I started flux 3 days ago and I’m addicted. It’s going to be amazing to watch you play through it.

Honestly aDrive, it’s just great watching you play through these games again in general. Stoked for Elestrals and hoping to see an adventure game done of it one day, but it’s been great to have you back doing LP with Raging Ruby! Started watching your Xenoberse again, best commentary out there!

Hey Adrive, I remember you did a Daybreak nuzlocke awhile back and I think it would be really cool is you did a standard hard mode playthrough. The game was version 1.6 when you first played it and has since been updated to 1.7 and has experienced a lot of changed from new sprites, characters, and dueleons.

My personal recommendation in terms of fan games is always the legendary trio of reborn, rejuvenation and desolation. Each are their individual games by their own amazing creators and while reborn is the only one fully finished at the moment, all of them feature many hours of content and have amazing stories and a pretty hard difficulty

@@3NC3PH4L0N Im glad youre having fun :D I kinda wish I could forget about it and play it like the first time again. Just know its not really a trilogie, the games have their own stories in different regions.

I love Uranium, Insurgence, solar light lunar dark, xenoverse and daybreak are my favorites to date currently. Currently doing a shiny only playthrough of uranium ;D but i cant wait to try Infinite Fusion ❤️ Please do a part 2 😄

One last really great suggestion, Pokemon Azure. It’s only 3 gyms but gets updated frequently and has a lot to do. I spent 70 hours on the demo. Amazing custom regional forms, plenty of side quests and a really unique story. The intense difficulty it has, definitely lives up to its name. Worth playing for sure!

I think all of these Pokémon fan made games look fun and exciting to play! Especially since each one has it’s own story line, characters and Pokémons. The one I think I want to try is the Pokémon Fusion one because it looks fun to combine two Pokémon together and see how it turns out.

Would love to see Rom Hacks next, there's some really good ones like Blazing Emerald, AlteRed, GS Chronicles, BW3 Genesis, Crystal Clear, Soothing Silver. I could go on and on.

So fun to hear a few of your mentions of top fan games. Would like to hear more. I like Reborn as well, Pokemon Opalo or Opal for the English version is also good, i'm almost through it as well. Reborn i'm like nearing the half way point I think. It's long, but I like that about it! Also Radical Red had patches haven't played them but they're good. Looking forward to FluX as well. Might check out Daybreak and Outbound too, thanks for the tip. Tho Daybreak appeals more to me at this point bit will give them both a go. Haven't played Uranium nor Insurgence yet but they seem great as well! Like you said there are so many! PokéMMO is also fun.

I'm surprised Xenoverse wasn't included on the list considering it just ended----The Last DLC Update was released on 4/04/2023---after nearly 9 years the greatest Pokemon fan-game ever is done 😢I hope you'll consider finishing your play-through of this work of art.

@@matthewcordero ​Yeah, the DLCs undoubtedly make Xenoverse the best Pokemon game ever, even over all the official titles, at least in terms of post-game, there's soooo many hours of content, each 'DLC pass' more impressive and different than the last----I highly recommend trying them!

Was a fan of Xenoversw til the Creator showed his true colors. Plus the DLC 4 pass had a glitch that had me stuck in the Elite Four mountain cave and been there ever since. Never was able to do the rest of the DLC pass. And never bothered to create a patch for it or nothing. I been stopped playing it and stopped supporting the creator

Infinite Fusion has taken so many hours of my life. I just can't stop with it 😂

I am currently really enjoying pokemon Unbound. Unique story and region with a rather extensive pokedex. Plenty of funny dialogue moments and interesting characters as well as a built in way to tailor your game including level cap and item limiting. I've put about 30 hours into it so far and am about to get my 8th badge.

friendly reminder that unbound is a gba rom hack , not to be confused with pokemon fan games that adrive is showcasing here. “fan games” are mostly rpg maker like games played on the pc. yes you can play them in other ways but not easily done

Honorable mention: Pokemon Xenoverse, which just received its last major update this month.

Go play Pokémon reborn, the addition of field effects with how much they add to a battle and carefully selected Pokémon available to you make this game one of the most satisfying challenges to over come

The Spanish community has also been putting out crazy high tier games. There’s Pokémon Jazmin, Pokémon Africanvus, Pokémon Bizzare and Pokémon Armonia. Only downside is they are Spanish only atm, but they might get English translations or you can at least play them with translators. Which is worth it.

I know Pokemon Añil and Pokemon Opalo. Opalo is an original created by Eric Lostie. Great graphics, original story, western look. I've been playing for 10h so far after Pokemon Añil which is a remake of Kanto with the option to play from 1-9 gen and different difficult moves. Great game. @@suppow6488

Pokemon infinity definitely my favorite fan game to play

Once flux is fully out you haveee to do a shiny only run with it. With overworld encouters, overworld shiny sprites, sparkles, and shiny spawn sounds like legends its a lot of fun to hunt in!

