Abu Garcia Skid Jig - This jig has been around for a while (2016 to be exact) and outside of Japan, Australia and New Zealand isn't very widely circulated. It was released under Berkley outside of the markets mentioned but didn't really take off because very little is explained about this jig and how to be effective with it.
Firstly, the eyes of this jig isn't in the usual slow jig orientation - because it is meant to be fished differently...but as long as you just work it as a long fall jig, you should be ok. Well, not quite, I would call the stroke "short long fall".
I've used this jig and have initially failed until I got to understand it more and after that, my success rate on these jigs have been on the uptrend...so much so that I am down to my last jig.

Thank you for this video. I have numerous Abu skid jigs in my box and never really had much success with them. So much so that I don't even bring them along with me anymore. After your vid I am inspired to give them another go.

In my experience, in fishing sliding jigs, most fish often hit the end of the jig that's leading. It's counter intuitive; a fish would only strike at one end of a sliding jig. Looks to me, the way that the jig is rigged with long assist cords, is asking a fish to dog bone it. The better way to rig the jig is with four, 3/0 assist hooks with short cords.
