counter-pressing fullback rather than great 1-v-1 marking defender

This is what I see with Palmer and a little with Bellingham versus everyone else. When they get the ball they are looking for their next pass when he gets the ball he’s looking for a goal creating action.

Nini. I think you're over-thinking this. The simple reality is that they ran and ran and ran. We could not match that. People are very quick to dis Conor Gallagher because 'they say' he doesn't contribute enough in possession. Guess what guys, if you don't win the ball back THERE IS NO POSSESSION. Selecting Mainoo to START ahead of Gallagher was optimistic but naive and it did not work. Hopefully we as a club will take this free lesson onboard for next season. BTW Go check Foden's match stats. He could play in this Spanish team in terms of the amount of running he did throughout the tournament. Saka (the Greenford Grealish) just doesn't have the physical resources to affect the game out of possession.

If England would have started Palmer and started Ivan Toney or Watkins over kane they would have won Kane movement is not as good as it used to be and he also can’t run behind CB bc he’s too slow

Southgate has to go now. We go through the same act every time. England play poorly in the group and scrape through. They luckily get the easier side of the bracket for an easy road to the final. Struggle past mediocre teams in the knockout rounds. Come up against a good team in the final and get exposed playing scared defensive football. We have too many talented players to waste on negative defensive English managers, get someone in who can get the best out of this group whatever their nationality.
