I started rabbits at 13 also! She inspired me a ton when it comes to rabbits. I’m 15 now and I’ve got 11 breeder rabbits and I love raising bunnies. I raid holland lops. My advice to you is to start with the best quality rabbits that you can afford and don’t make the mistake I did of just getting the first rabbits you can get your hands on. I’m just now getting to the point where I have show quality rabbits.

Good morning I just found your channel yesterday and I watched several of your videos already. You do such a great job on your videos!! Very professional!! I'm 65 years old and live in Indiana. When I was a young boy my Dad and I raised meat rabbits for a number of years till I got out of high school and got married. Those were some of the best years of my life and you are bringing those memories back to me to enjoy all over again. Please keep doing what you're doing because you are such a natural in front of the camera and that is no easy thing to do. Thank you so much and take care. Larry
Congratulations on the grant, and your new hutches! I'm also a (new) member of the Livestock Conservancy. Followed them for many years before that.
I can't wait for my husband and I to get our own place so I can start my own rabbit farm 😁 love your plans and I will be buying them when the time arrives
It seemed you didnt really want to ask people to buy plans to build. Maybe i read your face wrong lol but anyways wanted to tell you dont feel bad for monetization of your skills and knowledge. You have a superior passion for rabbits and you deserve to make a great living.
Love your set up for one reason and one reason only, you are organized and you keep your system clean as you can. This is healthy for everyone and much easier to raise food this way. God Bless
These plans would make great Christmas gifts!! 🎁 Buy the plans and then take your bunny lover to the lumber yard and buy them the materials and help them make their hutch.🔨 Also i love how clean you keep your barn yard and rabbits!

Thank you! My oldest daughter was building her first hutch and run and this helped us tremendously.
Beautiful, Tiffany. Thank you for sharing!
Just got done building one of these and I'm so happy with it! The plans are clear, concise, and just beautiful. I'm pretty experienced so I usually just wing it when I build things but this plan saved me a lot of time, money, and trips to the lumber yard! I live in a rainy area so I upgraded to pressure treated 2x4's and added siding to the exterior of the dens. I also split it into two pens with one smaller den on each end, with two roof doors. My bunnies are very much enjoying their upgrade! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful product.

I moved back in July and I have a few over the door hangers I used in my apartment that don't fit any of my cabinets in this house. I was considering taking them to goodwill, but I think you just gave me another idea for what I can do with them. I have a colony set up for my rabbits, but I've been putting their hay in a cardboard box. As expected, they ate the cardboard box. Those hangers I can use in the house anymore will probably be great in my rabbit enclosure. I'm watching this video because I need to build a second enclosure so I can split the girls and boys.
Good Information! Thanks for sharing. 😎🤜👍
I would need a grant to buy 14g wire, it's outrageous.
Newer subscribers and your channel is a perfect fit for my family. New to raising rabbits so all your information is helping. Currently we have 4 week old kits, so watching all these butchering videos. Your video just clicks with me as you describe the process. Thank you for taking the time to teach us. Question for you where did you purchase the wire for this hutch design? Thanks again for all the great info. Next week we are off from work and we are going to build a hutch with your design. How exciting!

@stitchinginthesticks2719
5 ай бұрын
@@kawaiisenshi2401 if you are referring to what to built first for growouts, she has plans for the tractor, and these as far as I know. I built the tractors because I wanted my growouts to have fresh grass everyday. Quickly I realized it is hard work to move them everyday (they are heavy), and also (in my climate) keep them off of wet ground when it rains. 2 major downfalls. These plans though seem to take care of both those problems. However, it does deny them of being on the ground with fresh grass. I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

@stitchinginthesticks2719 would these grow out pins be an alternative the the 8 bunny teal pen she built a few years ago? Is this the upgraded version?
How long will the wood on these hutches last in the weather before you have to replace it all ?

We are about to bring rabbits into our homestead here. I’ve had them in the past but it’s been several years . I think I’m gonna do New Zealand or a silk rabbit.
I don't know if you already have a video about it, you talked a little about it but I would love to see a video about your winter rabbit care where you are? I live in about the same climate and I will be moving and have to change my rabbit setup and want to make sure they have the best setup I can provide.
Very nice!!! If you might be looking for ways to protect the wood, look up the Japanese method of preserving wood called Shou Sugi Ban. No nasty chemicals needed and very easy.
Thanks.
Looks fantastic! I like a lot of your ideas…. Very thoughtful & innovative! May I ask… why are your feeders on the inside instead of the bin portion on the outside? Thanks! Also love your bunnies!❤

