​@@Bajinowhere Assuming you're asking a genuine question, games are ran in frames. FPS is frames per second, and this metric describes how often the screen updates. So in a game running at 30 FPS it updates 30 times in a single second, and 60 FPS updates 60 times. This is why high frame rates are desirable for smoother viewing experiences. Anyways, this speedrunning trick is a manipulation of the random chance in Saphire to guarentee Kyogre catch on the first great ball thrown. The runner needs to perform each input during the correct frame window (for example between frames 12-15, Idk the actual frame window of this trick) in order to guarantee the catch.

​@@BajinowhereA video is like film, where it simply is just a bunch of pictures being shown one by one at a specific rate. A 'frame' would be a picture shown on that film. It is the same in games. But in games, the game code is also running beside the frame for changing and checking states and shii. So, they are trying to catch the Kyogre when the state of the game is favorable, which only happens at the right frame.

First, it was the elden ring speedruns, blindfolded and such. Then there were the shiny Pokémon vids, I enjoyed them much. That's what led me here. That net ball was clutch.

I remember the time I caught a Kyogre first try with a net ball too, I still have that Kyogre somewhere either on my pearl or white cartridge.

I KNOW that couch smelled horrible after buddy on the left stood up

many people don’t understand that he’s doing rng manipulation. the gen 3 pokémon games are famously broken when it comes to rng manipulation because of errors in the code. if a sequence of inputs is repeated on the exact frames and if you know you’re trainer id and secret id you can know exactly what will happen on each frame allowing for easy rng manips for a ton of things in the game :)

@@ninoferreira4927 No, it has nothing to do with cheat codes. Whether you catch a pokemon or not is dependent on when you use your pokeball. He knows when that right time to throw the ball, but it is such such a short window of time that it is easy to miss.
