The BEST of NASCAR at Le Mans! Pure Sound & Highlights | Garage56 Camaro ZL1 V8 Stock Car

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Dedicated to a car that certainly lived up to the hype, yet also divided opinion a lot more than I expected. People either loved or hated the freedom machine! Ran under the Garage56 Invitational Class, celebrating 75 years of NASCAR, driven by arguably the strongest lineup at the 24 hours of Le Mans this year with 2009 F1 champ Jenson Button, 7 time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and former winner of Le Mans , Nurburgring and Spa 24 hour races Mike Rockenfeller, ran by the 16 time NASCAR champions Hendrick Motorsports and containing a V8 likely putting out somewhere in the region of 800bhp, this was always going to be a treat to watch. It spent most of the week comfortably ahead of the GTE class cars, even blasting past a number of LMP2's that found themselves in its way when a straight came along! Sadly a late gearbox rebuild meant it fell down the order, but it still finished and made it past the localised monsoons that fell mid race wiping a number of the field out, yet the car that normally doesn't run in the rain at all, kept on the road. Personally my only disappointment with it is that we'll never see it used again, and it's likely to be the closest we're seeing to a Cup race in Europe for at least a decade if not more. NASCAR, get on it!

For those wondering why a NASCAR cup car is in the Le Mans, this is because it's NASCAR's 75th anniversary, which coincides with 24 Hours of Le Mans' 100th anniversary. This car isn't really competing with the other cars because it's under the Garage 56 entry. This entry is essentially a class of its own intended to showcase the latest in automotive technology, thus they aren't bound to the same restrictions as in the case of other cars, save for the safety requirements. In this car's case, NASCAR is testing the potential technologies that could become the future standard in their cars

I guess you do not read ? Look that car was free to be running with the others ,because it was invited and a coincidence of the commemoration of Nascar and Le Man's ! So in order to be presentable on speed ,suspension , brakes , overall performance , Hendricks put the best team to build the Camaro and the best to drive it 24 hours ! Again garage 56 is not a team garage , is a distinguished guest only ! If that car has to be homologated in a category it will not have such enormous horsepower ,or may have to be at the minimum weight compliance ,no lighter ! Yes we did enjoyed seen racing 24 hours , people world wide was surprised ,because it was little amount of media coverage , then after the car was presented and running ,the roar characteristic of V8 Nascar Ponies ,it did a sensación all over ! The Germans didn't like it because there were Porsches, Mercedes, Audi, BMW , that for every manufacturer Le Man's is a display of their products , for France almost the same , but Peugeot didn''t show he's potential , but that is racing , I give Hendricks ,he's team totally 💯 applause and credibility ,when a team wants to be seriously represent,a brand, a company , a country ! Well done ,let's not forget there is a Corvette racing that series all year , so GM is not sleeping !

As an American, who stopped watching NASCAR about 20 years ago, this is what NASCAR needs to adopt to survive. At minimum, 50% of their races in the US need to be road courses and they need to have a couple one-off "team" endurance style races (e.g., 12 hours of Daytona NASCAR on road course, etc). Then I'll return to NASCAR.

I'm in no way a NASCAR fan, but I loved watching that Camaro blow by P2 cars on the straights, great example of running unrestricted engines and no BOP to handcuff the cars. Great team and driver lineup, the car would've finished much higher if not for the brake change and transmission change late in the race. And the crew won the Pit Crew competition with a FLOOR JACK, not air jacks like everyone else. I say put some better quick change brakes like the GTE Corvette C8R uses, fix the transmission issue, get Jimmie, Jenson and Rocky back and give it another go next year. Congrats to the team and drivers for a job well done, they made it to the finish and gained a lot of respect and a lot of fans, great job!!

The Glen as of recent is popular because it’s fast, yet technical enough to be challenging & it flows from corner to corner as does Road America. Keep the bread-and-butter of it for the speedways but have a division that races endurance, standard road races, hill climbs, maybe some form of rally.