Pokémon Infinity is a fan game I played recently . Such a beautiful game and story. They have a bunch of New forms to existing Pokémon and new fakemon.

I’ve been playing flux trying to get a shiny starter. I have gotten the boss Pokémon at the start to appear shiny 3 different times but not the starter yet. Still would love to see it covered. I’m gonna get that starter eventually!

My favourite fangame is Pokemon Reborn... The story, The Detailed sidequest, the difficulity makes you use every pokemon including the likes of wormadam. 150+ hours of gameplay with vast postgame quests.. And its now completed. It is very very very hard game to nuzlocke.. This game is the best of the fangames out there.. You should try it in future..

@@EgzyD *stares at Empyrean's Edge of Eternity mod* *stares at my current playtime* ....275 hours. I'm like maybe 30-40% through EoE, at best. And haven't even touched the 2 longest parts of the game, one of which literally takes like 10 hours minimum. Sure, a large amount of that was base-game Empyrean. but like............ Empyrean itself is already kind of close to Reborn content/difficulty-wise. While it's only an "8" gym game, like close to half of it's content is completely separate from the towns that have gyms. EoE though? EoE is like... "Hey, here's a questline. Despite only being 3 dungeons long, it'll probably take you as long to finish as it took you to do the first 6 gyms of the game. And that's if you don't spend 4+ hours solving each puzzle. And you have a team that can actually beat the bosses. Which literally cheat. (as-in, 2 full meta legendary-tier teams in a row without healing or item use, a 1v6, losing 90% of the health of every pokemon on your team at the start of battle, etc.)" ...and good [redacted] luck getting any help with figuring out literally anything, even where to go, because it literally doesn't exist publicly as the entire community refuses to ever tell anyone anything because that would ruin the fun.

I think you'd really enjoy playing Pokemon Empyrean if you'd be willing to check it out at some point or even play it on the channel, would definitely be something worth playing

for a bit of a change I've been playing Energized Emerald which might not seem like much on the surface but one new feature is that all Pokémon can now have 3 abilities at once, been pretty fun so far.

I couldn't remember the name of Pokemon Daybreak! I loved that fangame. I need to check it out again.

Pokémon Reborn and Rejuvenation never seem to make these lists but are the best fan-made games I’ve ever played. Rejuvenation is a good balance between story and battles while Reborn is more battle oriented. They both have field effects, custom shinies, and 18 gyms. Reborn and is completely done I have logged well over 100+ hours of gameplay in each.

Im kinda late, and not sure if these 2 were posted, Pokemon Insurgence and This gym of mine are really good. Pokemon Insurgence is a bit darker than most (they have cults instead of teams) and have Delta variants, along with new mega evolutions. In This Gym Of Mine, You're the gym leader. You pick between all the types, get your starter pokemon depending on the type you picked (Dragon has Axew, Gible and Bagon) Its your job to rebuild the town and protect it from the gang

I got some ideas for more Pokemon fan games. 1: Pokemon war on Rainbow Rocket: All I can say that this would bring the Rainbow Rocket thing to a far better story. You play a descendant of a refuge from Rainbow Rocket's rampage. After you receive your first Pokemon, you hear that Rainbow Rocket is starting to attack your world. 2: Pokemon Hoen Fortress: It's like Team Fortress 2, but it's more like Team Aqua and Team Magma fighting Team Fortress style. 3: Pokemon Revenge: The story is that the villain from Pokemon 2000 seeks his revenge by taking control of the giant Dragonite (from Bills Lighthouse). Some other move exclusive villains also join in on the plot. Ash reunited with his companions, from Misty to Cloey to stop this. You play as either Max or Bonnie as you help Ash and friends.

Pokemon reborn is still the best fan game i ever played i don't think anyone would tops that.

Are there any fan games that have the sprites of gen4/5 and include being able to travel between regions like Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh/Unova? Basically a game with those 5 regions and all the pokemon up to gen 5? (could include gen 6 and higher-but excluding all fan made mons)

What this doesn't tell you about Pokemon Infinite fusion though is that it's super hard on your computer given how many fusions there are, and there's a chance of your computer slowing down as you play the game

Get... get something that's not a potato. I've content completed it (obviously not pokedex completion since, y'know, nobody got time for that.) and like.. legit never saw any form of performance issue ever. My PC's like 5 years old.

Pokemon Reloaded might be the best one, it has real time battles and it's a pretty long game. It's not very well know in the English speaking community (despite having an English translation)

You forgot pokemon ash grey where you can travel from kanto to the orange islands kinda like pokemon soulsilver and heartgold where you can travel to 2 regions.