5 ай бұрын
Thank you! They are actually “over the cabinet door” wire organizers from Walmart. I put a link in the description of similar ones from Amazon. Just something I’m experimenting with 🙂
For now you can lift one end up about an inch or two, that should allow some of the rain to flow out. Not too much help with the snow.
I’m expecting my first litter on March 7th.. well my doe Buttercup is lol, I’m anxious today is the 2nd and I noticed her pulling fur. I got her bred so I was worried they have her breeding date wrong so added her nest box today. I’m really hoping she isn’t going early. I wish that I was able to find Cream D’Argents here in Georgia. I would LOVE to raise them but to get started I just have New Zealand Whites. After I learn what I’m doing maybe I can find me a pair of Creams
QUESTION- I know bucks go sterile after being exposed to high temps. How long after the temps drop back down are they fertile again?
Excellent build on the cages. Only thing I would do is put blocks underneath the legs to keep them off the ground.

Yes, definitely a good idea! Thank you!
Nice to see you’re finally making some money off these hutch plans. You mentioned the wire being the most expensive part of your build. Do you figure it’s on par with the cost of KW cages? I am about to build a 4 hole hutch using your original plans and will still need a growout after that. Wondering whether it may be cost effective to purchase enough wire for both and make the modular cages myself.
How did you go about finding out about that grant for your rabbits? I raise Silver Foxes and I’d love to try to apply for a grant to expand my program.
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤❤❤
Where do you purchase your wire from, we are having a hard time finding 1/2”x 1” Galvanized 14ga
Where were you able to buy your 14 gauge hardware cloth for the bottom? I can't find anything 14 gauge around here
I looked on your web page but I could not find any information on due litter pricing.
Is there any way to get these plans in a printed book? Say from print on demand?
How are the j feeders mounted

@@TealStoneHomestead I had another question about your hutches. Do you have any issues with pee/spray getting into the wood? Particularly the older kits, since it doesn't look like you house bucks in them.
Is the wire hard on their feet?
Do they hay baskets rust ?
Sorry, this may sound like a silly question but what have you found is the best way to attach the J feeders. I hate cutting into my cage wire but I can’t get our curious bunnies to push them from underneath and dump the feed.
@TealStoneHomestead
5 ай бұрын
Not a silly question! For my breeder cages in the barn, I did cut the wire. But for the growout hutches, I drilled two holes in the back of the metal and two holes in the den wall. Then looped zip ties around so it’s suspended against the wall. I hope that makes sense 🙂
Is that cotton or fur only asking because my rabbits definitely don’t pull that much hair when they kindle.
Could you just use 1/2" hardware cloth for the bottom instead of 12/" x 1"?
lets go dewalt gang

Hello! I just finished building one and it comes in just about $200 before taxes including all the wire, fasteners, and lumber. I live in oregon and I've heard our lumber is more expensive but we also don't have sales tax. You can save money by only using 1 sheet of metal for the lid the way that Tiffany did in the video if you don't live in a rainy or snowy area. I cut mine and turned it sideways so the rain runs off properly but it ends up taking 2 sheets instead of 1. You could also save a little by making one long side plywood instead of cage wire, But I would only do that If you have very very mild summers as it would cut down on the ventilation quite a bit. If you are Building more than one you can save by buying the wire in bulk. I also made mine 2 cages by putting a divider in the middle and making two separate smaller dens. I felt like this plan was a very good bang for the buck and I think it saved money to have a clear plan.
Oh wow, one of a kind hutch ! Arent you worried about bears smashing them?
@TealStoneHomestead
5 ай бұрын
No bears in Indiana! We just have bobcats, coyotes and raccoons.
what's the difference between a hutch and a grow out hutch?
I can't believe you are handling them so early, when I had rabbits about 40+ years ago, if I touched even one of them, the mother would kill them. Do you have a preferred breed of rabbit that you liek to use?
Rabbits are very good eating...😊 Yum yum
I have a question. I see so many people are using the bigger wire for rabbits, but I’m concerned about snakes. We have a lot around here, and I know a pretty big snake can fit through a 1” x 1” hole. I’m not concerned about the adults, but I would be concerned about the smaller baby bunnies. Is this ever a problem for anyone?
Is there a reason why y'all don't put trays underneath the cages to utilize the rabbit droppings for fertilizer? Just curious. I'm trying to learn about rabbits and quail. I have zero knowledge or experience. Just thought animal droppings tend to be beneficial for land.
@TealStoneHomestead
