You missed the real reason...he knew he would have to relocate himself and his family if he won ... and was the stress worth the emotional strain and was it truely what he wanted to fulfill him and make him happy...no his family made him happey and he knew the toll it would take on them if not already during the show

Not surprised, Declan was an absolute monster in the kitchen. I honestly was really torn between who I wanted to win, because Mary Lou and Cody were just a joy to watch together and Declan just ruled every time he was on screen. I wish it could have been one of those three.

I respect Peter for his decision to withdraw himself from the competition. But the harsh reality. To get to the top, you have to get your ass kicked. Because the lessons and teachings you learn at the entry level will go a long way.

Totally agree he didn't completely understand what it took and when it dawned on him he knew it wasn't for him and that he had to go and he, out of respect, didn't want to waste Gordon's time. Also not being funny just look at him, whatever he is doing for work he's able to look after himself physically so perhaps he doesn't even need the job so fair play to him

Adam totally destroying Kori, the eventual winner, in a 1-on-1 competition in her preferred category of food was a completely unexpected upset

Kori losing on Mexican challenge despite her being Mexican reminds me of Kimmie who got eliminated on Southern Night despite of her being Southerners as she's saying it many times

Everyone expected marc or Jordan to sunk her in the final service yet it ended up being Adam and him only, I think Adam is a little overrated by the fans

Its a sign of a truly great chef that even though he’s unfamiliar with a type of cuisine, he knows flavors and how to combine them in a way to let them shine. Very impressive 🙌

Season 19 was one of the most fun seasons to watch. Watching the Downfall Of Amber was super entertaining, listening to Marc piss and moan was funny, and seeing the contestants that deserved to be in the top 4 get to the top 4 made it all the more better.

My favorite part the entire season was Cody getting so sick and tired of Marc and was done with his shit, so he ended putting himself up knowing it would be the best way to get rid of him.

@@zacharyferrell7562it's so funny seeing everyone at the start abstain from Marc's beef with people but as the show goes on they all start siding with anyone against Marc because they realise he was the problem
People forgot that Marc started off strong, but he never improved and was obsessed with being the one in charge. Cody and Declan started off strong and just kept getting better. And they led not because they wanted to be in charge, but because they were positive, helpful, and _good_ at it.

Much respect for Peter. He was self aware enough to realize he wasn't up to the challenge and decided to drop out not only for his sake, but for his families too. Hope him and his family are doing well these days.

true that, instead of being inflated with an unbelievable ego most novice chefs can have and not own up to their own abilities. he knows what he is capable of and knows when to quit which is a very good trait most ppl do not have
Adam is such a great chef and great man. Him crying tears of joy over positive feedback from Chef Sánchez shows how much appreciation and respect he has for food and the competition. As for Peter, he’s absolutely right. Not many chefs have gone through the mental and physical challenge of Hell’s Kitchen. So much respect for him for being honest with himself and Chef Ramsay. Hope the best for him.
I am still in shock over Adam being kicked off the show earlier than Marc. But this whole season was just a joy to watch :D

TBH, you can teach cooking much more easily than leading. Adam never showed leadership qualities, just compare him to Kori. No one likes Marc, but if he was head chef, he would be 10x more vocal than Adam, and communication is top priority for working in the kitchen.

I really respect these men for crying. This is what a man is, being able to feel and express those emotions. I was so happy for the man with the enchiladas, even though he didn’t know that Mexican was not a language (hopefully he knows by now). And the guy that misses his family, I hope he is having a fantastic life with them.

A human is a being with the ability of conscience thought, emotions, and awareness of the fact. That is what Man is on Earth. I respect Peter. You career shouldn't be the only important thing in your life. Happiness and passion are way more important in my opinion. If you love to cook, being a head chef in a highly stressful kitchen isn't the only way to find fulfillment.
Declan was so strong from start to finish, he is a total leader, I am so shocked that he didn't win. I loved all the final 4 though but really thought he was the best all-rounder there

No offense, but one of my all-time favorite HK chefs, Milly shed more tears. He was humble, hungry, and willing but wasn't ready due to inexperience. His rough background made him emotional. With his success, I hope he gets some therapy.

I loved this entire season. Nikki was great, youngest and least experienced but always on point and willing to help e eryone else.

My heart when Chef Aaron started tearing up a little bit for Adam. 😭 He's such a kind guy. Good for Peter. It's totally okay to admit that you don't have what it takes for the job or that an opportunity isn't what you want anymore. I hope it all worked out for him in the end.

I love nothing more when the person knows Spanish or Chinese or sign language and speaks to the special guest chef, thanking that the chef will be impressed by their ability to speak their language, and then get shut down by how crappy the dish is

They may think they could get extra points from there. What happens actually: the guest chef would expect more, and be more likely to be disappointed if they're not as good as expected.
Respect for Peter for being honest, rather than being delusional: "I'm An ExEcUTivE cheF, I beLong hERe blah blah blah..."
I'm surprised Amber isn't in the comments section asking why the moment when Kori didn't pick her isn't already in the video.

Watching the raw videos reveal so much. At this point it is only the 1st couple seasons.
Huge, huge respect for Peter from all of us out here. I admire someone who can tell the limits of their mental wellbeing in the middle of all their chaos and choose them. Not all great chefs, leaders, stars, etc of any kind are necessary made the Hell's Kitchen way.
None of the bad stuff would have happened if Kori had picked Amber to be on her final team
At least Peter was honest with himself. No shame on what he did at all. Matter of fact more respect to him.

Peter wow! Gotta give him respect. He wasn't ready, he wasn't aware that such quality would entail a demanding environment, and most importantly he admitted he can't do it. But I disagree, to raise the quality of the restaurant, you gotta be put in such a stressing environment. Different work flows for different types of restaurants.
I find it funny Kenneth faced Kori the first person to get eliminated v the winner
i truly think cody, declan, and mary lou owned this season. it was their competition the whole time
This is the first season I watched when it was new and boy what a great one to follow week by week. It's up there with Season 6 and 12.
Adam being so insecure and nervous about how he did on the enchilada, and then having the best dish is amazing.
Kori can speak up for not choosing Amber, she knows who she is.

See the difference between Amber and Jordan when they went into the pantry is that Jordan sulked for a few seconds before forcing herself to come back. Amber cried a river.

Poor Peter crying made me think about the time that Kori didn't pick Amber to be on her team and that was that. I was gone. The entire morning in tears, wailing and weeping on the school run. My kid's teacher tried to comfort me but I knew deep down she'd never understand.

If you look at GR's face when Amber starts to cry in the pantry, you can see it. This man cares FAR more about his team than he does about the people eating. He is desperately trying to drive them all to greatness. Even the ones he knows won't win, he only wants them to be their best.

The fact that that the red team was so confident that they had the win in the bag and then the blue team just blows Gordans socks off with three back to back 5s is amazing
This is such a great show - I love watching it, thinking "holy sh*t, how hard can it f**king be to do right", then take a bite of my gas station sandwhich, laugh softly and continue watching...

This was ny favorite season. No one I can recall outright disliking. Peter earned my respect, I really loved Mary Lu, her positive energy is infectious.