So, a mix of newer and older games, from someone very heavily into the whole fangame and modding aspects of gaming, and especially pokemon. Starting with my overall all-time favorite... Pokemon Empyrean, and especially it's content mod Edge of Eternity - Which I'm currently actually playing through it's 2.0 version of. Empyrean goes WAY unnoticed and is WAY underrated - TMK, Voltsy's playthrough is still almost exclusively the only big-named full playthrough of the completed version, and there might actually be zero playthroughs of EoE on YT. Empyrean is... immense. And difficult. And ambitious. And Edge of Eternity dials all of that up from like 10 to 15. So, Empyrean has: Regional forms... from multiple new regions, which includes multiple regional forms of the same pokemon, such as Lucario, which gets a new form from both Omuran (the main region of the game) and Deshret (the secondary region that's the focus of the final chapter), custom shiny sprites for MOST pokemon available, a new tier of shiny called Platinums, shiny stat boosts, a new breeding mechanic that leads to higher stats, collectible cards that you equip to your pokemon that grant higher stats, not one, not 2, but THREE new types, each of which are REALLY interesting and well designed - Light, Data and Gold. Light is basically what everyone wanted fairy to be - it works very similarly to it, but with a few differences, and includes it's own status effect, blind, which functions similar to flinch or how you'd imagine a stun effect to work. Lasts 1-2 turns, preventing ANY move from being used until it wears off. Data type is... complicated. It has probably the most immunities and weaknesses of any type, and has multiple custom interactions, such as always being frozen if hit by an ice type move or gaining a special attack increase when hit by an electric type move, or having it's secondary typing changed to dark when hit by a dark type move. Gold... it's basically steel but better, but it has a reason to be that way - It's exceedingly rare and mostly found on extremely special pokemon, such as gold type evolutions, which require max IVs and max friendship, and.... fusions. Speaking of which, Empyrean includes Fusions. They work similarly to megas, but you instantly lose if they get KOd. In exchange, they have utterly bonkers stats. Other features are: By far the longest fan game I've ever played when you include EoE, my current playthrough is at 270 hours and while I'm "done" with base Empyrean, I'm maybe only like 20-30% through EoE's content... and have been doing EoE content exclusively for like 50+ hours now... yeah...., a really interesting storyline, jojo references, an absolutely insanely difficult postgame, custom boss fights that have like "boss health bars" and are potentially strong enough to pose a threat to a full team, crazy difficult postgame puzzles, EoE's brutal puzzles that'll literally make you go back to school to figure out how to solve them, playable minigames that aren't JUST the ones copy-pasted from the official games (+ all of those too), the single strongest pokemon of all time (not even kidding, the thing gets over 10k in every stat. You're not actually intended to use it, but it's there.) There's many other smaller features here and there, seriously, I can't praise Empyrean enough. --------------------- Insurgence - The game I'm legitimately confused by why it's not on this list if Uranium is. Insurgence is basically "What if Gamefreak was actually good at developing games?" - It's practically everything one could ask for from a pokemon game that still 100% feels like an official pokemon game. It's got new regional forms based off of TCG lore, it's got a new weather effect, it's got new megas, it's got the sickest charizard ever that's not from infinite fusion, it's got a great story, it's got some of the best shinies of all time *cough*delta glalie*cough*, it's got unique HMs that lead to unique puzzles, it's got sick as heck legendary puzzle sidequests that aren't brutally challenging like EoE's but not a cakewalk either, it's got pokken versions of pokemon, it's just overall great. It's nowhere near as ambitious as Empyrean is, but it's got QUALITY. It's probably the single best put together fangame I've ever played. And it's got the best hard mode I've ever played in probably any game ever. --------------- Reborn - The OTHER game I'm legitimately confused by what it's not on this list. Reborn (and to an extent rejuvenation and desolation) is an utterly amazingly well-designed game. It's massive (16 badge game), it's got difficulty that'll make you want to use stuff you normally don't use. It's got a great story. It's amazingly well designed. The only thing it doesn't "really" have is custom pokemon - Reborn really is pretty much "a fangame". What if you took the existing pokemon formula and, well, pokemon... and just made an amazing 11/10 game with it all? That's Reborn for you. Aside from people that get turned away by it's difficulty, I don't think I've ever seen anyone that's played it not enjoy it. ---------------------- Xenoverse. I may have some minor personal issues with the dev team and their decisions and behavior, but that doesn't prevent me from personally massively recommending anyone and everyone from playing through this game. It has a freaking anime opening movie. I'm not kidding. It literally does. Team Dimension has one of the best battle themes I've ever heard. I literally listen to it on an almost daily basis. Xenoverse is not like other fangames. It's a high tier, high quality production with genuine effort and a genuine budget (or at least it seems to have had a genuine budget, considering the quality of everything.). It's got those same uranium-esque battle graphics. It's got what feels like a completely handpainted tileset and character designs. It's got character portraits during conversations. It's got a huge array of fakemon similar to Uranium. It's got an extensive postgame. It's got a new type. It has new regional (dimensional?) variants of existing pokemon, many of which you encounter as boss fights. Boss fights have their own opening art panels that are INSANELY GOOD, and boss fights have multiple HP bars. Despite being boss fights, the majority of them are catchable. Which is a notable difference from other fangames that include boss fights, like Empyrean, where you can't catch the bosses. Your starters have a completely unique multi-form power up method rather than evolution. This game is overall amazing, however... It doesn't feature the significantly increased difficulty found in other fangames - No insurgence-tier difficulty mode options, no insanely brutal EoE-like postgame, it overall feels like just an ever so slightly harder main series game. X pokemon (the "regional/dimensional" variants) suffer from some serious design flaws, or at least did last time I played through the game, such as some only existing as 1% encounter rates and not being able to breed them, thus having to save reset or grind for multiple 1% encounters quite often if you really want to use certain ones without them having horrendous IVs or natures. General lack of fangame and even mainline QoL changes/features, such as easy IV and Nature adjustments. IIRC, it's also lacking a speed up option, though I could be misremembering that. The reason I note all of these is... as far as I'm aware, and from things the devs have said, is... it's pretty much all intentional. And I'm just not a big fan of fangames, mods, etc. just being designed to be less user friendly intentionally - especially when it's stuff that doesn't really do anything to add difficulty, just tedium and annoyance and bloat playtime. With that said, it's still by far one of the best fangames out there. By far. It's great. ------------ Void. So, Void is different. It's a quick, nice, one-off. There's not really a post-game, there's not really much reason to like.. keep playing after the final boss. but it's a really nice, fun playthrough, that has many, MANY unique aspects to it that make it generally fun. It's very reminiscent of good ol' Uranium, which is also very similar in the fact it really is mostly just a 1 and done experience. I 100%ed void. I legitimately considered going for a living shiny dex, too, because Void's shiny rate is uh... higher than the dev intended it to be and to my knowledge is never getting fixed. It's supposed to be like 1/100 or something like that, but seriously, I'd go through routes and get like 8 shinies. I had a shiny of everything on my team that I liked the shiny sprite of. Void's VERY similar to Uranium, though, feature-wise. It's even got the weird variants of pokemon that have a weird glowing border around their sprite like uranium's nuclear pokemon do. Just go in expecting a nice fun romp. It's a fun experience, with fun lore and story and legendaries and a few things that might stump you here and there. It's got tons of custom fakemon, it's got fun custom megas, it's a great experience overall. And similarly to Empyrean, isn't one I see mentioned all that often. ----- So, yeah, that's my like main list of recommendations that weren't already covered by the video. There's plenty more, and quite a few... very unique ones (super eevee edition, anyone?) but they're either too far off (super eevee edition) or I just don't have enough experience with them, or they weren't really all that standoutish, for me to really recommend them. Even Void was kind of cutting it close to what I'd genuinely recommend, but again, I almost never see it mentioned anywhere, and it's a full 100% complete game so you can go into it and just 100% it and move on, enjoying the experience and not sitting there like "wtf uranium dev team it's been 5 years where the f is that postgame update you keep saying you're working on so I can 100% my uranium save huh!?!?"

