Just discovered this show a month ago. It drew me right in. Every moment is hysterical. Love every character. Absolutely brilliant.

Hans was my favorite character on the show. It's a shame there was a conflict and he couldn't continue in later seasons.

My dad used to love this show, we would watch it many evenings when I was a kid and I was defo too young to understand the jokes haha but I used to love how much he laughed at it 🥹 he passed away in 2011 and I miss him so much. ❤️ Now I’m rewatching it as an adult and it’s hilarious 🤣

Classic British comedy, wonderfull. Many of them famous sitcoms comedies made. From Fawlty towers to Are you being served? and the rest from those days. Cheers from Netherlands.

The British won the war,and World comedy.!!! You can watch it,over and over.

It’s soo clever how literally every line in the script is either comic or an double entende innuendo…there is literally no filler here…frikkin hilarious.😂

Sam kelly is probably one of the most under appreciated english actors there has ever been IMO. A great talent

Man this brings back good memories!! I was always watching this with my parents every single night and laughing my ass off!

It's sad that Hans were sent to England, but I was happy to see him once more even for a short while :-)

From the very first (pilot) episode I KNEW that this series was going to be a big hit. Loved every one! But it was a pity that Sam Kelly left the show.

hans (who is a bit stupid normally anyway) doesn't want to always be the last person in the group to say "heil hitler" (in case he sounds disrespectful to the fuhrer) so he just says "tler" (just as the others are finishing) to make it sound like he has said the whole thing and at more or less at the same time that everyone else said it. the actor did explain the joke in a profile show about the tv series - most british people didn't understand the joke until he explained it and didn't know why he was saying what sounded to them like "clop" or "clump" etc.

Yes he's saying -tler fast. But what people don't realize is that's he's saying it fast in a german accent. So it could possibly sound like clop to some.

It doesnt sound at all like Hitler in a german accent to me at all. It sounds like "Clop". I've spent a week in Berlin an another in Vienna and have heard German accents all my life

it is based on a 1970's bbc drama series called secret army (how the gestapo dress, the painting that is faked, the invalid woman upstairs, british airmen hiding in the loft, the uniformed policeman who is secretly helping the resistance etc) - and where germans, british, belgians etc would all be in the same room talking and using language idioms etc but somehow could all understand each other.

@@rogeredwarrddeshon5000 yes the gestapo didn't actually dress like herr flick - but what i meant was allo allo just copied how the gestapo dressed in secret army (and in fact in secret army there were not many gestapo but they all dressed the way that herr flick did for some reason) - like the way the chief woman in the resistance has a beret and brown trench coat and a bicycle - which is copying secret army again.
