He’s a total sweetheart. My friend ran into him when he was at San Diego Comic-Con a decade ago. He was at a restaurant getting food and she recognized him and waited until he was done eating and heading out to say hi. She said he was SO LOVELY and his face lit up when she said she was a huge Doctor Who fan and how he was her Doctor. They talked for a few minutes about the show and how much they both loved it. She asked for a picture with him and he was more than happy to do so, and he’s smiling so big and bright in the photo, hugging my friend. She talks about it all the time, how kind he was and how he hugged her when she said “I saw you but I didn’t want to interrupt your meal so I waited!” He could’ve just snapped the photos and left, but he really made her feel special and he was truly appreciative of her support.

Respect to your friend as well for coming up to him after his meal instead of disturbing. Think people forget celebs are human then act surprised when they have emotions and strangers aren't entitled to their time. Must be printed all over their house, David's a babe

Can confirm. My parents met him backstage during a tour of the RSC Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon where he was demonstrating the many ways you can act a scene from Shakespeare. They were so smitten that they considered him the adopted son they never had.

He talked about theater and audio books instead. When asked about Doctor Who he referenced the strike. He did talk about Staged, which was not a prohibited topic.

I hope that snowman sweater was worn on a dare and I hope he made some money for wearing it because the internet is forever.
