昔、富士市で夜道に迷った。富士山の雪を被った山頂が怪物のクラゲのように空に浮かんで見えてこころぼそかった。ポツンとジャズのレコード店が富士のふもとにありました。その店のあるじが親切に旅館までの道を教えて下さった。お礼にサラボ－ンの ”Make This City Ours Tonight“をゲットしましした。あの富士のクラゲの怪物が夜空を舞うようなピッタリの名曲でした。

Only just discovered Mrs. Vaughan. What a voice, she sings as if she's singing for herself. Heaven on earth.

To me me Sarah Lois Vaughan was the the greatest female singer of them all. (Ella Fitzgerald agreed.) I am proud to say I share my birthday with Sassy. R.I.P, The Divine one. We truly miss you

I would argue that Amy Winehouse would challenge that comment. But she was an enigma. Such a shame she passed. Let's hope she influenced enough of the next generation so we can have some more great future artists.

Mass media creates that sensation for commercial interests and for political interests (culturally and, therefore, mentally impoverish). But there are a lot of great singers and composers still that you may discover digging in internet. Not an easy work, but still there are, and a lot.

My Dad introduced me to Sarah when I was 9 he said Ella has a wonderful voice but Sarah is even better and I've never had reason to doubt him, Taylor Swift is the modern😅 version 😅😅

Sarah was a lady that even the late great SKA/ BOB MARLEY apprecilove as did quite a few of us as singers back when we were all youths learning our trade as they used to say back in the day. GREAT IS GREAT LET NO 1 UNDERATE. BLRSS UP

haydn moore, you’re absolutely correct, Sarah & Dinah Washington were, in my opinion in a different league to Ella & all the others that everyone seem to glorify. Sarah had the most incredible vibrato .
