That thing looks impressive man. And the last time you did a video about a battery powered pack with that Anker - I ended up buying the 400wr version. Love that little thing. But we just bought a home - we’re actually camping in it this weekend - before officially moving in - and Ive been thinking about getting a more high powered one for an emergency backup. This looks perfect.

Awesome review, awesome solar generator. EcoFlow Delta Max saved our butts after Hurricane Ian here in central Florida. It powered the fridge, lights, chargers and fans with ease. Was able to turbo recharge it with the neighbor's gas generator. No gas, no noise. Highly recommend it for emergencies!

Hi Frank, you answered my primary question right off! Can it be charged with an "off brand" (non-EcoFlow inverter generator)? Thank you. I was wondering, though, how long do you think it would run a typical 25 cubic foot side-by-side refrigerator/freezer? ... Maybe as that alone, or maybe with let lights and flat screen TV? Love the units' capabilities, but how long it can keep you powered up is equally important. BTW, wish I had this when Hurricane Ian ran right over us here in SWFL. Thanks again for your comment. Really helpful.

@@StillCrazyFL Hey Albert glad you survived Ian ok my friend. So the fully charged EF2000 powered just our standard fridge/freezer alone for 20+ hours straight! I did plug in a 55" tv alone which pulled 230 watts- estimated time til drainage around 9 hours. It's a powerful gennie and can definitely run multiple devices at once. It will drain fast however- fridge+tv+phones maybe 2-3 hours on a full charge. Recommend a 400w solar panel for faster charging. A 220w panel = 9-10 hours to fully charge the unit. Best of luck!

We just bought our rig a few weeks ago! Got the Ecoflow Delta Max 2000 with the extra battery and one solar panel. Initially, it will serve as an emergency home power backup, but I suspect we will start using it as a UPS for things like the refrigerator and other key appliances. We live in Rhode Island; our neighborhood is not prone to outages, but we can count on 1 or two during blizzard season. They average about 4 hours, but one blizzard a few years back knocked out power for several days. Keeping food cold is not the problem - no heat is! We have a couple sealed-oil heaters and electric blankets (and LOTS of extension cords) that this should cover for any duration.

Does the app allow you to determine when you want to charge it up? I’m thinking you could use this to power stuff at night and then recharge this during the day when the electricity is cheaper. I have a solar panel system on my house and would like to draw from the system when it’s the cheapest. But dang, $1900 is pretty pricey although this could be a good price for what it gives you. I have no idea. Thanks for the review!

That's a solid question Kevin and as I'm searching through the app, I don't see that as an option. You could turn the charging level down to 200w during the day and then back up to 1800 at night from the app. But there's no option to set a schedule or anything like that

Air Conditioning! I live full-time in a Roadtrek camper van with solar panels on the roof. I also do a lot of "Boondocking" (parking in remote areas and not campgrounds, to save money).I have the EcoFlow Wave air conditioner that I connect the EcoFlow Delta Max to. I did not buy the small battery that attaches to the EcoFlow Wave air conditioner because it will only run the air conditioner for 2 hours! That's not enough to get a good cool night sleep. So I purchased the EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 and the cable that connects the Max to the Wave so I can sleep comfortably all night, and recharge the Max with my Van's roof's solar panels or my Van's alternator (cigarette lighter plug) while I am driving! Free electricity and camping in beautiful BLM land while saving money. Can't ask for more!

Hi all, So....I have a hack that I literally just thought of for people who can't afford another Delta Pro or extra battery BUT need additional power and own another ecoflow battery. I have called ecoflow and given them the idea as well and they confirmed that it will in fact work!! I then asked them why they don't tell everyone after I've told them and they said they would "escalate the idea" to their top tier and perhaps add it to their FAQs. So here's the idea: We've been told that you must have like systems in order to use them together. This is NOT actually true. If your Delta Pro is low on power (or any other ecoflow system you have) you can simply plug its charging cable (in the rear) into the front of the secondary system. In other words you're using the second system as a wall outlet of sorts. This works especially well in the evening when the sun is down and there is no more backup energy. What do you do when the sun is up?...even better...plug the second system from the rear into the front of the Delta Pro. This allows the sun to charge them BOTH regardless of the differences of their capacities or sizes!!! The only word of caution they gave me after saying what a great idea this was, was to say don't forget to lower the charging speed on the Delta Pro once it's plugged into the front of the second system. Guys this means you can use anything from a River and up to charge your Delta Pro OR any other ecoflow system. If this works for you please like my comment and say "Thanks T!!" just so I'll know at least I was able to communicate something helpful to the solar community-especially since these systems are sooooo expensive!

  • @patpatpat999

You're putting it in a camper van and you didn't even discuss fan noise. Also, these use the older-inferior NCM (NiCad) battery chemistry (800 cycles to 80% capacity). Only the pro version uses the better LFP batteries (3,500+ Life Cycles to 80%). The only advantage I see to NCM batteries is that it probably allows X Watt hours in a slightly smaller package. Bluetti gives you LFP batteries at a much lower price point.

Compared to the regular Delta from ecoflow, it looks like a little bit overkill.

I think with most things, “overkill” is in the eyes of the beholder. What’s overkill for one person might be just right for another🤷‍♂️

Although they can act as a backup you are getting far less than you expect. The EcoFlow 2.0KW Delta Flow Max system takes 2.4KW to fully charge. Although the unit can handle higher loads than 2KW with its boost function - particular with low loads the 2.0Kw system will typically only give 1.2Kw - - ie you put in 2.4KW and only actually get 1.2KW output - a 50% loss. Thus if you wanted to use the battery so you can charge it up on Econ 7 rates and use it during the day - it is not an economical proposition. It is not being accurately advertised. Yes it might be able to power a 2KW load but only for a short period. Your car battery is sold as 100Ah - ie supply 100A for 1hr. Thus the EcoFlow system should be labelled as 1.2KWhr / 2.4Kw surge / 4.0Kw peak power. Thus in practice the EcoFlow is only giving half of the expected capacity!!.

Be very careful ordering from ecoflow. I made a purchase from ecoflow for what the ad said was a " delta max 2000 with 220w solar panel". The unit arrived without the solar panel. After contacting them they told me I had not ordered the solar panel. Wait...what? It said in the ad " deltamax 2000 with 220w solar panel black friday" and the picture even had the two items together. My email copy of my receipt even says deltamax 2000 with 220w solar panel. They sent me an email stating the solar panel would be an additional $1000. I've asked for a return label and they are not answering that request. Be very very careful if you choose to conduct business.

With these and newer batteries fast charging isn't going to hurt the battery anymore. What hurts these batteries is overcharge and excessively draining your battery and leaving it empty for longer periods of time is really going to take a very quick toll. Lucky these systems are setup to avoid overcharging and you can tell the power station also to say keep your system from going below 20% and recharging and charging it or in general using the battery a lot is going to be ample for a long lasting battery. Take care of your power station and it will very likely take care of you even when you need it in emergencies and you need to dam near drain the battery on a special occasion. I have a 16 Toyota Camry Hybrid Le. It is the older style lipo battery inside and the system in my hybrid avoids the hybrid battery from every being fully charged and never lets it get below 20%. I use my car all the time and a very good chance this hybrid battery could pull damn near 20 years or even over 1/2 a million miles.
