Of all the main characters Michael is the only one whose family we never get to meet. That seems telling. I think that's why he had this bond with Erin. He probably saw a lot of himself in her, the need to people please, the desire to have fun but the awkwardness that surrounds it... indicative of people who were not given good emotional examples from emotionally present parents. Essentially they are both orphans. Michael gets to be the parent he never had and Erin is totally open to receive it ....both of thier biggest heart's desires.

The seconds it took but then he remembered she’s an orphan and he goes on to “play daddy role” is an epic change in his character I loved 🥰 it so much . Was very touching
This is great how Michael is like a father to Erin and he knows it! Her friendship with Darryl is also amazing and we should definitely have a compilation of Erin and Darryl’s friendship
When Michael tells Erin, "I'm not your father," and both of them are reduced to awkward silence, Michael probably thought, "Oh my God, that's how she sees me." And that's when he officially started acting like a father. His way of doing it: that beautiful fake father/daughter argument.
Erin is a bundle of joy. Love her character
1:26 my heart 😭
That silence after Michael says "I'm not your dad" is kinda sad. Erin feels heartbroken and Michael realizes he's a father figure for one of his employees. Him playing along with it afterwards is great
Michael and Erin have one of the purest and funniest laughs, it feels unprofessional but very confortable.... good acting indeed 👏 👌🏿
Michael: 'I don't know what the f*ck that was.' 😂 9:47
Wholesome smile-inducing story time! A friend of mine uses the "bossa nova" tune (someone actually made a ten hour loop video of it) to calm her toddler. Works like a charm. Granted, her daughter is super chill for a toddler in the first place, but still, it's their #1 tantrum-defusing technique. Recently on a road trip, she understandably started getting fussy from being stuck in her car seat for so long, so my friend just blasted this at high volume for a good while. That cute lil nugget just sat there quietly "dancing" (aka those little rhythmic bouncy light kicks that happy toddlers do) and just totally vibing. Her dad did the little Michael dance and the Erin finger wag for her, which she found absolutely HILARIOUS and immediately began mimicking. The finger wag is her thing now 😂 He'd already also taught her the Michael line _"how about a little bossa nova?"_ which is how she's been requesting it ever since. She goes "how bout a yitto bossa noba?" and it's absolutely adorable. This is her "Baby Shark" (my friend is SO happy and fortunate to have dodged the grating torment of having THAT on repeat. Listening to ten _hours_ of keyboard bossa nova is FAR more bearable than being subjected to ten _minutes_ of "Baby Shark.") Her dad managed to catch these golden road trip moments on video, which he so graciously shared in a friends & family group chat. However, they (rightfully and responsibly) choose not to post their child on the internet for privacy reasons, so I cannot provide the video footage. You'll just have to do with my description.
2:00 Erin is just perfect for The Office lol
The whole scene after Micheal doesn't see a ring on Holly's finger is one of the funniest moments of the show. As crazy as Michael is, the fact that Erin joins him in the celebration and in fact gets even more excited has me laughing hysterically, even after watching the show for like 20 times already. Ellie Kemper as Erin is one of the best things to happen to this show. Loved her screen presence and performance. ❤❤
Ellie Kemper was such an incredible addition to the cast, so glad they did because Erin was probably my favorite character by the end of the series!
Michael really found the daughter/receptionist that he's been lookin for in Erin. Pam was special, but always treated as sister and voice reason,. Erin was Michael's fun side turned human.
Michael - Scissor me! Erin - 🤩 Pam - 😮
erin and michael have such an interesting relationship that i dont think i’ve seen on any other show. it just feels so natural.
I always loved the moments and scenes they shared together
In season 6 episode 15, where the office gets a package from Sabre, Michael and Erin sing this line: “I’ve got a big box, yes I do, I got a big box how about you?”. In addition, Erin happily throws the scissors to Michael and he grabs it like a boss while Pam was left with a face of shock.

Scissor -me! A classic
The cutest relationship.
Seeing Michael completely analyze the situation after he realizes Erin does in fact look at him as her father, or at least the closest thing she has to a father. It becomes so sweet how overly protective he becomes over her from there on, because Michael realizes his role in her life now, and he commits to it. I don’t know if that was the show runners and writers intentions, but that’s definitely what I grabbed out of Steve Carrell and Ellie Kempers performances.
“Don’t you raise your voice at me young lady!” “I’ll raise it all I want…I’ll raise the roof!” These two are the best!
4:38 someone check on gabes family
That's so cute. Michael always wanted to see his employees as his kids and erin looked at him like a father
these are the moments when Michael finally starts channeling that Gru energy
Michael was more of dad then her actual dad I loved their relationship.
I love how Erin is happy for Michael in both cases whether or not Holly is engaged.
she was the only one that matched michael’s energy and i always loved that about these two. thank u for this compilation ☹️🫶
Michael and Erin Most wholesome father-daughter relationship 😭❤️
5:35 is hands down my most wholesome scene in the show. the little awkward dance is everything!
Probably my favorite Michael moment ever it's what he told Gabe that he would kill him if he hurt Erin. That's literally the definition of a father
that moment of silence has so many emotions. it breaks my heart. a dad can feel this emotion.
Michael, whose dreams of love, and being a father were put off, so long, and Erin, whose childhood as an orphan create the perfect storm, for the most wholesome, and heartwarming relationship in Office History.
3:47 is one of michaels best moments for aure
One of the best duos in my book. It's missing that amazing dinner scene on Secretary's Day! "Did you have a favorite age? Or month?"
I NEED an Erin in my life.
