My first jet was a Yikes-15, back when the NS-23s were as effective as sparklers.

I wish this f-80a gameplay had some footage against su-11's, I know how to beat them but it is frustrating to find one pilot who is half decent and lets the plane carry itself

Try GRB! You don’t fight all the best fighters, so you can actually make a profit, you destroy some CAS, and you get some practice/upgrades.

I just love Spit climbing from the runway, even though any and all jets are straight up better energy converters when their speed is higher

@@Spitflyer Yeah but I think what he was saying is that you’d get to the same altitude much faster by zoom climbing rather than just climbing. Jet engines put out more thrust the faster they’re going because the air speed helps the compressor stage be more efficient.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy Which would make a zoom climb just as bad due to the loss of airspeed, just climb at a higher steady IAS would be the best- accelerate to over 500 before even starting to pitch up to maintain that speed in the climb.

@@actually5004 Great username! Bullet said it better than I could. If you go 600 IAS and climb at a 15* you end up at 3-4 km a lot faster and still have 500 IAS. Now Spit is going 300 IAS and stays at 300 IAS the entire duration of the climb, aka he is literally throwing energy away due to the jet being inefficient

@@susixi7250 18k. I bought it just before the update made it 18k. First vehicle I got a expert crew on, and this is what they give me... The one with the 20mm is 19k repair cost. It ain't even overperforming gaijin please this is too expensive.

I recently bought the Wetmore’s P-51 (which is extremely good, I can definitely see a difference between it and the D-20), and your videos on it help me refine my skills. I love this thing, it was such a comfortable plane to fly after getting it, since I was used to super props at that point

I bought a talisman for this to grind out my top tier jets but because of braindead A2D-1 teammates that base rush and die, and Su-11 enemies, about 80% of matches were losses and usually it was 1v5. Good jet though

ah the shooting star fast and easy to fly it's really powerful imo better than the F 84 despite it's low top speed

I agree. My favorite is the 262 and the way i got so good with it was by playing the 262 first, getting clapped by the P-80, playing the P-80 to learn its strenghts, and then clapping them with the 262. The Schwalbe imo has better flight charactaristics, but the engines lack behind and cant at all defeat other planes with same alttitude. Only method then is doing a reversal and praying youre in a 1 v 1, but if the P-80 pilot has similar skill sealing to you, you lose every time

i find that not using the gun upgrades gives you a wider spread, wide enough to saturate an area, dealing reliable crits, but not how narrow they are with the upgrade, which can cause you to miss more shots

personally i reckon the best starter jet is the vampire. its in 3 nations and a great turner with some decent guns. although since the uptier, dunno how true that is now. grinded all my rank 5 and half my rank 6 planes with the vampire

My first jet was the F86A5 back in the glory days, it was a really good time for this game. Wish they’d do more regular events so we can play the old Sabre vs Mig games again. Was a truly balanced time in the meta, with some unfortunate bumps but there was no level 3 players in SU25s nuking you.

I’m a very ass aviation player (my best K/D in a plane I play regularly is the F7F it’s just under 2) and I just got the Sabre and I’m so ass with it, I get like one assist before a missile or teammate kills them and then I’ll fly for like 2 minutes get in a turn fight with someone and then get 3rd partied almost every game

My first jet was the sk-60, I didnt get to jets until real late because I was a runaround sue when it came to declaring loyalty to a nation, but I'm finally settled in america

This was my first jet. I was terrible with it, and probably still am. Tbh I think the f84B is the best starter jet, but the p/f80a is definitely a good one too.

Man I’ve only got a few days of premium and I’ve been using it on Italy and Germany. But now all I’ve been seeing is this plane is the best to go and that means I’d have to start my grind back up on usa. I’m so stuck

In my eyes it is 262. It is not bad in single aspect but it forces you to do things correctly. You climb in slow speeds? Killed. You go for enemy you shouldnt? Dead. F80 is way too much forgiving and actually it used to be pretty much useless plane, i dont like how gaijin made it one of early jets....while 262 is seemingly useless

A great video! Would you consider making a video about the best starter jet for learning missile gameplay? As much as people who suck at it or have never tried it, meme about how easy it is, there are aspects that require skill and knowledge. I see so many people in their premium A-10 warthogs, wondering "why is my AIM-9L so shit" while failing to realize the missile itself won't magically launch at mach 2.5 from the 400km/h travelling brick. And I was also really frustrated with people incorrectly predicting the A-10 to be a destroyer of worlds with AIM-9L's. So many top tier players don't understand how important the launching plane is, when talking about missile combat. So many seem to think that the only thing which matters is getting a lock and firing the missile, and that the result is just down to luck or something.

I'd venture to suggest the Scimitar F mainly because it handles so poorly. Shows you exactly how and when to launch

I hated props so I didn't touch air rb until I got the f86f35 I sucked at it until I got the f80 and it was eye opening one f80 game and everything I was doing wrong made sense

The F-104A was the jet that taught me jets Edit: it was the jet I got more than 1 kill on every match (I started to get 3-5 each match with the 104)

they are all made of paper, anything that hits you will kill you nine times out of ten. all the zero variants climb well and out-turn nearly everything, but are not the fastest. the mg and cannons don't hit very hard unless you are using a variant with the 30 mm, which will one shot most things but has very limited ammo (it also sounds great imo). landing properly is annoying, using the breaks will make you faceplant. never used the ki variants so couldn't tell you about them.

Can you play the Me262? Surprised you haven't played it, and I am a thorough enjoyer :)

Very nice jet and can quite easily deal with most Su-11 players. Less experienced players tend to make the mistake of trying to turnfight and burn energy, the F-80 turns fairly good on the other hand, which makes them quite potent against Su-11s. But man, the .50s are just pain sometimes. Once you have experienced cannons, .50s just are a huge pain in the ass with how much hits you need to get on target at times. It's really hope for a fire or be prepared to commit to the same target for a bit longer. If the F-80 got a pair of 20mm cannons however i'd defintely play it more.

Love the f11, it being a gift vehicle and I think it might be a touch spendy, it makes a quite good 2nd or 3rd jet trainer, if the missile armed sabers we're more like 8.7

You and your friend won't fight each other? When my friends and I see each other in a game we immediately make a beeline to try and shoot each other down, then clip it and post it in discord. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

Currently trying to play the Kikka, the *worst* jet in the game. Yes, it's worse than the He-162. The 162 at least has the phenomenal Mg-151s so you can reliably land hits. The Kikka wouldn't be so horrible if its gun was accurate and didn't spark every single round.

It's not unique to the F-80C, a lot of planes have limited WEP, it's just that they have a much more generous amount relatively (the 80C is a jet, so it will use more). Not quite sure what the stuff is that allows for higher engine performance, but I think it's just water injection or something like that. Other examples are: the P-51H has about 8 minutes of WEP and the F8F has about 12 minutes I believe. Usually planes with limited WEP are high performance engines, which gain a lot of performance when WEP'ing.
