Thanks for the Vid. UPDATED #2(!): I bought the Jet Mach 3. I also bought the SFX3 which feel quite similar to the Jet Mach but the toe box is wider and more flexable. I also bought the new Tyson Viper Pro Skechers and they are COMPLETELY different from the OG viper in construction and feel. They are more like what someone from a tennis background would expect a PB shoe to be like- highly recommend you give them a chance. I also have the Adidas Game Court 2- which feels most like a 'traditional' tennis shoe. The jetmachs are great, feeling substantial/durable but not overly bulky. They are form fitting and responsive. The slight outsole extension gives heel a bit more stability. The Wide size fits my foot perfectly as I have like a 1/2 wide foot and sometimes true wides are too big; being a Europeans company, their sizes run a bit smaller. I can see now more of why you might not like the OG skechers if you prefer more of a traditional tennis shoe. First, the sketchers fit me perfectly with their 'relaxed fit.' The thing about the skechers is that they don't have as much midsole padding as the other shoes and they cut lower at the ankle but that's what makes them feel very light and maneuverable. The other thing is that the soles- the heel throughout the toe, feel much more cushy than the jet machs and tennis shoes in general. At first I thought they would be too cushy (like a running shoe) but I find the shoe very stable and they feel even better throughout the play session like it molds to my feet. They are the most comfy PB shoes, in terms of soles, i have tried. The Viper pros are also very comfy but i give the edge to the OG viper. When i saw what you did to the viper toe I was like 'he must have put them on upsidown because how in the world could anyone do that in one play session (LOL)?' Ive never experienced any durability issues with any skechers. The removable insoles of my OG vipers have since worn out and I got the Move Game Day insoles which are very durable and comfy albeit they make the shoe feel a bit more cramped due to them being an actual insole and not the cheap ones most shoes come with. I got the JetMachs at TennisExpress for about $65, same price as the OG and Pro skechers (both with sale discounts/coupons.) The OG viper neon green ones are ridic (as are Tyson's pink Viper Pros) but hey, this is pickleball and honestly, those New Balance ones are way uglier (LOL).

Being honest, I have been wearing Donovan Mitchell Issue 4. For being basketball shoes, they got good wide spacing for my toes, and nice structure for lateral movement and great spring. Also versatile for indoor wood top and outdoor concrete courts

The Head Revolt Pro 4.0 vs Head Revolt Evo 2.0 naming/numbering is confusing. It seems like the Evo is the 2.0, and the Pro is the 4.0., as I can't find any Pro 2.0 or Evo 4.0. Doesn't help that you don't have a link to the Pro 4.0s lol. Can you add any clarification about this?

Have you tried the Head Sprint 3.5 or the Tyrol Drive V yet? Love that you mentioned the wide foot concern, but when you say that if we have wider feet than yours... how can we access that? Can you give us an idea of the dimensions of your feet, especially the toebox area, please?

Huh. I played tennis for over 40 years and never played on a wooden basketball floor before. Or smoothed concrete. I think I played on synth at an indoor club in Sioux City. Wife and I have both had great luck with shoes that seem to have been designed around volleyball: gum soles. I had great luck with the cheap ASICS Rockets and my wife loves her Mizuno shoes. Also work well on synthetic surface and surprisingly well on polished concrete. We avoid playing outdoors but they work well, we both have logged too many hours outdoors playing tennis, basketball, mountain biking and being mailmen.

I concur with your assessment of the HEAD Revolt Pro 4.0 shoes. I've been wearing them for about a month based on Pickleball Studios recommendation. Overall they are holding up very well and feel great!! Although the stock insoles are much better than most, I did upgrade to the Superfeet ADAPT run insoles due to ongoing plantar faciiitis issues. This combination has significantly reduced that ongoing issue. Any idea why Head has 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, & 4.0 shoes? I'm still trying to wrap my brain around all the differences.

I used to use the same Superfeet insoles as well as the Zelus insoles. Those insoles are definitely quite nice, but pretty pricy ($50-$60). They ripped and wore out in about 4 months for me and Zelus' customer service was like non-responsive to me. I stopped buying insoles just because they're so expensive and Head Insoles are like super good already. I think they're just different models, price ranges, and materials. TLDR, the 4.0 is more durable but a smidge heavier. The 2.0 is slightly lighter, but the outside is cloth, not reinforced. 2.0 is cheaper, but doesn't come with the 6 month outsole guarantee.

I’m going to have to warn (some) people off the Head Revolt 4.0 shoes. The white and neon yellow ones I got have a clear, textured upper that looks like it has breathing spaces…but don’t. It’s solid, unperforated plastic. I couldn’t blow air through any part of the upper, other than the tongue. So, the few holes in the bottom and the nicely meshed tongue are the only places that allowed Ingress/egress of air. After an hour today my feet felt like they were on fire. I’ll have to find something mesh again, even if it means going for more of the cheap ASICS Rockets. Comfy, breathable uppers and durable. Probably avoided because they’re cheap.

I have the exact pair of Skechers, but I have the opposite experience. I love them. Have only wore for 12 hours of court time so far, but I find them quite comfortable. By the way, they are called Skechers Relaxed Fit Viper Court. I am very athletic & am hard on shoes. Four three hour intense sessions of pickleball and they still look new. I give them an A so far. Also, I don't find them ugly- lol

@@edjupickleball Thanks for the reply. I ordered the Head Revolt 2's yesterday a half size up and should get them today. Fingers crossed. I had *loved* the K-Swiss Hypercourt's because they are so light and also flexible but it turned out that was a bad combo for my older feet. Within a week or so of wearing them I developed a major foot issue/pain that sidelined me for a couple of months.

So true. That’s why the Revolt 4.0’s that came today worry the heck out of me. Fit and finish are outstanding but it appears the only breathing points are the tongue and the little holes on the bottom. I just took them off after wearing them for an hour and my feet feel like they were in ovens. I tried blowing through the uppers and no air passed through. After my 3 hours of play tomorrow morning I’ll bet my feet are soaking wet. I’m used to wearing the cheap, but plenty breathable, comfortable and durable ASICS Rockets, which served me well (after changing the insoles). Wondering if I should just send them back before I possibly end up in Blisterville.
