As a Bulldogs supporter I always love watching Ben Barba highlights but it always has a touch of sadness attached! I remember when he played in the Reserve Grade grand final and stripped the ball off his opponent late in the game and raced away 30 meters to score under the posts. I turned and looked at the wife and said to her "this man is a freak - he will help the Bulldogs win a premiership one day!" He helped Cronulla instead!

He surly made my childhood very exciting. Every weekend I sit in front of the teli just to see him produce some magical plays. And surely I wasn't disappointed. To u my childhood hero well done mate. Even though the off field circumstances dampen ur NRL carrier. Big fan from PNG🇵🇬🔵⚪Up the Doggies.

Brings tear to the eyes. Everyone deserves a chance, some of us don't, but those highlights deserve every accolade they get. A true talent that could have been immortality

As an eels fan I hated Ben barba... but man.... he was the only player I was scared of. He even gave Hayne a run for his money.. a little tear for Ben barba, cheers bro

You guys aren't too far from the truth here! This guy was so good that HE ALONE, if added to the current 2022 team could lift the Bulldogs from the bottom 4 to a top 4 team! He was that good. Don't lose faith with the Bulldogs. Since 2012 when the Bulldogs were Minor Premiers the best finish they've had is 5th in 2015 (where they won 1 semi final game and then lost the next one). This team is hungry for success! If they can keep Matt Burton for the next 5 or 6 years & then with Gus Gould in charge the best years are just around the corner!

Not to many bulldog players excited me over the years,but this bloke was special.

What a Legend, I’m a Bulldogs fan and what he could do was unbelievable. What a waste it came to such an abrupt end. He could do anything. If i think of someone who could turn the course of a game like Barba it was Billy Slater. Both so exciting to watch and had the afterburners in when they took off.

If Ben was smart he would be right here with the dogs

Ben comes from a very talented rugby league family his older brother Aaron was unbelievable hope Ben gets back on field soon

So sad to see what happened to him and his career. That 2012 season is something I’ve never seen anyone come close to replicating in any sport ever. Basketball, football, rugby, NFL, baseball, cricket, not one person has produced at that high of a level. Every single time he touched the ball u thought he was going to produce something magical. He is rugby league version of Maradona . Ben Barba as everything ,fantastic talent on the field.Sadly let down by his off field behaviour. Very few players can make you jump out your seat . As a St. Helens RL fan he did it numerous times...

What happened barba! You had such a fantastic future.. damn shame that there were a few poor decisions made.. but even as a dogs fan, i hope your future is bright with the cowboys mate! You play hard and fast with alot of finesse and agility. All the best for 2019

It's a shame that he was a flog off the field. One of the brightest talents to ever grace the game. He gave me moments of joy like few other players ever have. But because of his domestic violence history he was rightly removed from professional rugby league.

These talented players just cant keep it together off field.Its a constant problem with the Rugby league demographic.Rugby leagues is a brilliant game but its just touching the sides of the emotional costs it has of its often poor low socio economic player base.A real ground roots game.The NRL should try harder to learn these young men how to be humble winners and role models to thier communitys.regardless of talent if they arent willing to abide by these rules then the NRL must take a strong stance and let them go.The start to 2019 has been a nightmare for this game.Theres some bad blood in this game at the moment and it needs to get rid of the thorns in its arse. I want australia to love this game but with a culture of soft cock dads and mums and kids who cant get off their computers this game will quickly be sidestepped for soccer and any other non contact sport that doesnt hurt Oliver and Milly.This game is a national icon and should b protected. Benny had many chances but unforetunately his life journey has kept him from sustaining any stability in his profession. I dont condone his off field behaiviour but Good luck to him and his future endeavours.
