This encapsulates perfectly the pretentious nonsense of the typical arts presenter and critic.

Saw this sketch on TV today on Benny Hill compilation show. They edited out the bit in the intro where McGee says Le Poof.

As somebody commented if this sketch was done by Monty Python it would be considered a classic.

It’s not a classic sketch??

@@rmas32 It is to Benny Hill lovers but to others Benny Hill is just a smutty sexist unfunny comedian. I saw a programme recently about British comedy greats. There was no mention of Benny Hill but plenty of praise for the likes of Monty Python and The Two Ronnies. Many of the Two Ronnies sketches are not that different from Benny Hill. In terms of wordplay and sexual innuendo.

@@Raider577 Unfortunately like most things in our world, people judge on what they’ve heard instead of what they see. I’m sure the majority of his critics have never sat and watched a single episode of Benny Hill. Sometimes I’ll still take out my Benny Hill DVD’s and watch. 😊

This sketch always reminded me of HS English where they seriously overanalyzed a book or movie. 😂

I like how Henry mentioned 4, but only named 3 movies. 😂 Unless “N’est Touchez Pas” and “Le Poof” are 2 different movies, which I expect from Benny’s funny mind.
