Junebug run with DK was one of the best things that happened to melee last year. So happy to see his future tournaments because I believe he can get even better!

LOVE this idea. NGL a sportscenter style top 10 after majors, building up into a video like this every year, would be sick. Hate the #1 choice though. So many more deserving clips of things that are actually impressive (even just from Moky) than random BM.

A play sorta has to be contained to some continuous sequence....it can't be spaced out over multiple stocks which basically reset any sequence and toss in invulnerability no less.

idk if it counts but moky vs aklo at arcamelee 4 where moky got 4 stocked twice in a row by aklo and STILL manages to win the set is one of my year highlights

​@@galor6837those shine spikes are easy to do. It was still hype and unexpected, but "best plays" often implies impressive plays, like Cody's recovery vs hbox or Mango's crazy combos

The fact that I’ve seen all of these matches when in early 2023 I had never played smash is a testament to how much you contributed to my love of smash

Maybe the title just should have been most interesting or most storylined or talked about plays? Clearly best has another connotation

I like the list though I wouldn't agree placement wise. I know it would be a lot but having you do one of these post tournament for the highlights of it would be sick. Like I know some tournaments will clip all the highlight plays and roll them after but having it pan to you doing a quick read out of each one and breaking it down on the spot would be a sick idea.

There are like 3 top 20 players that carry the weight for hype. Mango, Moky, Magi I just realized the M names. Mango, Moky, Magi make melee, melee. Dont get me wrong every top 20 player can have hype moments but these 3 make it worth watching their sets. Outside of the top 20 we have the falcons, I guess BBB sort of(?) (is he banned?) MOF, Junebug, Axe, and aklo when he goes link. Falco is just a hype character though even though I would argue and say his dair is the lamest most broken aerial in the game. Also the fact moky vs Mang0 Winners Semis at Big House 11 wasn't even in honorable mentions is a disgrace. That final 0-death damn near brought me to tears, it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

This is a good list to people who dont play melee

I dont agree with number 1 or 8-10 but still a really good video. Mokys combo and neutral.pressure beforehand was sick but the shining the up B multiple times felt kinda trivial. It was hype in the moment but it wasnt that deep of an interaction. Not hating on Moky because hes dope but he just BM shined repeatedly and it was only made possible because Kodorin decided to go with it and kept recovering. I like strategic plays more for the top plays but still a dope video

Tbh Moky’s combo against Kodorin was just a demonstration of unnecessary silliness/ taunting. Fun sequence, but it wasn’t crucial for the overall game/ set and didn’t require much creativity at all. VERY strange choice for #1 spot

Low/mid tiers are defined by how good they are against fast fallers. Whatever metric you choose, designing a tournament in which a Ness - Mewtwo spamming stray DJC aerial's at each other is about as fun as watching me play in Bronze.

@@treycuret I see what you're saying, but I don't see that as entirely true. I think whatever it takes to get more playtime on these lower tier characters will eventually lead to new discoveries. Why purposely choose lower tier when there are higher tier available? Maybe instead of just forcing low tier usage, perhaps an iron-man type ruleset could come into play in a special tournament where players must use one high tier of their choice, one mid, and one low

Kept watching to give it a second chance but left a dislike and stopped again after you said “magi effectively retired a pro with this zero to death” When the set was 2-2 and she was on basically last stock to win it… Just such a weird thing to say about another pro whose retiring in the scene for their own reasons Almost like the entire video you’re trying to keep people engaged with your commentary instead of the actual gameplay
