I started rabbits at 13 also! She inspired me a ton when it comes to rabbits. I’m 15 now and I’ve got 11 breeder rabbits and I love raising bunnies. I raid holland lops. My advice to you is to start with the best quality rabbits that you can afford and don’t make the mistake I did of just getting the first rabbits you can get your hands on. I’m just now getting to the point where I have show quality rabbits.

Good morning I just found your channel yesterday and I watched several of your videos already. You do such a great job on your videos!! Very professional!! I'm 65 years old and live in Indiana. When I was a young boy my Dad and I raised meat rabbits for a number of years till I got out of high school and got married. Those were some of the best years of my life and you are bringing those memories back to me to enjoy all over again. Please keep doing what you're doing because you are such a natural in front of the camera and that is no easy thing to do. Thank you so much and take care. Larry

Just got done building one of these and I'm so happy with it! The plans are clear, concise, and just beautiful. I'm pretty experienced so I usually just wing it when I build things but this plan saved me a lot of time, money, and trips to the lumber yard! I live in a rainy area so I upgraded to pressure treated 2x4's and added siding to the exterior of the dens. I also split it into two pens with one smaller den on each end, with two roof doors. My bunnies are very much enjoying their upgrade! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful product.

I moved back in July and I have a few over the door hangers I used in my apartment that don't fit any of my cabinets in this house. I was considering taking them to goodwill, but I think you just gave me another idea for what I can do with them. I have a colony set up for my rabbits, but I've been putting their hay in a cardboard box. As expected, they ate the cardboard box. Those hangers I can use in the house anymore will probably be great in my rabbit enclosure. I'm watching this video because I need to build a second enclosure so I can split the girls and boys.

@@kawaiisenshi2401 if you are referring to what to built first for growouts, she has plans for the tractor, and these as far as I know. I built the tractors because I wanted my growouts to have fresh grass everyday. Quickly I realized it is hard work to move them everyday (they are heavy), and also (in my climate) keep them off of wet ground when it rains. 2 major downfalls. These plans though seem to take care of both those problems. However, it does deny them of being on the ground with fresh grass. I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

Wondering whether it may be cost effective to purchase enough wire for both and make the modular cages myself.

Not a silly question! For my breeder cages in the barn, I did cut the wire. But for the growout hutches, I drilled two holes in the back of the metal and two holes in the den wall. Then looped zip ties around so it’s suspended against the wall. I hope that makes sense 🙂

Hello! I just finished building one and it comes in just about $200 before taxes including all the wire, fasteners, and lumber. I live in oregon and I've heard our lumber is more expensive but we also don't have sales tax. You can save money by only using 1 sheet of metal for the lid the way that Tiffany did in the video if you don't live in a rainy or snowy area. I cut mine and turned it sideways so the rain runs off properly but it ends up taking 2 sheets instead of 1. You could also save a little by making one long side plywood instead of cage wire, But I would only do that If you have very very mild summers as it would cut down on the ventilation quite a bit. If you are Building more than one you can save by buying the wire in bulk. I also made mine 2 cages by putting a divider in the middle and making two separate smaller dens. I felt like this plan was a very good bang for the buck and I think it saved money to have a clear plan.

I can't believe you are handling them so early, when I had rabbits about 40+ years ago, if I touched even one of them, the mother would kill them. Do you have a preferred breed of rabbit that you liek to use?

I have a question. I see so many people are using the bigger wire for rabbits, but I’m concerned about snakes. We have a lot around here, and I know a pretty big snake can fit through a 1” x 1” hole. I’m not concerned about the adults, but I would be concerned about the smaller baby bunnies. Is this ever a problem for anyone?

Is there a reason why y'all don't put trays underneath the cages to utilize the rabbit droppings for fertilizer? Just curious. I'm trying to learn about rabbits and quail. I have zero knowledge or experience. Just thought animal droppings tend to be beneficial for land.
