Great job I need to do that to my closet. I saw the bed you made in your last video. I made my son that bed, When I saw the bed, it put a smile on my face. Thanks again Pete!

That's awesome you did the same bed! Yeah we had to move to a King but are saving the frame for when we add on and can use it again :) Cheers!

Helpful video. I'm getting some ideas for my closets shelves. Different layout but I might be using some of your construction methods.

Some of my favourite projects of yours that I have used parts of are the shed organization one, the ice rink series and the raised garden bed. The Murphy Bar and zamboni projects I have filed away just in case I have a reason to use it.

Does look great, I like the shelves on one side. We have a tiny hall closet and shelves all the way across just get messy. I like that idea of at least a gap in the middle where you can sort of lean/step into the closet a bit.

Thanks Bruce! The gap does work well for us so far, but fun to hear about all the different configurations! Cheers

That's a *huge* closet. All of the closets in my 50's ranch are about half that size.

Thanks! 43 inches wide by 28 inches deep. We finished out our basement last year and built the closet to give us a little more storage in the house.

For future projects you should consider shorter screws. If there is a wire in the middle of a stud a 3 inch screw can reach it. Aim for 1 inch penetration into the stud.

haha I was thinking 'woah, 3" screws, this guy has giant cajones'. have definitely seen a lot of other videos of folks going, 'oops didn't think there would be a wire / water/drain/exhaust pipe there'.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! I built this closet from scratch in our unfinished ( now finished ) basement, so I knew where all electrical was ran in the walls, but agree 3 inch is overkill. Thanks!

@ 9:10 I've learned, the hard way, to put painters tape on the wall where I am marking, so as not too mark on the wall.
