Jeff, after months and months of watching different home renovators' videos I have been able to narrow down my choices of renovators that I go to for DIY videos. You, Sir, are by far, a cut above all of the hundreds of other instructional and informational renovators offered on KZread. You not only offer complete tutorials that cover every possible home renovation idea but you also give the DIY'er the options of materials that are available on the market, what to look for, and the Do's and Don't's when working on a project. As a 67 yr. old DIY female, whose only income is dependent on Social Security, I can honestly say that you have saved me a few hundred dollars. I am blessed. I only wish I would have discovered you a few years earlier and I could have saved several hundred more. Thank you, Jeff, for all of the brilliant information you share with the public. Jeff has the BEST DIY videos on KZread. Always informative, spoken in easy English and with a sense of humor. Just like you had set down with your smart next door neighbor for a beer and had a good discussion about the subject. And they cover every type of renovation project you could imagine. I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who gets breathless when talking about energy efficient lighting.

I changed all my house lights to LED's back in 2010 . I had several 24 inch Fluorescents in closets. I just changed them all to LEDs using just the new LED tube lights no wiring needed. I also installed Insteon dimmer switches back in 2010 as well so all lights are dimmable and programmable. I can even change where the switch is located without having to run new wiring . So for that switch thats across the room making you walk in darkness to get to it just mount a new switch at the entrance to the room, simple. Love your stuff Jeff . Having just one arm I've had to look for lots of tricks to do home improvements. Wish you'd been available 20 years ago... Cheers...

I love LED lights! I'm building my house right now and I got like 60 6" lights for everywhere. Barely any power consumption, great lighting, pretty easy to install. However I didn't know all these options.

Thank you for this info. The timing was perfect for me. I ordered 24 pot lights and one with a motion sensor. (The 20% discount kept my final total under $500. Awesome!) Thanks for the great content! Just installed 12 led pot lights in my kitchen and 10 in my family room. Different light levels for each. The led lights with switches to change color are a game changer. I’m both cases I selected a different final temperature that what I would’ve purchased.

What color temp did you settle on?

I put similar low profile lights in my kitchen. They are the way to go.

Bought like 20 of these previously!! EASY to install and very happy about the result. The only thing that took me time was to choose 3000k,4000k,5000k temperature.

Thanks to this video I'm going to replace all the old kitchen lights in my house with these ultra thin adjustable LEDs, will be a nice top off for our kitchen reno

Love the videos as always. Great content and love the fact you take the time to show us all the options. Unfortunately here in B.C. under Technical Safty BC they state: If you are replacing the light fixture yourself in your own fully detached single dwelling, the Safety Standards Act requires that you obtain a homeowner permit.

I put something like this in my basement. Having the color change is great since a room can go from a warm rec room to a brighter/cooler color for detailed stuff like an office room. Great video as always!

Great video as always, and amazing product selections, so you mentioned that in a couple of weeks you would be doing suspended ceilings, and that would probably mean pot lights etc. here is a suggestion, show us how you would use a push in wire connector with the (very thin) 18 gauge wires already attached to the LED fixture. thank you

Love the LED lights. When we first moved into our house, I replaced all our bulbs with LED's and installed LED strips in my shop as well.

great video as always Jeff, its time for an update to this video. its 2022 now and there is a plethora of additional options out there. for example, these same easy to install lights also come with WIFI Connectability where you can control each light and change colors, dim, change hue by remote or smart phone app.

I had to subscribe with this video being so awesome with a wealth of knowledge.

Right on time Jeff. I'm slowly finishing my basement and I am going to have a drop ceiling with 2x2 tiles. I was looking for lights, now it looks like I'm going to get the LED 2x2 Back-Lit Panel about 5 of them.

Motion LED: Great olace is the lined closet. The only problem is getting power to those areas, especially if you live in a condo where the exterior walls are CMU.

Thanks, ordered up some of the gimbals to try out in my weirdly thin vaulted ceiling. I've been trying to figure out what to put up there, and didn't like any of the flat LED lights. These gimbals look like they will suit my needs perfectly!

I’m switching the old can lights and track lighting in my living room to led recessed lighting. You always make just the right video for what I need. I need that motion sensor light in my craft closet. I want to just open the door and grab something and it always bothers me when I have to find the switch for the room it’s in just to quickly find something.

Man how I love those . I have tons of solar led I’ve been experimenting with . AMAZING. I need to put those indoors .❤

I will second everything Jeff has said here. In the process of remodeling an older beach house and after watching all of his videos which are great by the way I used the affiliate link on his website to order every light from GTA electric. Saved a ton of money this route and note to mention GTA has a great customer service department, fast shipping and even helped over the phone during the weekend. The lights are great, easy to install, the brightness colors are consistent and the ones installed outdoors just recently survived going through a hurricane. I have these lights hooked to dimmers, 3 way switches and even motion switches. Buy one light and have incandescent in outside eaves, day light in living areas and bright lights in bathrooms and closets and be done!!!

I'd really love to see a retro fitting of the slim-line pot lights in preexisting ceilings. Wife wants more lighting; I want recessed LED's...but tackling the idea of light spacing, as well as running new Romex from a single point through the ceiling without damaging it makes me a bit apprehensive. Also I wonder if there's a product that allows me to use these with smart home technology (which you don't seem to talk about very often. Smart thermostats/smart water leak detectors/smart garage door openers/security cameras/smart water irrigation systems...etc) *EDIT* Found a smart switch with dimmer and non dimmer options that take any light run (or outlet run) wired into it to control with voice/phone/or switch its called a "Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch by TP-Link" Although I don't know what it means when it says "Single Pole"

I like the Leviton Occupancy Sensor for an interior closet switch. Same result as the Vegas but then I can pick the finish of a flush mount.

That would be me. First thing I did when I bought my house back in like 2012ish, 2013ish? Replaced every light with LED lights. Fricken way expensive, especially back then. But so worth it. Especially for my house. My house still has 100 amp service, and most of the house is wired to just a few 15 amp fuses. Yeah, fuses. I've had to replace like 2 fuses in the 7 or 8 years that I've lived here. I have LED lighting to thank for that.

These lights seem pretty promising. I clicked the link and noticed, they are down right affordable without the discount. I think I will be grabbing some of these to see how I like them. I could see converting my whole house to this stuff.

I just bought 12 of the 4 inch. I really love the channel. Redoing my basement after a flood and it appears the previous owner cut A LOT of corners.