Pokemon Reborn is by far the best fan game I've ever played and it's not even remotely close. Every feature you can ask, 18 gyms, the best story I've ever played with tons of characters that all have specific, interesting, and amazing personalities. I've never understood characters better in any video game ever, and this is a FAN GAME. If you haven't played it, I URGE you to give it a try.

Sad that you never see Pokémon Rejuvination make it onto these kind of lists. It’s probably too long to LP on a channel, but still an incredible fan made game

You know I got an idea of a plausible fan story of Ash Ketchum based on Pokemon Uranium. Ash was sent to this region to join a mission called Project Soap, mission: to study and deal with the current insurgence of nuclear Pokemon. Cement was with him due to the fact that a mentor was at the power plant... during the explosion. The Collector (the villain from Pokemon 2000) seeks to save the world from nuclear Pokemon with a doomsday weapon that would.... delete the entire region.

What’s some good recommendations for a fakemon game specifically

As someone completely new to pokemon fan games. What are some other recommendations? Xenoverse looks good. Need others tho. And I'm not up to date on the main games. Last one I really played was black 2. I'm unfamiliar with mega evolutions and all that stuff. Also a bigger fan of the gen 1-3 system of battling with type of attacks dictating physical or special. But also like the newer system too. Idk if theres any fan games that use the older system
