I’m 60 too! I was a runner until my 50’s. Even had my data 42 and ran with stroller. Sadly, I have severe spinal stenosis, scoliosis & 4 screws in my neck. Walking like Groucho Marx my brother kids. He’s 70 & still running. So having tenitis i can sympathize. My mom had that. I still stay active but it’s difficult ❤l😢 I try to make the best of my day and love my family..,…God Bless you and love your videos;) love how you looked in the black dress 🥰😍

At age 56…my eyelids just seem crepey when I try to do any kind of eyeliner ! This helps A LOT! And the tape is always a “look saver” ! Thanks!

I will be right there with you in the nursing home putting on my sparkles and shimmers! Life is too short to be matte 😂 I'm 52 and wing my hooded eyes with the help of a stencil. I couldn't do it otherwise, but with the aid, I can still do a respectable wing ❤

I love the rephr 29 brush but unfortunately no matter how careful I am cleaning taking care of them they loose there shape start to fray I’m super jealous rephr sends you them they are amazing there no 23 eye pencil brush my very favourite brush from them

Risa, I can always count on your advise. I'm 65 and I really need some liner to bring my eyes out. My biggest problem is using liner/shadow to do my wing because it doesn't stay on as long as liquid liner. I'm tired of using liquid liner, but I find myself doing it in order for it to stay. I do a tightline also. Is there something that will stay on longer? Thank you for always teaching us.

Thanks! I'm so frustrated with my 54 y/o hooded eyes because they are uneven in their hoodedness and it takes forever to apply makeup. I have stopped purchasing eyeshadow palettes of any kind because I just don't use powdered shadow that often anymore. I like the Victoria Beckham shadow sticks (the ONLY brand of shadow stick that doesn't feel sticky and lasts on my oily lids) for quick, everyday looks, because powder shadows just take forever now. I will try this technique with my powder shadows when I want to dress up, though.

I really applaud you for the way you opened this video with an apology. It once again speaks to your credibility. I do so wish this technique would work for me, but unfortunately my upper hood extends below the level of my lower lashline, and the hood itself is quite puffy (fatty?). I've had to simply accept that a wing just won't work for my eye shape, and it will remain that way unless I get an upper eye bleph.

Ugg, I can completely relate! I highly recommend trying masking tape instead of scotch! Masking tape is far more gentle and easy to tear. I have also always had hooded eyes but had a perfect routine but now at 52... things are getting more difficult (especially w Eyeliner). My eyeliner used to last all day but not anymore. I'm also having issues with my skin getting more dry vs combination. It's like I have to learn what works all over again! Thank you, much love to everyone! ❤️

At 81 Plus i love shimmer and purple/ lavender on my brownish eyes and shimmer is the finishing 12 touch. I want to find a beautiful blue shimmer.😊i have never been able to do a wing on my hooded, fownturned eyes.

What is a more natural-look shortened version of this GREAT demo. I’m not sure if that is possible…? I too have the hooded eyes now in my late 50’s😱, and I’m dealing with a chronic painful disease with limited mobility. This has certainly affected my self-esteem. Risa, thank you for your very smart tutorials and your comments on wearing shimmer, glitter, etc. over 40, 50! I am just over 60 and wear both (with very hooded lids)! Matte colors make me look older, but shimmer looks bright and beautiful on me and I’ll never give it up!

I’m in my mid sixties and this was SO helpful! I have a double “crease” in my crease! I can “hide it” with darker shadow but it’s more noticeable to me. Thank you for such a great tip. I’m going to try and wing out my shadow using the tape to keep it reigned in. 🤞🏼🤞🏼that it works for me! ❤

I always do my eyeshadow first. And I use eyeshadow shields which helps create a crisp edge and wing, as well as collect any fallout under my eyes.

This is a great trick which I´ve been using since you posted your previous video on this. As we get older things get more challenging, but the results are worth it. I no longer use liquid or pencil eyeliner. Eye shadow and tiny brushes give us, mature women, a softer look. I hope I die with my full makeup on,

I'm legally blind and eventually will go fully...i can no longer see what I am doing with my make up and wish someone like you could come do up my face every day! People often mistake me for being in my 30s so I feel fortunate...but when I know I look tired...i know my eyes are hooded...Lord knows sometimes what I look like when I DO apply eye makeup.
