PSA for new players: I’m fairly sure the new kit’s guns are push-fit, so you can swap out guns as the editions go by to use the best tool for the job

I just smeared a little super glue on the peg, let it dry and then force it in and the additional width given by the glue keeps it in place,

Autocannon all day

I'm running a group of 3 Armored Sentinels with 1 lascannon and 2 autocannons, paired with an Exterminator for the extra AP on the autocannons. It gives you a bit of a spicy threat for armor and good anti-elite with good number of shots/consistent damage profile. Plus the squad is designed to be hyper aggressive for screening and flanking that can also be brought back via reinforcements.

Called it with the missile launcher! Always loved the weapon (split profiles are my second favorite after plasma) and it's well suited.

I would actually love to try the missle launcher idea. Gives me battletech missle boat vibes.

Armored sentinels with heavy flamers, chainsaws, and hunter-killers. Fire off your missiles as you close along side the Bullgryns, then CHARGE!

The plasma cannon on the armored does really well since it becomes a unit that is a threat to anything it also has base AP3 so you could push it to AP4 and almost guarentee damage on most vehicles (and the MW is not that much of a problem because i already want to spend 2 cp to bring it back and get more damage with the HKM and change where they are in the board)

I agree with most of yhe sentiment here... but if your armor/monster hunting the lascannons are still better imho. With the missiles being heavy yes thats nice but now your combo requires 4 things to line up. I think it just depends on what your after. Great video, good food for thought and I think the heavy on the missile is a typo... just hasnt been caught yet.

This will be useful for me because sentinels are going to be the backbone of my force since I’ll be trying to make a Elysian drop troop force. The regular sentinel will represent drop sentinels, and the the necromunda tauros will be scouts. I will test out the rocket sentinel idea since I’ll be running a mixed sentinel force with no tanks.

I was literally building a sentinel when this was posted 😅

IMO all of the options have their merit, but I would put the order at LC, ML, AC, PC, HF. Krak Missile hitting on 3's is nice. LC wounding on 2-3 is nice. the AP of the plasma is nice. The damage of the AC is nice. Flamers are always handy when you need one

I like to think my scout sentinals as the screening / distraction unit, so I actually played them with heavy flamer, using the scout move aggressively to manage to charge early, this way I don't care about the debuff shooting in melee and I don't need any orders to hit more reliably.

As I'm not a tournament player, and I prefer to do role-playing scenarios, I automatically choose Scout Sentinel armed with a heavy flamer. The only choice I have as I play Catachans .

Las cannon is still better as it's strength score is essential to making sure your hits get through. Even though the krak missile luancher is interesting for a sentinel heavy army since we can get that hit number so low and can keep a whole squad of tank hunters out of sight and still reaching out and touching enemy vehicles. And the more chance you get to try and hit in the few turns you have the better. Imagine needing your armored sentinels to hold an objective niw you can without denying your front line the fire power it needs. I also feel the flamer id ubder appreciated. Tossing your scout sentinels in a sucide attack with your catachan front line and bringing another three heavy flamers into the shooting phase and an extra charge with them chainswords. While scouting for inderiect fire. That front line can be really messy with loads of dice being thrown around. You could pop smoke or simply wait for a total wipe of the sentinels and call them in as rienfocements. To charge into another melee. Making them impossible to ignore.

If the load out isn’t Chain swords and plasma. I am going to pretend that it was.

I ran a maxed Sentinel list with just lascannons. Once in 10e. Never did again, it felt evil. It basically removed my opponents big tanks turn 1 and became my anti elite weapons turn 2. Sure lascannons are inefficient vs elites, but they still one shot on average when they get past that 4+ invuln. And my opponent had no more tanks anyways. Not running that again.

Building armoured sentinels because they look cooler. That's the only reason I need 😅

It’s totally theory but yeah missile launchers with hks on armored and stacking buffs feels . I think they really feel good and could do some real work. I also think missile launchers should have all gotten heavy to give them a good feel over the better damage, ap and strength from lascannons. Heavy feels like a great bonus to make missiles feel viable.

I’m a fan of heavy flamer scout sentinels. Have two flamer chimeras filled with catachans that scout move on the flanks for screening then use the sentinels to body block until my main force can set up.

Disappointed you didn't cover the mighty militarum MULTILASER. Never has there been a weapon so devastating in the lore and so rubbish on the battlefield 😂

I actually like the multilaser. It might just be the local meta, but we have fewer marines around here, so using them to move lite-ish infantry from an objective early has its merits. Three sentinels won't bully much, but light to medium infantry they actually can.

If you kill your own sentinel with an over charge plasma gun, can you respawn it? Great video, I run a primary Sentinel army and never thought about doing rockets like this! Thanks for the help!

I really just wish the powerlifters and drop sentinels werent legends. With the drop sentinels having meteoric descent, they could have done a similar role to space marine inceptors except instead of heavy bolt pistols or plasma, they could take a multi melta! It could have been so sweet. And the powerlifters are just fun.

I stick with my missile launchers, cause those that keep saying rocketlauncher cause they think they mis when saying missile launcher tend to look weird at me for tempting fate.....Little do they know i dont have their missing fate.

I just wanted to ask this since it's the most recent vid more likely to be seen. Was wonderable how viable a combo blob of a platoon command squad with commander having power fist, plasma pistol, one veteran with master vox, one with medic load out, and two veterans with plasma guns (or maybe one ditches the plas for standard bearer), a primaris psyker, and a twenty man blob of krieg with vox, two melta, one plasma gun, and medkits, and the sergeants with power swords, and one plasma pistol, and one with bolt pistol. Just wondering how and or if viable, and, if legal. As well as if the command squads and psykers feel no pain was stackable.

You can't pick the same weapon twice in a command squad BUT you can still take two heavy weapons for the krieg bois( sniper, grenade or flamer) expect this all is legal

If you shot 3 plasma cannons into a 20 man squad, do you fire 3d3+12 or do you fire d3+4, then recalculate blast for the next weapon?

Depends on if it’s a squad of 3 or 3 squads of 1. Squad of 3: 3d3+12 3 squads of 1: recalculate after each sentinel has shot.

plasma cannon sents rule cause you can suicide the end of the squad with supercharge and reinforce.

Use 3 Scout Sentinels as an alpha Strike and move block by scouting forward. Take aim, 3 Hunter killer + 3 lascannons alpha stike is hard.

And... because they have Regiment Keyword, can be brought back using the Reinforcements! strategy

I always just take the chainsaw and leave the ranged weaponry at home. They need to get stuck in.

If the sentinels die and you reinforcements them do they get back their hunter killer?

I have 8 sentinels. I used to run them all armor. 2atto cannons. ( Cadia ) 1 flamer per squad. Lazer cannons are too hit or miss.

the problem with running a full tank army is almost no oc and the melee sucks, the scout sentinniles fix all of these problems

I originally included them but the lack of firepower and their fragility keeps making me take them off. I like the recon buff but not if it dies so easily...

​@@javilo2797 and you can reinforce them as well with the stratagem but 180 points for only 3 heavy weapons? and while the bonus is okay, a lot of the time i think you can get more by just adding a 3rd mortar team instead of 2 or its more efficent to just add orders or go for expert bombardiers instead. if i could just take 1 sentinel i think that would be a closer match, but 1 isnt very durable on its own and then would seem like it would require too much reinforcement to justify it...

I'm not a guardman, but one of these days. I'm going to run a one thousand point list of nothing but catachans and sentinels. It will Probably be the most obnoxious 1k list ever and idgaf.
