Ultimately this debate sort of comes down to zooms vs primes for wedding videos or more specifically the best type of lens to use on your gimbal. We think that there are pros and cons to each but wanted to highlight some of the specific reasons we love to use zoom lenses on a gimbal.
In this video we are bringing you behind the scenes at a real wedding where we are using the tamron 28-75 2.8 e mount lens on our gimbal to show of why we think it's the best lens for gimbals

I shoot with the Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 lens and can attest that a lightweight zoom lens around this focal range is best for weddings. I never have to rebalance when changing the focal length and it allows me to capture more dynamic gimbal shots efficiently

I’ve been using the Tamron 28-75 on gimbal for years as well. Love the light weight of it, incredible image too

I'm usually on my sigma 24-70 or a 50mm on the gimbal cam. the 24-70 is just such a useful focal range for a solid general purpose lens

I have 3D printed Focus Gears for my APS-C 16-55 f2.8 Sony lens, so I can use a follow focus motor to zoom. Makes life much easier and I get more usable shots, as I do not need to touch the lens to adjust the zoom ring. I 100% recommend this for everyone on a gimbal and using a zoom lens.

Loving the combo ! Which focus mode are you particularly on ( wide, single point , ...) ?

Great question. I personally like two switch between single, wide, and object tracking… but I use manual a lot too for foreground shots.

On the GH6 love the Panasonic Leica 10-25mm f/1.7 Lens for gimbal work (full frame equivalent of 20-50mm)

Nice video and very helpful! By watching it, you mostly shoot on 24fps? So you switch between 24 and 60fps? If you want slowmo? But if you switch to 60fps. It does crop the video right? So its like zoomed in?

I pretty much shoot 60 fps all day on a gimbal. We only use gimbal for our creative shots. In terms of the crop… It depends on the camera. In this video I was sizing a Sony A7S3, which does NOT crop 4k 60.
