"Dear company, let's cut a bull***. I really want to pay my bills and rent on time, save for retirement, pay for my children's education and be able to afford food and clothes. I have no desire to make work the meaning of my existence and your happiness. Money I need. That's why I want to work for you. Not for fame or glory, but for money. Because of the salary. Thank you."😁

I love it that is Great!!!
Believe it or not I've had more interviews using a 1 page CV with a professional summary. It's short, sweet and definitely concise. I know during interviews that some employers have wondered "What's this guy's deal?" or "Do they know what they're doing here?". The professional summary, for me, is the punch. It's the answer, shows my intentions without giving it all away. Love it!

That's very true about career transition/change. It's something I have been struggling with. I like your point about showing your passion for learning and adaptability.
"Take the job description -- eat it -- and just regurgitate keyword vomit right here" 🤣Simple, helpful, funny!
Erin this was so thoughtful of you. I love what you said, and about bridging the game. It have been tough for me for years to create my own resume because I felt all of my fiends can create resumes for me when at times they don't know everything that I have done leaving me unsatisfied with the results, yet appreciative. I wanted to really tell employers what I can offer from my passionate expressive self. Nevertheless, I am still working on my resume and will let you know the outcome from your videos. No one has had ever too the time to show me, nor have I ever asked. They just do it for me.
There is so much content in the web with suggestions to exclude the summary from the CV. But your video changed my mind about it. Now I definitely will update my summary using your tipps. Thank you, Erin!

Yeah, that's probably because a poorly written one can hurt your CV/resume. But if you do it correctly, it's very effective!
Thank you! Your content is very straightforward and helpful! I'm adjusting my resume as I watch and I hope I can get some good results from it!
Hi Erin! I want to say thank you for this video. I really appreciate corporate advice given more cordially than usual. You make it sound like an older friend giving advice over coffee ❤
thank you so much, Erin!! i'm more used to KZread and it's a huge pleasure to see you here, too :)
Thank you for this advice and the useful tips and examples! I had applied to jobs with my resume before, but hardly got any responses back. I watched this video and applied it to my resume - updating it with each new application, as suggested. I did all of this yesterday. Today, I received two calls asking to set up an interview with me this week! I am so overly excited and grateful for this advice. And it was fun to change it up with each new application, to see what I could add that fit the job description. I’ll try to come back here after the interviews/when I find out more.

Update 1: I had my first interview with the first company today. It overall went really well, seems to match what I’m looking for in my next job, and even the interviewer said he would highly recommend me to the controller who’s going the hiring. (It’s for an accountant position, which I’ve been dreaming of getting into for years.)

@@kvcharles4425 Sadly the company ghosted me. I did a weekly follow up for the first 3 weeks, and repeatedly got told that “something else came up, and they haven’t had a chance to call for the second interview”. It’s been a month since the last time I called, and I never heard anything else. But I’m still looking!
Eat the job description and regurgitate! I love it! Thanks for your videos, they have been so helpful ♥
Erin, thank you so much. M response rate for interview requests has SOARED watching your videos.
You are really a GEM! you make something for me so confusing and tedious in a light, empowering exercise! really you are amazing! Thank you so much!
Great content. I am binging on it. Thank you for making it. Really helpful
Thank you so much. This was so helpful. Love your energy. I feel more confident now with your direction. Keep doing what you're doing❤️🌹
Subscribed! Thank you for sharing this. Smart with a great sense of humor.
I just found you on TikTok and I’m loving your content! ❤ My main struggle right now is putting together my “About Me”. I am currently in Law Enforcement wanting to get a medical/dental receptionist job. I have no medical or dental experience whatsoever. I will be going back to school this fall for a career in the medical field. So having no degree or direct experience is throwing me off on how to write my “About Me”. If you could give me advice on this that would be amazing and greatly appreciated ❤️ If not, is there a way I can pay to have you review my resume?😅
1:02 solid point about "too jargony" - too often the perception of sounding professional includes too much jargon - a problem for resumes and interview communication.
Thanks so much for these tips, highly appreciated! I've gone through so much with my CVs over the years, it's such a mess tbh hehe
Your videos make my day.
And yet again... So helpful. Thank you Erin!
Thank you for making this informative video! Would love to know if you have any tips on how to write a professional summary for someone who has had solid experiences in various job/career industries.
Hi Erin - I am new here and fell in love with your content. I am seeking to transfer to HR currently and this information was indeed helpful. I am currently updating my resume with the tips that you drop in this video. I will be back. Just like what Arnold said in that movie. lol side joke.
This was sooo helpful!
I'm about to apply your advice. I have been job hunting for over a year, and it has been tough.
I'm gonna try this out, and come back with an update.
Very nice presentation Erin❤️✨️
This is so, so helpful! I just copied your format and now my resume looks so professional 🥹
Could you give an example on a good professional summary for a stay at home mom that wants to get into a well paying job?
thanks, darling! you are good at what you do!
Love it! Thanks so much
Um I don't get the picture😂 I've never had a job except things like babysitting, dog sitting, or student volunteer work. What do I put for that second part of the equation😂😂
Tbh this is harder than I thought. Working in a cooperate job. Why can't we just be honest and just be straightforward. Like I can do this and this and this. And just submit the resume.
You're like Super Blondie for Career advice! 😂 Keep it up!❤

So helpful this video! In your opinion, would it be advisable to say 25 years of experience, or will I look old then?!
Hi Erin, I'm 50 and work in an allied health profession closely aligned with fitness. I strongly suspect that by claiming my 20+ years of experience I am dooming my resume to the "NO" pile. I'm aware that ageism is illegal ( in most professions) yet I believe that I have lost opportunities because of it. Any ideas for navigating this?
when writing a professional summary if I am trying to transition to a different career path should i include that?
What is the best way to professionally say that you really love learning and you can teach yourself and become an expert on any relevant skill very quickly?
Love you Erin
