Great Fun bike, well suited for those who enjoy small engines. Although I will suggest one thing... slow down... you’re travelling too fast! old mate in the truck did see you coming and had the right away to pull out since he was at the round about first... people in vehicles can not possibly know the speed you are travelling, you had no right to be upset with the driver as you were travelling too fast ( I don’t need to see your speedo to know youre speeding by looking through your GoPro) Suburban areas are not the place to be hooking around doing a review on a motorcycle “especially if you’re talking at the same time which can be quite distracting! find a quite area, hit the hills (hinterlands) your risks will be A LOT lower. Trust me 👍

The best small superbike ever made so far.. Gear-driven camshafts..you absolutely can't hurt it.. Up to the smallest details it is a gem! The sound..you wouldn't forget and the steering is amazing..and gives a safe feeling to reach out for more angle.. This little superbike is beautiful in and outwards. You should have driven it on a curved highway.., laying flat on the fueltank makes you become ONE with this little screamer..:-) Thanks for showing it to us!

I love these bikes and I will NEVER part with mine. I fitted a YSS rear shock from an NC30 (fits fine no fettling needed), I fitted K Tech fork Springs, Gilles rearsets from an older CBR 600 ( use 4 swing arm bobbins on the retaining bolts to space the rearsets away from the frame to enable the pressure switch clearance). Pirelli Diablo Rosso II is my tyre choice too .My bike is always track ready and 2 clicks away from perfection.The CBR400 baby blade which I also owned in the past is not a patch on the NC35 which is a shame but hey ho thats the way it is.Thank you Honda xx.

Yep. Too much detergent.

I'm 6'2 and I don't find it cramped at all. All so I have always ran mine on 98 octane fuel with no issues at all. They are awesome bikes that's for sure

Watching this video as there is a Repsol orange RVF400 for sale and I'm interested in what it's actually like, good video, thanks.

yeah the LAMS market is always going to drive the price of these bikes up. I love the CBR400RR, those things are Rare as %^& in Aus and actually go as fast as they sound compared to the CBR 250rr

Rvf800 or thou wouldn't be the same. This little thing is a gem.

I'd love one of these if they weren't so expensive...I feel they'd be half the price if weren't LAMS approved,and in such demand for that reason? I can get a nice F4i or 600RR for a lot less money than a good/clean RVF400 unfortunately. My 2001 Honda NSR150SP is awesome for supermarket trips,and getting through heavy traffic...but it's a pain on long trips having to bring a bottle of 2-stroke oil along in my backpack - and it also is on almost 7,000 RPM doing 100 km/h on the freeway,and working hard (even though it's top speed is maybe 180 km/h?). I'm on full unrestricted license,and looking for a second bike that is a 4 stroke of at least 400 in size...so have been considering one of these. Don't just want to rush out and buy the biggest/most powerful thing I'm can. I've had other bikes besides Honda's in the past (before I had a License to ride them on the road) , such as a Yamaha YZ80 , Suzuki RM250 and Suzuki GT250 X7...but I want another Honda for my second bike. Thanks for the video! =)

On the fence between a VFR/RVF400 and R6, coming from a Ducati 1098s. My question is, would you know how much it would cost to service the carbs? Can’t seem to find a price range online on the forums. Thanks ✌🏽

I've ridden both the RVF & R6. A well sorted RVF is more nimble than an R6 however the RVF lacks the top end of the 600cc. It'll cost about $300-$400AUD to get the carbs serviced & rejetted. If you are mechanically minded you can do it yourself for about $100-150 in parts.

What was the point of blurring out the motorcycle in the beginning, especially as that was the only time to look at it through the whole video?

One question, how hard is it to find workshops that can fix stuff or to do maintenance? Jetting the carbs is not something I want to get my hands on.

It's pretty easy to find a workshop to do it. A workshop will charge about from $300-$400AUD to rejet the carbs on an RVF400. It isn't a hard job & you could do it yourself in a day/weekend.

hey mate, thanks for the no 98 tip. ive been filling my bike with 98 recently to give it a try but always did 95. would any damage be done after a few tanks of 98? cheers

Is your bike an RVF400 or a carby bike? If your bike is EFI, 98 will be totally fine. You will know within 1-2 tanks of fuel if 98 fuel is causing issues for your bike. The throttle will feel "spongey" or "delayed" and it may feel down on power/torque. Ride safe!

Can you keep up the 600cc bikes or does it not have enough power?

Thanks for the review I have just bought one but waiting on transport to my address, this will be interesting because I already own a CBR400 and I am keen to test them back to back as I have heard about this better midrange in the RVF but to be honest I have not seen any dyno evidence to prove that there is, there maybe some seat of the pants phenomena going on here because of the firing order of the V4 which I still cannot work out other then it is a 360 degree crank I am pretty sure it is not a "big bang engine" and it clearly is not the same as an inline 4. Wiki even mentions this better mid range but the line is followed by "citation needed" so there is no source for this statement, both engines have the same bore and stroke and list the same output for the same years.

odd about the 98... is there maybe a lot of ethanol in the 98 where you live?

I'm not sure what it is but both the RVFs i've had would run rough on 98, very strange. My other bikes and cars all run fine on 98 from the same servos.

I've heard that Australia has some of the worst refined fuel in the world. 98 is full of detergents.

Lmao whats the point putting thise horrible looking blurred parts on the video to hide the number plate if you crouch and immediately show the number? Hahaha
