Sapper main here. One interesting hideen fact about the big aah axe is that the hitbox moves with you. Meaning that if I were to swing and I keep moving forward, I can reach zombies that I wouldn't have killed by standing still or retreating, even if the axe swinging animation has already ended. Yes, you can make a bubble of death if spinning while striking horizontally (if you are fast enough).

As supper i tend to do a quarter spin when swinging, this leads to multi jills even when I swing downwards

And you can deal multiple headshots at once that way and the 5x dmg multiply will eradicate any enemy

yes, the hand axe is op but sometimes i like having a "challenge" aka using chap or sapper over all handaxe is best melee.

​@@JMTRBXChaplain is cool, I have it and it's fun. Until you see a *runner* because you are screwed unless there's a team mate nearby, even with full crucifix they'll just ignore it sometimes...

In my personal opinion, I enjoy using the saber more than the handaxe, this is because of its range and because of its capability to hit from the bottom. Many will see these are pointless, but the range could really help mainly with runners, if you miss the runner because of short range, then it's too late to re-swing making it impossible to avoid getting caught, another thing about the saber is its bottom swing which allows you to quickly attack faster then attacking from other sides, making you able to easily kill runners, and spamming it could allow you to handle chords quite nicely, though it does take skills to do so, though any other melee weapon are also good, as i said this is only my opinion, have a nice day :D

True, hand axes are better for objective because you're always with your team and they could save you if you get tackled, sabres are better for endless because you can use it when you have to clutch and if you're far away from your team

Many people thought the handaxe was a straight upgrade from the sabre just because it had 15 extra damage, slightly faster swing rate while having a lack of range, hitbox, hardly deal with zapper Ive seen a lot of people missing their handaxe attacks like a dumbass

You can circle runners infinitely with a specific movement

The only reasons I use the sabre is: 1. The downward swing of the sabre is really good at dealing with runners 2. I don't have to spend eternity swinging at a Zapper only for that mf to just 360 and wipe my ass out of existence

I don’t really find the damage penalty against zappers to be that big of a deal, for one you have a gun which can take out a good portion of their health (if not outright one shot it) and you’ll also usually have team mates helping you to take out the zapper. If anything the fact only linemen and seamen can have the hand axe equipped is a good thing because atleast some of your teammates will have a sabre to help deal with zappers anyways.

It's easier to multi-hit with the sabre than hand axe. Sapper really needs a halberd, an axe but with crazier range.

perhaps same damage, but it’d cost like 1500 francs and would have some impale ability or something

one thing i didnt see you point out is the range, now this wouldnt be much of a problem for most players but for me it is, i like grouping up my zombies and then start slicing and the hand axe is bad for it not only do i take a lot more but i also have to get closer to my enemies in order to land a good hit

Range was mentioned but not to an extreme for precise stats and what not since I dont notice it as much. There are some who do though

In my opinion i always use sabre for the directional rotation and just getting to it i really love killing zeds at a safe distance with the sabre i just adapted to sabre playstyle and i can t really change it.

The Handaxe is good but with some downsides. Its clear that its pretty good for clearing shamblers at the cost of not being effective against Zappers and you may have a more difficult time killing a runner that wants to tackle you because of its more shorter range.

The stab attack with the sabre is actually underrated, it’s the fastest sabre attack and therefore it’s really good against runners or if you need to take out single targets really quickly, the handaxe does not have that so you need to be more careful around runners with it

1 thing u forgot to mention was headshots with melees, both the sabre and handmade can one shot if you aim ur swing to the head of a zombie (unless you're in end game or at a high wave)

the range is only noticable when their at a sapper's wall, so ur pobly hitting 1 or 2 less zombies

i think that the range for the hand axe is only good depending on your ping because depending on whether or not if your wifi is good could affect the hitbox a lot and that is why i like the sabre you can always use the down swing which is probably nearly faster than the hand axe and the range is better

There a criteria that you forgot to cover which is the hitbox. The hand axe hitbox are a square on a top while the sabres have the hitbox on all its blade. It important to notice that if you swing a hand axe too close to zombies then the zombie wont get damage or get worse than from the sabre. As a mobile player I recommend other mobile to use the sabre than the hand axe as it more reliable.

Imagine getting so close to the zombie so it can grab you but ur axe deals zero damage…

my question is why the ways to swing are so inportant, first person exista which makes landing hits easy

so been recovering after a few days but I got a ear infection but well you make great intros

Great video again jmt . Yes , Hand axe is best wepon sometime , weak than sabre sometime . Reason is every g&b wepon , of course depends on situation/map . Like example : for vardo , im using hand axe for last part / whatever . Reason why i use sabre has good hitbox , countering runner range slash cd , and the most important thing. Theres still hitbox little bit after you slashed. Its same as axe , you can use like chainsaw. People ask which side should i slash from? Sabre is down , axe is up. Hand axe is right or left. Bayonet... down slash? And aim for head, And change to first person. Perfect if you flick (exclude bayonet and handaxe) with that . I got all badge / i just played 185 hour... but i hope this would help you guys. One last thing , theres no worst or best wepon for me. (I mean exclude stake) so think yourself whats best wepon for you , people say carbine is trash but its so interesting for me... anyway . Enjoy your g&b life! WAIT! sabre is the best general use weapon. hand axe's damage is meh because both sabre and hand axe usually 2 shot shamblers and 1 shot on crit. At least hand axe synergizes with sapper's buildings a bit better, still a solid weapon tho

When I first played this was exactly how I felt

I eventually make hand axe as ny first shop weapon to buy while not knowing its very very good to use

For me the best melle weapon is the heavy sabre since you can practicly use it like a bayonet since the hig swing can one shot zombies if you aim at head and low swing to kill in general and also a good way to one shot shamblers if you jump and time it also when charged you can use it as a bayonet

I normally use the bayonet along with the sword. I use the sword in an emergency *runner* bc i genuinely care about a bit of range and speed. I also use the bayonet for when you need to get them sweat Insta kills. But if we are talking about the main meal weapons I’d chose the hand axe👍🏻

For jmt I have a question which is the most difficult according to guts and black powder

As a sapper main myself I can confidently say big axe better as nothing demolishes a horde better unless it’s a blunderbuss

now that the pike is out the hand axe has some competition

update: the zapper resilient have been remove in the newest update, that the zapper in test zone spawn path take 3 swing to kill now it only take 2

i think the hand axe is not overrated BUT it does 90 damage in 2 hits but you can still die whit that if your surrounded by a horde of zombies and 2 bombers but you can maybe kill 1 zombie to get out of the surrounding but it depends on how much zombies there are so you might be stabing your way out but you might still get grabbed thats it

Tip: A bayonet can instantly kill a zapper if you aim for the head. It is also extremely good during the charge because during a charge you just need to get the bayonet out and you dont have to press to attack because during a charge it automatically kills any shambler that steps close to you

Bro is speakin' absolute FACTS. It does 1 tap to the head. Without the charge ability. It's easier to hit head shots in first person in my opinion but we all have our preferences. If you do use fist person I recommend slightly zoom in and when you see it go a bit transparent that's when I use da bayonet for slighty first person mode as technically you would still be in 3rd person.

as a sapper main i am offended that you say hand axe is better than axe. hand axe: i lost to zappers. i have bad range. *axe:* I can shove zombies to stun em. I also deal high damage and long range. Slow and steady always wins da race. I multishot too. Barricades are also really good [basically just hit zombies when they are tryna break your barricades].
