Never get a Dell with the silver keyboard. I suffered for half a year. Reflection from the screen make the keyboard unreadable. Juggling with backlight helps a little bit, but you will be frustrated. Chose black keyboard. Always!

Google that model and Dell customer service. Deplorable service. I have that model and the hinge cracked open and Dell doesn't acknowledge it's an issue yet there's plenty of videos on YT with the issue. I would say 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ far away from Dell.

For those who are limited with budge go with acer nitro 5 2020 around 600-800

I'm expecting to buy a new laptop to replace my current, very underspeced one but I'm really torn between some options. I have the Vivobook 14 (8th gen i3, 4 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD) right now. I'll get either HP Envy 13 (2020 model), XPS 13, or something else. I use a laptop for college works (an undergraduate computer engineering student), and want a great performing laptop that could last me long, has a great battery life, has great speakers, has a fingerprint scanner, and has a great display. Do you guys have any opinions between them? Or do you have another options?

@@arijeanz from my experience we would need fast multicore processor for quick code compilation (faster app testing) and big memory for big project. Decent gpu is more than enough (except you're machine learning engineer or game engineer) maybe some Aesthetic for bragging right and work from Starbucks developer

@@arijeanz hehe hehe 😅 we just don't write text. We have to work on huge projects. Text files in GBs, imagine. Need to compile them and run and see what they are doing when you give them some inputs. All this requires a lot of power. Usually processing power. RAM is enough at 16GB with Linux os. As Windows take alot of ram. Processor is required to be very efficient. Ryzen 4th gems laptops are really powerful and amazing. Like one guy mentioned redmi 16 is great but no Backlit keyboard and no camera is a bummer. Hope this answers your question. 😅 Writing text was funny though 😁

The surface laptop 3 has had a few known issues so I have heard people reccomend other alternatives, like the XPS line or thinkpad options.

In a couple months the triton 300 may be on this list

All these laptops are great upgrading a 1TB or more solid state drive is that speeding up progress is something very important, even in businesses.

Best gaming laptop under or at 1200? Preferred specs with 144hz screen 1660ti and good cooling?

Sir I'm thinking of buying a new laptop i have narrowed it down to 2 laptops one is the HP 14s cf3028tu and the other is Asus Vivobook 14 X409JA-EK372T. Both have SSD+HDD but there is a big price difference, please tell me if the extra money for the HP is worth it or please give me some other options. Thank you! Currently, amd has better options cpu wise than intel. Search around for something like a ryzen 7 laptop.

I went with the Thinkpad X1 yoga. I am very happy with it so far.

I'm looking into buying a new laptop for work/school. I'm stuck between Dell and hp. I've heard a lot of negative things about Dell inspron trackpad. I'm pushing towards an HP. my two previous laptops were both HP and i was satisfied with them. also don't want to spend over $1250 for a new laptop. any suggestions?

Need help with finding a laptop. Going to use it for app and game development so it needs to have a good gpu, and a good cooling system. Acer swift 3 😃 60k ₹ (650 $) is one of best on build quality and performance (with Amd ryzen 4500u) that beats i7-10th gen both ice lake and the comet lake by having 6 physical cores upto 4GHz along with 3200MHz fast RAM. I have a review on it its beast for all my heavy work on programming.

You can see my review running 10-12 apps with 3 ram hog apps like Android Studio, Pycharm and Intellij IDEA it doesn't have a minute lag in it. Very comfortable for typing and have a full Mg-Al body, Al makes it versatile and Mg makes it shock proof.

Acer nitro 5 is in high demands, and the cheapest I’ve seen it so far has been 450.00. The deal is over, but you may find some low deal like that for an amazing laptop

I think you should get the Dell XPS 13 if you dont mind spending 1k or a lil more. Im looking for a labtop so i can stay organized with my business. You can also look into chromebooks their pretty cheap and perform well for maybe 400$-600$. I bought a dumb labtop from walmart for 400$ and its so slow and i have no files on it just needed it for school but it was way too slow i couldnt get anything done. You get what you pay for!!!!! goodluck with you’re business!

This list is very obviously Dell biased. I just got the 2020 Specter x360 15.6" a week ago, and it is amazing! I'm running Fusion 360 on it along with Cura as my STL slicer. Keep in mind I have the lower i7-10510u with the dedicated MX330 gpu and it's still handling Fusion great! I even installed Inventor 2021 on it 2 days ago to see how well it runs. Ran very well considering the specs. There was a tiny bit of lag when orbiting, but completely negligible. If you're considering it, don't over think it. It's a good performer, and a beautiful looking laptop as well.

@@omegaPhix Are you talking about the Envy? Honestly, the design of the Spectre just captivated me from the moment I saw it. I was also amazed by that 4k OLED screen. I'd seen the Envy, but the foot print was just a bit too big for my liking. I was already having a hard time choosing between a 14" or a 15.6", and this Spectre is only slightly bigger than my wife's C940. I also went away from Ryzen due to the fact that I can use an eGPU if needed. Since I work with CAD and 3D modeling software, I think the ability to use a eGPU down the line is very convenient.

I wouldn't go with Dell thier customer service and support is terrible. I would go with a accer they are pretty reliable.

Please help!! I have been in need of a new laptop for more than a year now but everytime I decide on the one I’m going to get, I find something out that changes my mind. i would get the nitro 5 personally! Even tho thermals may not be the best it has a more powerful gpu and most times with laptops running hot its always the cpu gpus tend to run cool. so you could always undervolt and underclock the cpu a little to keep temps down.

As far as I know the Macbook Pro is the only laptop on the market that offers 4 usb c thunderbolt 3 ports which let you transfer at speeds up to 40Gbps. It might not be that useful now but having thunderbolt 3 will increase the lifespan of any computer.

What happened to the Golden medium between thin-and-lights and THICC heavy gaming laptops? You know, the ones that are a little over half an inch thick with full sized ethernet jacks without feeling like chonky beasts from the early 2000s. the thin-and-light craze is driving me nuts, cool to look at in a show room and it has its place, but doesn't mean stop making designs just thick enough to have a ethernet jack , plus more room for cooling. ( more preformance without feeling super big. So the form factor of the 2011 macbook pro would be what I find perfect for me.

How about the asus zenbook ? I personally think zenbook ryzen is actual one of the best out there for 2020

I’ve been reading and watching reviews for like two weeks now and I’m honestly so lost. I just want one that I’m able to games on and use with a drawing tablet since I think they’re compatible with laptops as well. If anyone can help I’d be very grateful! Ask yourself what programs and application do you use on a daily basis? If it's just to email and work on basic Microsoft office programs than I suggest the listed Chromebook and it's inexpensive as well.

Man I wish I have at least one of those laptops. It could surely help me in programming. I'm just too poor to afford at least one of those. Well here's to continue dreaming. although now I'm still aiming to get at least one of those but you can't deny the desire hahahaha.
