For nonelectrified routes up here, these things are much much better than the Pacers they have replaced

The difference between these new DMUs and the older 80s era Sprinters and Pacers is night and day. I only wish we had trains like these in service in the North years ago!

It would have been far better if Northern got Stadlers like GA instead. All the mod cons of modern units but with comfortable seats, bi mode capability and (by modern standards) interesting engine noise

Well at least it accelerates more better than a Pacer and it clearly does have an upgrade from that. Sadly it is a downgrade from a 319. The 195 is alot better than the 197 on Transport for Wales in my opinion though
This is one of my favorite Trains and I like it how u go in order for example Class 1 to the class 1000 in order Great video

Perhaps only part of it was electrified and part of it wasn't

Because they will go on the branch lines that aren’t electrified like the mainline

Glad the 142's are gone. They were terrible. The 195's are an upgrade from a Pacer But downgrade from a 319 sadly. Top speed is much better than a Pacer (100 mph). They do not brake that loud than a Pacer. And they are alot better than a Pacer all in one. But not as good as a 319 unfortunately.
